    good morning

I did laundry and foiled my stained glass project yesterday. Picked up a few things at Walmart. Sent a note to my doctor. Glad I got that all done. It's currently 59F, 15C. Areas of patchy fog early. Considerable cloudiness. Occasional rain showers this afternoon. High near 70F, 21C. Winds WSW at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 60%. I'm off to craft day today. Wishing all a fine Tuesday. ☕🌂🌼🤞🏻🕊️

Howdy all y'all. It's terrific Tuesday!

We have 12 (Celsius) sunny degrees with an expected mostly sunny high of 26 and 2% chance of precipitation.

Work got me busy right away, but taking a break to wave.

Cinco de Mayo supper was a black bean and rice burrito bowl. Jason had spicy chili. Breakfast was some brown sugar cinnamon oatmeal, sausage links, and an apple crisp flavor Katz toaster pastry, with the usual orange juice to drink.

I need to get some laundry going today. In fact, I'll get that started right now!

    good morning

It's currently 55F, 13C. Partly cloudy. High near 75F, 24C. Winds NW at 5 to 10 mph. It's nice and sunny so far. I finished my little fox stained glass project yesterday, and glazed some clay items to put in the kiln.

    sg-little fox.jpg

I have an eye Dr appt today, annual glaucoma test. Will see what else the day brings. Wishing all a happy 🐪 day. 🌞☕🌺🤞🏻🕊️

Howdy all y'all. It's wonderful wet Wednesday!

We have 16 rainy degrees with an expected cloudy high of 22 and 93% chance of morning showers.

As it's raining here, I think they've about nailed it.

Nice stained-glass fox! Hope the eye appointment goes well.

I got most of the laundry done yesterday. I may do a bit more today. Nothing is waiting to be folded, so I did keep up with it.

Mainly some sheets left, and there is no hurry on that.

Supper last night was vegetarian taco salad with a drizzle of honey mustard dressing. Jason had salsa on his as well.

Breakfast was Greek yogurt with grain free granola, sausage patties, and orange juice. Goodie Girl gluten free oatmeal breakfast biscuits went nicely with my tea for a finisher.

Work is already rolling, so back to it.

    Good morning;

It is currently 61F with a high of 73F and the sun is finally out. I plan to get my geraniums planted today. My lilacs are starting to bloom. Vix-Iove the fox. Do you cut out the pieces free hand or use a pattern? I remember playing war with my kids. Ed-thanks for the scam info. Here is a picture of the patio.

    good morning

Ed, taco salad sounds good. Jo, nice patio! Are those pink azaleas? Beautiful. Your fenced in yard looks very serene. 😊 Irene, hope all is well.

It's currently 59F, 15C. Partly cloudy with afternoon showers or thunderstorms. High 77F, 25C. Winds light and variable. Chance of rain 40%. Our yard is filled with irises, we have some cornflowers, bluebells , lilacs, and clematis. Purple/blue season. And our rhododendron is blooming, deep pink. Jo, I generally follow a pattern, but usually make some adjustments or changes to it. I have drawn some of my own designs, but it's best to have a paper pattern to cut the glass. Turns out it was just a regular eye exam yesterday, glaucoma test in September. Today, I need to remember to make a PT appointment, will do some laundry and other chores around the house, and see what else the day brings. Wishing all a fine Thursday. ☕🌂🌸🍷🤞🏻🕊️

Howdy all y'all. It's thrilling Thursday!

We have 16 (Celsius) cloudy degrees with an expected partly cloudy high of 28 and 15% chance of precipitation. Oddly enough 16 C = 61 F and 28 C = 82 F so for today reversing the numbers gets the Fahrenheit temperatures.

That patio is looking great Joanne!

I have the last laundry to fold (for now) having done several loads yesterday. None had a lot of things to fold as they were all bulky items. What is left now to fold is the bed sheets for the guest room along with some towels and a few random things that were in the colors bin, just to fill out the load so it would be less likely to get unbalanced in the washer.

I'll probably get to these items today…but no guarantees! LOL!

Supper was meatballs with sweat chili sauce and an English muffin with butter and triple berry preserves. Breakfast this morning was some oatmeal and 6 chicken nuggets along with the usual orange juice to drink.

Howdy all y'all. It's fabulous Friday!

