    hi,

Jo, we were thinking about getting an awning for our deck, but there's a tree that would be in the way and that partially shades the deck. Things seem to take so much maintenance. Glad the gas company is repairing your lawn. Have fun at the farmers market. Ed, so many parties! Have fun if you go to the neighborhood bash. Hi Irene.

We had thunderstorms last night. It's currently 73F,23C. Overcast with rain showers at times. High 76F, 24C. Winds light and variable. Chance of rain 40%. I did my cleaning yesterday and we walked around the park in Frederick, stopped off for a drink before we came home. I made a blueberry cheesecake last night, and put together a fruit salad this morning. We had a whirlwind of family here this morning to celebrate Father's Day. The three little ones were running around and having fun together. I need to exercise and will see what else this gray day brings. Wishing all a great weekend. β˜•πŸŒ‚πŸŒΈβ˜οΈπŸ€žπŸ»πŸ•ŠοΈ

    good morning

It's currently 62F, 17C with a bit of a drizzle after thunderstorms last night. Cloudy with showers. High 67F, 19C. Winds E at 5 to 10 mph. Another gray day. It was nice seeing the family yesterday. The little ones are super cute. Up early this a.m., no special plans, will see what the day brings. Wishing all a peaceful Sunday.

Howdy all y'all. It's sumptuous Sunday!

We have 23 (Celsius) cloudy degrees with an expected mostly cloudy high of 30 and 42% chance of PM thunderstorms. This sounds like a broken record, doesn't it?

I did not attend the barbecue yesterday as I didn't feel I could count on the weather and didn't prepare anything to bring. As it turned out, I could have gone, as the weather was stormy up until half an hour before the scheduled start and then gave it a break for several hours, and the sun even came out. After all that rain, the heat index was ridiculous, though the temperature wasn't totally terrible.

It was just as well. For my dinner I got gluten free chicken egg rolls out of the freezer and air fried them, serving with some habanero peach duck sauce I made from habanero peach preserves. It was a bit spicy, and made me break a sweat, but very tasty. A small serving of chocolate extreme moose tracks ice cream was my dessert.

Jason had some nachos bell grande, with a couple of ingredient adjustments, and some of their nacho fries. He went to a square dance and picked up on the way home, late last night.

For breakfast I made Krusteaz gluten free pancakes, served with triple berry preserves instead of syrup, along with some Johnsonville link breakfast sausages. Pineapple was the juice flavor for the day.

Groceries are on the agenda for today, and a stop at PetSmart for kibble for Orion.

From the sound of it my first cup of coffee is ready, so off to the kitchen (literally a few steps away).

    Good morning,

It is currently 54F with a high of 74F, partly cloudy. Saturday was rainy off and on and Sunday turned out to be a nice day with partial sun. Didn't do much over the weekend. I found a bird app called Merlin from Cornell University that identifies birds by their sounds. It is pretty neat and now I can identify all the birds in my yard. We have a little chickadee building a nest in one of the birdhouses. Vix-It is nice that you got to spend time with the grandkids. Irene-it is supposed to heat up this week, so I am sure you will get a lot of pool time. HI Ed. Enjoy your day!πŸ˜€

    good morning

Irene, yay for getting to use your pool and for the lawn getting done. Ed, your dinners always sound so good! Jo, I didn't realize Cornell had a bird app. I've donated to them rather than Audubon. I believe all our birdhouses are occupied. There's an old one in our locust tree that blue birds have been using for the last several years. They're so pretty!

It's currently 59F, 15C. Raining since last night, ending this morning. Remaining cloudy. High 67F, 19C.. Winds light and variable. Chance of rain 90%. So much rain!!! I have PT at noon today, and we're going to go away for a few days, so I guess I should figure out what I'm bringing with me. Wishing all a bright shiny new week. β˜•πŸŒ§οΈπŸŒŸπŸ€žπŸ»πŸ•ŠοΈ

Howdy all y'all. It's marvelous Monday!

We have 23 (Celsius) fair, mostly sunny degrees with an expected mostly cloudy high of 30 and 38% chance of PM thunderstorms. Sounds like we're repeating this track yet again.

I found a box of gluten free corndogs at the grocery. I don't eat a whole lot of corndogs, but a nice treat. I air fried two on my return, for a late lunch.

Supper last night was chili, with cheese and Frito scoops to help eat it. Breakfast this morning was Greek yogurt with coconut almond granola, and 4 slices of bacon. Orange juice to drink.

I hope everyone had a great weekend, and will have a great week!

    Scam of the Week

    Scamazon Prime

This week, cybercriminals are targeting Amazon Prime customers located in France. You receive an email stating that your Amazon Prime subscription will automatically renew. The email contains your name and address, making it appear convincing. It claims your subscription will automatically renew, but at a very expensive cost.

