good morning,
Our grandson's soccer game wasn't cancelled. It rained heavily the night before, but was just drizzling in the a.m. It was fun watching, such an improvement from last year. ๐ It actually looked like a game! (5 and 6 year olds). It rained more in the afternoon.
It's currently 49F, 9C. Sunny. High 69F,21C. Winds NW at 15 to 25 mph. Higher wind gusts possible. Looks like a beautiful, coolish, windy day. I have some laundry to do and some more paperwork to take care of today. Will see what else the day brings. Wishing all a peaceful Sunday. ๐๐ฌ๏ธ๐บ๐ค๐ป๐๏ธ

Howdy all y'all. It's sumptuous Sunday!
We have 21 (Celsius) sunny degrees with an expected mostly cloudy high of 27 and 3% chance of precipitation.
There is no laundry to fold. I need to get out for some groceries and cat supplies today. We'll see what else. The felines let me sleep in until 9:20! It took me about ten minutes to get myself together and as soon as I got to the kitchen, I pushed the button for my tea and got their food together. Ruby the colony kitten gets quite feisty about her food if she feels I'm not moving fast enough.
Supper last night was noodles and cheese. Breakfast this morning was buckwheat groats with coconut sugar and cinnamon, sausage patties on the side, and a small bottle of orange juice.
I've nearly finished my tea and my coffee is calling.

Howdy all y'all. It's magnificent Monday!
We have 17 (Celsius) partly cloudy degrees with an expected partly cloudy high of 26 and 3% chance of precipitation.
Nothing critical on the agenda today other than work.
Supper last night was jerk seasoned beans and rice with chicken. Breakfast this morning was the last of the bag of blueberry vanilla granola, with milk, and too much bacon. The usual small bottle of orange juice to drink. Nearly done now with my tea and coffee is brewing.
And I've already started work so enough chit chat I guess.

good morning
Ed, you reminded me, I have sheets in the dryer from last night. Ruby sounds like she gets hangry. ๐ Yesterday, I had my usual routine: morning internet, puzzles, and exercise. Went for a walk a little later because it was just so nice out. Did some laundry, paperwork, can't remember what else, but was busy all day.
It's currently 48F, 9C. Sunny. High around 75F, 24C. Winds light and variable. Today, I'm meeting a friend for lunch, which will be lovely. We used to work together, and I don't see her very often any more. It looks like another beautiful day coming up, happy, happy.๐ Will see what else the day brings. Wishing all a bright, shiny new week. ๐โ๐บ๐๐ค๐ป๐๏ธ

Good morning;
It is currently 61F with a high of72F. All my contractors were here bright and early this morning. The walkway should take a day and a half to complete and the patio and apron around 3 days. There is a lot of cutting involved to take out the old patio. Vix-enjoy lunch with your friend. Irene-I hope you are feeling better. Ed-have you noticed any weight change as a result of eating gluten free?
I have done 3 loads of laundry, dusted, vacuumed and made a few phone calls. Later I have to pick up flea and tick prevention for Sam and run a few other errands. Have a great day!๐

Scam of the Week
Hello... Is It Scams You're Looking For?
In this weekโs scam, you receive a text message from an unknown phone number that reads โHello.โ The message seems harmless, and you might think itโs a genuine text meant for someone else. Because the message appears friendly, you may be tempted to respond.
However, this message is actually a text-based phishing scam called a smishing attack. Scammers send thousands of these messages to random phone numbers, hoping to receive a reply. If you reply to the text, the scammer confirms that your phone number is active and that they have contacted a real person. They will continue texting you to try to gain your trust so that they can steal your data or financial information. What you thought was an innocent text from a wrong number is actually a scam!
Follow these tips to avoid falling victim to a smishing scam:
If you think you have received a smishing message, block the number and report the text as junk or spam on your smartphone.
You should never share personal or financial information in text messages, especially if you do not recognize the number!
If you receive a text message from an unknown number, simply donโt answer. Itโs not rude to protect yourself!