We have 17 (Celsius) partly cloudy degrees with an expected partly cloudy high of 27 and 15% chance of precipitation.

Still that last bit of laundry to fold. Maybe today!

Supper last night was Caulipower brand pizza, from the freezer. Jason is trying to lose weight so had the Cheese Lovers (low carb and incidentally gluten free) while I had the Supreme (gluten free and incidentally low carb - LOL). OK, they were both gluten free and low carb but the low carb was important to him and the gluten free was important to me.

Breakfast was some yellow corn grits and a couple of eggs, over easy.

We made candied orange peel yesterday because Jason had been wanting to try that. It came out very tasty and very NOT low carb. I ate a couple of pieces for breakfast dessert.

    Back to work!

Ed, it's good you get a lot of variety in your meals. I just put the towels and bath mats in the washer, and I have a load of clothes to do after that. I have an acupuncture appt later this morning. And today our housecleaner is coming. Nothing else scheduled. Will see what the day brings.

It's currently 54F, 12C. A steady rain early...then remaining cloudy with a few showers. High 58F, 14C. Cooled off a bit. Winds NNW at 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 100%. Wishing all an easy Friday. ☕🌧️🌺🤞🏻🕊️

Howdy all y'all. It's soggy Saturday!

We have 13 (Celsius) rainy degrees with an expected chilly, rainy high of only 15 and 98% chance of precipitation. Sounds like a good day to sleep in, and the cats actually let me do that. I got up on my own at 9:00 on the dot, and by the time I had started my tea brewing and did other "first thing in the morning" things it was time to feed the cats so once again they ate before I did.

Dinner last night was a veggie pot pie I found somewhere, maybe Sprouts. It was surprisingly tasty. Breakfast/brunch this morning was an absolute luxury. Since it's a weekend and there was no need to get ready for work, I made some Krusteaz gluten free pancakes, and had them with a couple of eggs. I had one pancake with triple berry preserves, one with just butter, one with a drizzle of maple syrup. I had not made pancakes in quite some time, though I have purchased gluten free waffles from the freezer section at the groceries. Orange juice to drink.

    The pancakes were delicious.

Nothing critical on the agenda today. No laundry to fold (unless I decide to run a small load of whites) so I may do some house cleaning. Or I may just laze my way through the day.

I'm really surprised to be the first poster this morning, having posted so late in the morning.

Ed, your meals sound good. We met with our son and family for breakfast this morning. i had a gluten free oat and quinoa waffle with peanut butter and banana. It was yummy and very filling, brought half home.

It's currently 62F,17C. Abundant sunshine. High 73F, 23C. Winds WNW at 10 to 15 mph. A beautiful day. Will probably do some chores around the house and enjoy the gorgeous weather. Wishing all a fun weekend. ☕🌞🌞🌞🌸🍷🤞🏻🕊️

    Good afternoon

It is currently 52F and raining. We had rain yesterday also. Ed-glad you got to sleep in. Vix-your waffle sounds good. Sam brought me a bunny the other night. Thankfully it was still alive and not hurt, so I put him back outside and didn't let Sam out again. He was so proud of himself. I ran errands this morning and am now puttering around the house doing odd jobs. Enjoy your day!

Jo, glad you were able to save the bunny. I don't miss that about having a cat.

It's currently 63F, 17C. Sun and clouds mixed. High 82F, 28C. Hot. Winds light and variable. I put a load of laundry in the washer, sipping my coffee. Put my winter boots away for the summer. We may go out to an azalea garden later. It's a beautiful morning.

    Happy Mother's Day!

We have 14 (Celsius) cloudy misty degrees with an expected cloudy high of 19 and 86% chance of precipitation as rain clouds roll through.

Regardless, I have some shopping to do and it will get done.

The cats let me sleep in only until 8:00 today.

Supper last night was some cottage cheese with granola.

Breakfast was sausage patties and waffles, with maple syrup. Orange juice to drink.

    Sipping my tea now.

    Good morning

The Azalea Garden was relaxing and pretty, even though most of the azaleas had already faded. It's located near a dam with a large lake. I put it on my calendar to go earlier next year. I'm sure it's brilliant when they are all blooming. Our grandson brought me a pretty bouquet Friday from his scout fundraiser, and Pete picked a bunch of irises for me from the garden. They are so beautiful with a light fresh scent. I enjoyed some time relaxing on the patio and reading.