Since the high subscription cost seems alarming, you’ll likely want to use the β€œcancel subscription” button in the email. If you click it, you will be taken to what appears to be an Amazon Prime login page so that you can access your account. But if you enter your user credentials, you won’t be taken to the real Amazon website. The login page is fake, and the cybercriminals who created it can steal any information you enter here!

Follow these tips to avoid falling victim to a phishing scam:

If you're concerned about your Amazon Prime subscription, contact Amazon's official customer service directly instead of clicking a link in an email.

Always think before you click. This phishing scam is designed to scare you into clicking impulsively.

Even though this scam specifically targets French users, remember that cybercriminals use similar tactics in scams worldwide.

    good morning

Ed, thanks for the scam reports. We're getting lots of rain too. Irene, glad you like the rocks in your garden. Sorry your balance is still a problem, hope they can find out the cause. I practice standing on one foot every day. Sounds silly, but I think it helps. Jo, hope you're getting a chance to relax.

It's currently 65F,18C. Areas of patchy fog early. Cloudy this morning with showers during the afternoon. High 78F, 26. Winds SSE at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 40%. We're heading out for a couple of days, so I probably won't be here. Wishing all a nice few days, maybe some sunshine! β˜•β˜οΈπŸŒΈπŸ€žπŸ»πŸ•ŠοΈπŸ€žπŸ»πŸŒž

Howdy all y'all. It's terrific Tuesday!

We have 22 (Celsius) sunny degrees with an expected partly cloudy high of 31 and 46% chance of PM Showers. Not quite a carbon copy of yesterday's forecast and we didn't get any showers yesterday. It turned out to be quite a nice day.

Jason had a square dancing thing last night so I just fixed a couple of thinburgers (6 literally thin burgers to a pound) with cheese on sandwich thins, ketchup and mustard for condiments. No chips, no dessert. Even sandwich thins (that weren't terribly thin) was plenty of carbs.

Breakfast was link sausages with maple brown sugar oatmeal on the side, orange juice to drink.

    Work beckons.

    God afternoon;

Currently 74F and cloudy. Irene-Sorry you are still having balance problems. Vix-have fun on your time away. Ed-I like Arnolds sandwich thins. I don't think they make a gluten free one. I worked this morning, ran a few errands and am now sitting on the deck reading emails. Have a good afternoon.πŸ˜€

Howdy all y'all. It's wonderful Wednesday!

Irene, I certainly don't want to second guess your doctor, but could it be Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV)? There are some exercises that can help, if that's the case. I and several friends found that diagnoses to be very helpful. Does the dizziness happen all the time or mostly with somewhat sudden head movement, like sitting up, lying down, turning your head quickly, etc.? I found the Epley maneuver to be very helpful. If you want to try, here's a page that might help.

Which BPPV Exercises Are Best? Vestibular Maneuvers You Can Use At Home | Dizziness Symptoms Care

We have 22 (Celsius) cloudy degrees with an expected partly cloudy high of 30 and 42% chance of PM thunderstorms. Our forecast for yesterday did not mention thunder, but our brief evening shower gave us a little bit anyway, gratis.

Dinner last night was Frito nachos. I opened a can of vegetarian refried beans, heated them up with a little water for easier drizzling on the Fritos, made some nice white cheese sauce with jalapeΓ±os, opened a package of extra chunky, restaurant style, medium spicy Wholly Guacamole, and a jar of hot salsa. All the toppings went on a bed of Fritos scoops and dinner was served.

For breakfast this morning I heated up a couple of waffles from the freezer, fried an egg, and warmed up a large sausage patty. Two slices of American cheese and a drizzle of maple syrup completed my home made McWaffle style breakfast. A banana after that, rather than any potatoes, made it seem more like a complete meal. Pineapple juice washed it all down.

    Work beckons!

    Good morning;

It is currently 70F with a high of 78F. It is cloudy and we have some scattered showers. The landscaper mowed the lawn and put some fertilizer down. I have a few plants that I want to transplant, but I think I will wait for a drier day. Nothing on the agenda for today, except for a little housework. Enjoy your day!

Howdy all y'all. It's thrilling Thursday!

We have 22 (Celsius) fair, mostly sunny degrees with an expected partly cloudy high of 29 and 52% chance of PM thunderstorms.

Nothing critical aside from work stuff.

For supper last night I made a fritatta, hash browns, eggs, cheese, and onion all baked up in the onion for a tasty meal.

For breakfast this morning I made blueberry pancakes, using fresh blueberries from the yard, and warmed up some heat-and-eat pork sausage links. Orange was the juice of the day.