Jo, you sound very busy, as usual. You must have the cleanest house! Sounds like Sam is doing well, fitting right in. Ed, thanks for the scam info. My bank keeps sending me info too. There seem to be a lot more scams lately.
It's currently 53F, 12C. Sunny to partly cloudy. High around 85F, 29C. Winds SSW at 10 to 20 mph. Hot! I'm off to craft day today. I forgot to foil my glass during the week, so I think I'll start another new project, so I can cut and grind today. Lunch out with my friend was really nice. Wishing all an enjoyable sunny day. ๐๐บ๐ค๏ธ๐ค๐ป๐๏ธ

Howdy all y'all. It's terrific Tuesday!
We have 18 (Celsius) cloudy degrees with an expected mostly cloudy high of 27 and 12% chance of precipitation.
Joanne, I really haven't had any weight change from going gluten free, other than immediately after my colonoscopy prep, but that all came back pretty quickly. The main benefit I have found is less gastric distress and โฆ urgency.
My supper last night was 5 air fried chicken tenders, some instant loaded mashed potatoes, and then some Greek yogurt with grain free granola for dessert. Breakfast this morning was some yellow corn grits with butter, salt, and pepper, pork sausage patties on the side, and a Katz gluten free chocolate chip toaster pastry with orange juice to drink.
I don't generally start drinking my hot tea until right after breakfast and I'm nearly finished drinking the tea now. Coffee is next!
And as the workday has already begun, back to checking on that process I left running overnight to see how much data actually got transferred.

good morning,
Ed, I am glad you are getting some relief from your new diet. Sounds like work is keeping you busy. Jo, very pretty walkway, the dark color is nice. And I like the color of your house. Irene, sorry you're in pain, is there something that can be done for that, or do you have to wait it our? I hope you are able to get some relief soon.
It's currently 63F, 17C. A mix of clouds and sun. High near 80F, 27C. Winds NW at 5 to 10 mph. Looks like it's going to be really hot through Saturday. I opened our bedroom window last night to cool the room off a bit. Nice to get some outside air while sleeping. I have an appt with my rheumatologist late this afternoon. Will see what else the day brings. Wishing all a happy ๐ชday. โ ๐บ๐ค๐ป๐๏ธ

Howdy all y'all. It's wonderful Wednesday!
We have 19 (Celsius) sunny degrees with an expected mostly cloudy high of 29 and 18% chance of precipitation.
Joanne, that walkway looks great!
Irene, I hope they can do something about the kidney stones soon.
Work is keeping me busy for sure. I am just now taking a break for a minute to post here. The process Ruby is helping me test has been running overnight and still going strong. There are still some issues with it but I'm writing those up and the programmer is fixing them as we move along.
Back to it for about half an hour and then it will be time to feed the felines, so I'll get a short break for that.

It's currently 62F, 17C. A mix of clouds and sun. High around 80F, 27C. HOT! Winds ESE at 10 to 15 mph. I'm glad I saw my rheumatologist yesterday. She helped me put together my plan for managing pain for now, and I'll have a better way to move forward after taking some meds for a couple of weeks. I have a massage scheduled for this morning. Looking forward to that. Wishing all a lovely day, looking at the bright side. ๐ค๏ธ๐บ๐ค๐ป๐๏ธ

Good morning;
It is currently 55F with a high of 70F and sunny. Vix-I hope the meds help with your pain. Enjoy your massage. The masons are here today working on the patio behind the garage. They worked on the garage apron yesterday. Hopefully they will be finished by Friday. I have been going into work very early so I can be home when they start work. Enjoy your day!๐