It's currently 55F, 13C. Partly cloudy skies this morning will become overcast during the afternoon. High 79F, 26C. Winds SE at 5 to 10 mph. I have a PT appt this morning, and will see what else the day brings. I want to clean out my clay tools bag, hopefully I will get to that. Wishing all a bright shiny new week. ☕🌞🌥️🌺💐🌷🤞🏻🕊️🌟

    Good morning;

Happy belated Mother's Day! We did a little work in the yard and then went out to lunch at a new Korean restaurant. We tried kimchi pancakes. They were good. I got Bibibap with beef and my daughter got hers with Tofu, Charlie got Stone pot beef Dupbap. The bowls were huge. We each have enough for 2 more meals. Today I have already done 2 loads of laundry, washed the windows inside and out upstairs. I will do the downstairs windows tomorrow. I also made hummingbird food and put out the feeder. I am now going out to do errands, grocery store, library and the garden center. It is a beautiful sunny day.😀

Howdy all y'all. It's marvelous Monday!

We have 29 (Celsius) cloudy degrees with an expected stormy high of 24 and 70% chance of precipitation.

I'm going back to bed shortly. We took Ruby to the emergency vet last night and she is in the hospital. Severe diarrhea and straining to get more out when there's nothing there. They are looking into possible causes (thinking maybe parasitic infection) and keeping her hydrated. We'll know more after they run more tests.

We got to bed at 3:00 in the morning.

    Taking half day from work.

Supper last night (before we realized Ruby had suddenly become so ill) was at a new sushi place that opened very nearby. We liked it.

Breakfast this morning was sausage patties and hot buckwheat groats with cinnamon and coconut sugar.

Update: Lunch was a cheese sandwich on Boulder bakery's gluten free white bread. I approve of this bread.

    Scam of the Week

    When Mourning Meets Malware

Unfortunately, cybercriminals often use sad news to trick you. Scammers are taking advantage of Pope Francis' recent death by using AI to create fake images and news articles about the event. They post this phony information on social media accounts in hopes of capturing your attention. However, if you click the links in these social media posts, they’ll take you to harmful websites that steal your personal and financial information.

Scammers have also made fake news websites with stories about Pope Francis. Some take you to fake Google pages that try to sell you gift cards as a scam to steal your information and money.

Others will install malware on your computer that is designed to steal your data. These malicious websites can even appear in online search results, so you might accidentally click on them. You could visit a dangerous website without even knowing!

Follow these tips to avoid falling victim to these types of scams:

Keep your browser and computer’s operating system updated with the latest security features. This practice helps protect against malware.

Don't click unknown links on websites, in emails, or in social media posts. You should only visit trusted news websites.

Be careful when viewing exciting headlines or viral content. Scammers often use these to trick you into visiting malicious websites.

We have 16 (Celsius) foggy degrees with an expected mostly cloudy high of 25 and 23% chance of precipitation.

Ruby is still in the hospital. We hope to find out more today. At least they have 24 hour staff there to keep an eye on her and make sure she gets what she needs.

Supper last night was cornbread and chili. Breakfast this morning was the leftover cornbread, with some sausage patties. Cranberry juice blend to drink.

    Work beckons.

Jo, the Korean restaurant sounds like fun, I've never tried that. You do so much in one day! Your house must be sparkling! Ed, sorry Ruby is sick, I hope they can fix her up so she's feeling better soon. Irene, so glad you are feeling better!

It's currently 64F, 18C, raining. Cloudy with periods of rain. High 67F, 19C. Winds ESE at 10 to 20 mph. Chance of rain 100%. Rainfall around a half an inch. Locally heavy rainfall possible. PT was good yesterday, they gave me some simple exercises to loosen my hip and neck. I did get to organizing my clay tools bag. Off to craft day today. Wishing all a fine Tuesday. ☕🌷🌧️🤞🏻🕊️

    Good evening;