Well, work beckons. I ran a bit late on breakfast. I don't usually go to that much trouble with breakfast on a work day, but the blueberries were just too perfect not to do something with. I may have some with yogurt tomorrow.

    good morning

Irene, I hope you find some relief from your balance problems. Ed, sounds like you are enjoying your more summery meals. I cut up a fresh pineapple this morning, yum. Jo, nice to have someone take care of your lawn. Pete does all the yardwork, though we did have someone come to cut down a tree that was dying. They will be back to grind out the stump. I hope you get some time to relax.

Our trip was nice. We stayed at a Hyatt, right on the water (marina), walked on Queen Anne's trail by the marshes, and went to Terrapin Nature Park, and saw some turtles, big and small, and an eagle. The weather was hot and sticky, and I was glad I brought bug spray! We had some nice seafood, restaurants close to the hotel. Drove home in a really heavy thunderstorm.

It's currently 75F,24C. Sunshine this morning. Increasing clouds with thunderstorms developing this afternoon. A few storms may be severe. High 88F, 31C. Winds SW at 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 70%. We've had a lot of extra rain this month. I was going to go to the library, but it's closed today. The lilies are all blooming, orange, pink, white, yellow, so pretty!

    good morning

Jo, the heat definitely wears me down. I didn't do much yesterday. Forgot it was a holiday and went to the bank. Duh, closed. I went and walked around Kohl's just so it wasn't a totally wasted trip. πŸ˜‚ I haven't been in that store in years. Irene, sorry about your balance issues, I hope they can figure something out to help you. Hope George is feeling better soon. Ed, guess work is keeping you busy.

It's currently 61F, 16C. Sunny to partly cloudy. High 84F, 29C. Winds W at 10 to 15 mph. Lots of heat and thunderstorms for all of us! I have an acupuncture appt around 9 this morning, and will see what else the day brings. I dragged out some of my sleeveless tops and lighter pants. Supposed to be in the 90s most of the coming week. So hot! Wishing all an easy Friday. β˜•πŸŒžπŸŒΈπŸ€žπŸ»πŸ•ŠοΈπŸ’πŸŒ»

Howdy all y'all. It's fabulous Friday!

    image.png

We have 21 (Celsius) partly cloudy degrees with an expected partly cloudy high of 32 (hot!) and 3% chance of precipitation. Looks like that broken record of PM thunderstorms is finished for a while.

Ruby seems to have caught a cold from Orion, who had it first. Her latest bloodwork showed exposure to heartworm (doesn't mean she has them) and they want to do another blood test and a baseline (hopefully) chest x-ray to look for any signs of inflammation. She seems fine, other than the cold. I'm giving her a little colostrum and a lysine treat to boost immunity a bit. Cats aren't generally good hosts for heartworm so we can hope for the best.

For supper last night I made vegetarian taco salad. Breakfast this morning was a quickly prepared thinburger and a couple of egg bites, with pineapple juice to drink.

    Work beckons!

    Good morning;

Currently 70F with a high of 80F, sunny and very breezy. I opened the widows to air out the house. Irene-I hope your balance problems get resolved soon. Ed-poor Ruby, she can't seem to catch a break. Vix-sounds like sleeveless tops and lighter pants will come in handy this coming week. We didn't get any rain yesterday, so I had to water outside. The patch that the gas company dug up is starting to sprout grass. I finally transplanted my plants this morning and did a little weeding. Charlie trimmed back a Rose of Sharon that was out of control. It looks so much better now. Have a great day and stay hydrated!

    good morning

Ed, poor little Ruby is having a rough time. I hope she recovers quickly. Jo, we're keeping our windows/sliding glass door open in the a.m. and evenings when it's cooler to let in some fresh air. I'm glad the grass is sprouting on your lawn, and that you had time to transplant you plants. I just put one pot out this year, didn't plant any house plants outdoors, the weather was too variable. Irene, glad George is feeling better. Fingers crossed for you, hoping you get some answers.

It's currently 67F,19C. Some clouds this morning will give way to generally sunny skies for the afternoon. High around 90F, 32C. The beginning of the heat wave. Winds light and variable. Yesterday we went to Frederick and walked along Carroll Creek park. We stopped on Market St, and went to a nice Spanish/Mexican restaurant for lunch. I had a salad with avocado and grilled shrimp, Pete had tacos. Today we'll probably go to Lake Fest in Columbia, it has some arts and crafts vendors, food, and entertainment. Wishing all a great weekend. Stay cool. β›…πŸ€žπŸ»πŸ•ŠοΈπŸͺ…πŸ’ƒπŸ»πŸŽ¨πŸŽπŸ˜Ž

The lantern flies are coming back, we destroyed some nymphs yesterday. They look like small black bugs with white spots and they kind of jump like grasshoppers. Get rid of them as soon as you can, they're pretty but very destructive.