Well, I'm incredibly late posting today. Early in the morning I got a legitimate fraud alert from one of my banks, regarding an attempted $13 and change charge from Shein. I replied that it wasn't me and when I checked the bank online, I saw a pending "hold" post for almost $550 from Starlink Internet, which I do not use and even if I did would not have charged to that debit/credit card.
The bank had locked the card down as soon as I had replied that the Shein purchase wasn't me, so I had to call the bank to ensure that the big charge wasn't going to go through or dispute it if it already had.
They said it had not gone through so no dispute would be necessary. We cancelled the existing card and they'll be sending me a brand spanking new one. I have no idea how this card became compromised, but I am watching all my cards and accounts closely. The only time this card wasn't physically with me was while it was locked in a locker at the sauna, but it doesn't really seem likely that anyone working there would have been getting in my locker and copying credit card information, but when we go back I am planning to only bring one card and my ID and maybe leave my wallet in the car under the seat, or even at home.
Anyway, I'll skip the weather report this time and just say dinner last night was slow cooked beef chuck short ribs, rice, and some steamed broccoli. Breakfast was some fried rice and pork sausage patties, and lunch today was the leftover short ribs, with rice and a roll, and dessert was a small sweet (I forget the variety) yellow grapefruit.
Back to work!

Ed, I would think about the last places you used that credit card. Mine was once compromised at a beauty salon. Also, Starlink makes me wonder if you used that card for a gov't service. I don't trust the access to gov't records right now.

That's the funny thing. I ONLY use that card at the veterinarian office or at PetSmart. In neither place is it out of my sight. It's the card I use for the cats.

Howdy all y'all. It's fantastic Friday!
We have 17 (Celsius) sunny degrees with an expected mostly sunny high of 28 and 33% chance of scattered thunderstorms.
Sounds like a pretty nice day if we don't get the thunderstorms.
There is some laundry I should get started, but it's not critical.
Supper yesterday was some felafels from the freezer and homemade tzatziki. Breakfast was gluten free oatmeal power waffles, maple syrup, and sausage patties, with orange juice to drink.
Work beckons.

Ed, either place could have had their systems compromised. Mine was not out of my sight either, and that was the only place I had used it at the time. Sorry about that. Hope it's all cleared up. You make a nice variety of dinners! We went out last night. I had a salad with roasted vegetables in it, and a glass of Proseco. Jo, I hope all the work gets done today, and you can enjoy the beautiful new patio! Irene, hope you're feeling better.
It's currently 70F, 21C. Partly cloudy. A stray afternoon thunderstorm is possible. High near 85F,29C. Winds WSW at 10 to 15 mph. A summer day. We will be going to a craft session with our granddaughter at her preschool, and then I have an appt for a cranio-sacral massage. That's a new one for me. So it should be a fun and interesting day. Wishing all an easy Friday. ๐ค๏ธ๐๐ค๐ป๐๏ธ๐ท

It's currently 65F , 18C. Partly cloudy skies this morning. Thunderstorms likely during the afternoon. A few storms may be severe. High 81F, 27C. Winds SW at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 80%. Really nice out for the moment.
It was fun seeing all the children at the preschool yesterday. Lilly painted a small wooden bird house and drew some pictures. The cranio-sacral therapy was interesting, not really a massage, but brought out different feelings in my body. I'll go back in a couple of weeks. I think our grandson has a soccer game this morning. Our other granddaughter was sent home from preschool yesterday, she has strep, hopefully feeling better soon with the antibiotics. Will see what else the day brings. Wishing all a fun weekend. ๐ค๏ธ๐ผ๐๐ค๐ป๐๏ธ

Howdy all y'all. It's satisfying (and probably soggy) Saturday!
We have 17 (Celsius) partly cloudy degrees with an expected cloudy high of 20 and 100% chance of precipitation, the forecast calling for heavy thunderstorms. Lovely.
I need to get out to the grocery today, if I can, as we are going to try another sauna day tomorrow.
I did already get out today for Ruby's canned food, and to stop at Walgreen's on the way home. So those two stops won't be needed later. I should be able to just go to Kroger for necessities, then come back home.
A friend may be stopping by to go to a plant nursery with Jason, and then the big farmers market. I declined the trip to the plant nursery as I need to go shopping. Assuming I'm finished and back home by the time they are through there, I may go to the market with them, and then to our favorite Thai restaurant.
I really would rather not have that folded into what was already looking to be a somewhat busy, and rainy weekend, but there it is. She may look at the weather report and change her mind anyway.
Supper last night was a Blake's gluten free beef shepherd's pie. It tasted OK but there didn't seem to be any gravy, and most of the beef was crammed onto one side of the dish with the other side all mashed potatoes and corn. The corn was really good corn, but I usually don't have corn in my shepherd's (or cottage) pie, preferring peas and carrots. So to me, it was missing peas, carrots, and gravy, and the layers were badly executed. It was all right, but since my shepherd's pie (and cottage pie) are not difficult to make, and are naturally gluten free anyway, I won't be buying this one again. Tasty enough but not worth the price to me for what ended up being somewhat disappointing.
Breakfast was air fried chicken tenders and some cheesy hominy grits.
My coffee is calling to me.