Ed-I am sorry to here that Ruby is sick. I hope the vet finds out what is wrong quickly and that she is home with you soon. Irene-glad your kidney stone issue is resolved. Vix-I hope the Pt and exercises help your hip and neck. We had another beautiful day in the 70's. I finished washing the windows. The landscaper stopped by and said he should be able to take out the old bushes and plant the new one sometime next week. I also got a call from the gas company and they will be out next Tuesday to put in new gas lines and a new gas meter on the outside of the house. They said we were due for an upgrade and there would be no cost to us. Have a good evening.😀

It's currently 61F, 16C. Areas of patchy fog early. Cloudy skies this morning followed by thunderstorms during the afternoon. High 71F, 22C. Winds E at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 60%. I finished cutting out a small stained glass mushroom yesterday, and made a couple of small clay dishes to put under flower pots ( I put a flower pot and some other small pieces in the kiln.) Brought home the "scary gnome" and unicorn I made for our grandchildren. They liked them. Wishing all a happy 🐪 day. ☕🌧️🤞🏻🕊️

    Afternoon update.

Ruby is home, but very subdued. We're keeping a close eye on her. They sent home a number of medications, and we had to pick up one OTC med from Walgreens on the way home.

She ate some kitten treats when we got home and a little food, and I've seen her drinking water. We need to take her in in the next 3 to 5 days for some additional blood work, and we're waiting on test results for fecal and a thyroid panel, even though her T4 was low normal.

We will be watching her pretty closely for a few days, for sure!

Vix-Did you take pictures of the scary gnome and unicorn? I stopped in at home depot garden center on my way home from work and they had lavender plants on sale 3 for $15. I bought six plants. I plan to add them to the other lavender plants that I planted last year. Enjoy your afternoon!😀

Ed, glad you got to bring Ruby home, sounds like she needs all your good care. I hope she feels better soon. I found out I need to avoid gluten too, which I mostly already do. Oh, well. Jo, I didn't take pictures. They're not very good, but the little ones like them. Maybe I'll take a photo later today. I love lavender plants, so pretty. Irene, hope all is well.

Howdy all y'all. It's thrilling Thursday!

We have 19 (Celsius) partly cloudy degrees with an expected mostly cloudy high of 30 and 2% chance of precipitation.

Doctor's appointment this morning. Hopefully routine. Will see if I'm due for any vaccinations or boosters.

Tonight we have a small group event at a Cici's Pizza in a nearby town. I'd rather it be at our local Cici's if it had to be at a Cici's at all. There isn't much there that I can eat, and not much that Jason wants to eat. It's not unlikely that we'll both want to stop somewhere on the way home, to get something to eat!

Supper last night was refried black bean taco salad that I made. Breakfast this morning was hominy grits with cheese and bacon bits stirred in.

Ruby is acting much more like herself this morning. There must have been some residual sedation from the pain med at the hospital. She mostly slept yesterday, but did get very spicy when we were giving her the evening meds. This morning I was clever and put all the morning meds in her food, which she ate right up. Tonight's evening meds will have the same treatment.

The vet is waiting on further test results to come back before hoping to make a definite diagnosis, but the working hypothesis is that it was a GI infection caused by parasites. Hopefully we'll know more next week. Since she is eating and drinking and (at least at the hospital) pooping without straining, and not just liquid, we are hoping she's over the worst of it. We are giving her a small amount of de-wormer every day until it's gone, omeprazole for acid reduction, a probiotic (morning) and an antibiotic (evening) and hoping she'll be fine at home for the duration.

We kept her in the hospital until we felt sure she would be OK coming home (basically until she was properly re-hydrated and took a somewhat normal poop) and that was expensive but would do it again if necessary.

I feel much better about Ruby this morning. But I will still try to keep a close eye on her.

    Afternoon update.

Everything looked good at the doctor's office, so I got a TDAP booster shot and came home, after a stop at Sprouts for some gluten free items I seem to be able to find there and nowhere else. For lunch I made a grilled cheese sandwich fried in ghee, with a small handful of Ruffles original.

Ruby still isn't up to full energy, but she is playing for brief periods while still resting a lot. She did apparently poop. They thought they may have induced an ulcer with the steroids they treated her with so we're watching the color and consistency of that. And it's the reason for the omeprazole treatment. It did look darker than it needed to be but we'll be checking red blood cell counts on Friday and evaluating then. There was no apparent fresh blood so that's good.