Afternoon update.
I got the shopping done, and didn't get too wet. While at Kroger I picked up some baked chicken for my lunch and ate that after putting away all the groceries.
Jason and Genie are probably just leaving the nursery and may be home shortly to see if I want to come along to the farmers' market. I may go just to keep him from going nuts buying fruit. We have a lot of grapefruit and blood oranges to eat up already and there's not much space to store much more fresh fruit anyway!
I didn't buy any squash at the grocery as we can get that at the market. I may also need to keep him from going nuts with vegetables. Only the amount we'll eat in the next week or so! I bought some Mexican gray squash a month or so ago and he's been buying it again when we see it and loving it. It tastes like zucchini but maybe a bit milder and sweeter. Looks like a grayed out zucchini too.

Good evening;
It was a beautiful day. The temps. got up to 82F but there was a nice breeze. We went to the nursery and got some plants for the front of the house to replace the damaged ones. They should be put in sometime within the next week or so depending on the weather. Contractors should be finished cleaning up on Monday and the patio will be all set for use. Ed-sorry you credit card was compromised. It was good that it was caught quickly. Vix-I hope Maddie feels better soon. I hope the therapy helps with your pain. Irene-I hope you are feeling better.
If is doesn't rain my daughter and I are going to the first SOWA open market of the season tomorrow. Have a good evening.๐

Ed, farmers market sounds nice. Jo, it was a beautiful day here too. What kind of plants did you get? Are you excited about your new patio? Thanks for the well wishes. Have fun at the market if you go. Irene, hope you are feeling better.
It's currently 61F, 16C, raining. Thunderstorms last night. Cloudy with rain this morning...then a chance of an isolated thunderstorm in the afternoon. High 72F, 22C. Winds SE at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 100%. We went to our grandson's soccer game yesterday morning. I cleaned the bathrooms and did some laundry (which I had forgotten to do on Friday). Don't know if Maddie is well enough for our son and family to visit today, but will go with whatever happens. Wishing all a peaceful Sunday. ๐ง๏ธโ๐๐ค๐ป๐๏ธ

We did go to the farmers market, and on to the Thai restaurant yesterday so I got my exercise in with all the shopping. Fortunately the rain stopped for the late afternoon and early evening so we didn't get the thunderstorms until late evening when we were watching TV with the felines.
Breakfast today was my leftover pork pad see ew from the Thai restaurant.
Sauna this afternoon.

Good morning,

Scam of the Week
It's No Secret That This Cash Grab Is a Scam
In this weekโs scam, someone calls you claiming to be a representative of a big retailer, such as Amazon. They warn you that criminals have taken over your account and are using it for illegal activities. You are told that you will be transferred to a government agent who is investigating the account. The agent claims that the criminals have also compromised your bank account and have access to all your money.
The agent informs you that all your money could be stolen unless you follow their instructions. They tell you they will protect your money if you withdraw cash from your bank and give it to a courier. The agent claims that your mobile device and computer could also be compromised, and that you should avoid telling anyone what youโre doing. However, the representative and government agent are actually both scammers. There was never any illegal activity on your account, and the only way your money will be gone forever is if you give it to them!
Follow these tips to avoid falling victim to this type of scam:
Be aware that scammers often use fear and urgency to trick you into making impulsive decisions. Always stop and think before taking action!
Be suspicious if someone asks you to keep information secret from your family or spouse. Scammers will try to isolate you so that they can trick you more easily.
You should always use caution when providing personal or financial information to anyone. And remember, a real government agent or customer service representative will never ask you for cash, especially over the phone.
