Howdy all y'all. It's satisfying Saturday!
We have 18 (Celsius) mostly cloudy degrees with an expected cloudy high of 24 and 18% chance of precipitation.
Nothing critical on the agenda. Yesterday, Jason put some of the plants outside, finally. We feel pretty sure that the freezing weather has passed. The greening has begun, as tree pollen is starting to coat everything, turning my blue van an icky shade of powdered green.
Lunch yesterday was the leftover orange tofu with veggie fritters, for both of us. For after work snack/dinner appetizers, I had some Schär entertainment crackers with sharp Cheddar Pub Cheese spread on them. Jason had some tortilla chips with a small bowl of our homemade Guacamole dip.
Then for dinner, I made chili. Vegetarian for Jason, and ground turkey for me. He had store brand Frito-like scoops with his and I crushed some tortilla chips to dump on mine. We both had a generous amount of Mexican shredded white cheese stirred into the chili too. Dessert was Katz mini cherry pies, just a few bites each of sweetness.
Breakfast was some hot buckwheat cereal and spicy hot sausage patties, juice to wash it all down.
Glad the appointment went well, Irene. Hope the tests have good results.
My empty tea mug beckons.

good morning
Ed, our weather is bouncing around, there is still some freezing in the forecast. I like buckwheat. I made some a couple of weeks ago.
Our family visit was fun yesterday. Our youngest granddaughter is at such a cute age, running around, wanting to do everything and putting out baby words with her sweet little voice. We played outside for a little while. Jo, I included one of my hand made birdhouses with my son's birthday presents. 😉 They liked the chocolate chip cookies too.
It's currently 64F, 18C. Sunshine and clouds mixed. High near 80F, 27C. Winds SSW at 10 to 15 mph. Another summer day. Looks pretty cloudy so far. Just going with the flow today. Wishing all a relaxing Sunday. ☕⛅💐🤞🏻🕊️

Howdy all y'all. It's sumptuous (and possibly soggy) Sunday!
We have 17 (Celsius) cloudy degrees with an expected cloudy high of 22 and 70% chance of precipitation that could include thunderstorms.
Regardless, I need to get out for groceries.
Yesterday the Atlanta area had the highest pollen count in 35 years. If we get the rain, that might at least bring the pollen count temporarily down.
I woke up with a slight headache this morning and suspect the pollen count contributed to that.
My supper last night was a Lean Cuisine southwestern chicken bowl. It was OK. I had a couple of Jason's oven fries and some buttered bread with it, and a Katz golden creme filled cake (think what a Twinkie USED to taste like) for dessert.
Breakfast was a Katz iced strawberry toaster pastry and some hot, spicy sausage patties. Orange juice to drink.
My tea mug is nearly empty and the cats are ready for breakfast.

Good morning;
Irene-I am glad your doctor visit was good and good luck with your tests.
Vix-Happy birthday to your son. It sounds like you had a good visit.
Ed-your dinner looks good. I have never tried buckwheat.
We had a rainy weekend and it looks to be more of the same today.
We cleaned out a corner of the basement and I have 2 boxes to take to St.Vincents. I also have to return some books to the library and an eye appt. this afternoon.
Have a good day!😀

Howdy all y'all. It's marvelous Monday!
We have 18 (Celsius) cloudy degrees with an expected cloudy high of 21 and 100% (supposedly) chance of precipitation that could include thunderstorms.
We never did get any rain here yesterday, so maybe today!
Supper was gluten free fried chicken tenders and some Katz cinnamon donut holes.
Breakfast today was hominy grits with cheese and chopped bacon, and the rest of the marble cake loaf I opened a few days ago, all washed down with a small bottle of orange juice.
Well, back to work!

Irene, good luck with your next tests . Ed, we eat less processed/prepackaged food, stick more to the basics. Pete buys gluten free bread, cereal, frozen waffles, pizza crusts, and pasta. I generally skip most of it, but have a gluten free skinny bagel or some of the pasta at times. You can get higher protein pasta by buying the chickpea or quinoa pasta. I don't know if they have the Katz gluten free brand here, don't think I've ever seen it. Sorry you're getting headaches, hope you feel better soon. Thanks, Jo, we did have a good visit. 💗 Good for you for cleaning out some things to donate. Good luck with your eye Dr. visit.
It's currently 65F, 18C. Light rain this morning. Scattered thunderstorms for the afternoon. A few storms may be severe. High 78F, 26C. Winds SSW at 10 to 20 mph. Chance of rain 60%. It was drizzly, but the sun is peeking out now, at least for a little while. Our weeping cherry and 2 other of our cherry trees are blooming, also the cherry trees lining the road into our development. They're beautiful, no need to go to DC to see them.
No special plans for today, doing some laundry and will see what the day brings. Wishing all a bright shiny new week. ☕🌞🌂🤞🏻💐🕊️

It's currently 39F, 4C. Sunny. High 56F, 13C. Winds NNW at 10 to 20 mph. Cooler again, nice and sunny!
I spent some time outdoors yesterday to enjoy the weather, ran some errands, etc. Stained glass is cancelled this morning, the room we use needs some repairs in the ceiling, but clay time is still on. Looks like a nice day ahead. Wishing all a fine Tuesday. 🌞💐🤞🏻🕊️

Howdy all y'all. It's terrific Tuesday!
We have 7 (Celsius) sunny degrees with an expected mostly sunny high of 25 and 2% chance of precipitation.
I'll be seeing the glaucoma specialist today for testing, as there is a possibility of progression toward Normal Pressure Glaucoma.
When I get home from that I will probably nap because my eyes are likely to be dilated.

Good afternoon;
It is currently 50F and sunny.
Vix-Our trees are just starting to bud. My eye appt. went well, with our new insurance I only had to pay a $10.00 co-pay.😀
Ed-good luck with your eye appt. Do you use drops for your glaucoma? I had Trabeculoplasty done twice to reduce the pressure in my eyes. It seems to have worked.
I am going to sit on the deck and enjoy the sunshine and my tea. Have a good afternoon.

The glaucoma specialist says I don't, as yet, have glaucoma and will want more pictures in 6 months, so that visit went well but my eyes are still dilated. That always lasts hours and hours for me.

Howdy all y'all. It's wonderful Wednesday!
We have 17 (Celsius) cloudy degrees with an expected partly cloudy high of 27 and 30% chance of precipitation. Any precipitation could include thundershowers.
@Vix, if you don't see Katz brand gluten free at your groceries, you can order direct from the company. I found the same for Schär, and have placed orders with both companies to get things I can't find locally.
Katz is at
.Schär is at Schär | Made with the best of us.
I'm on prep for tomorrow's colonoscopy, so that's no fun. At least I was allowed a solid, low fiber breakfast today, but no solid food after 10:00. Clear fluids the rest of the day. I have chicken broth if needed, and apple juice, and can have more tea later in the day.
Supper last night was a huge salad with a couple of chopped, boiled eggs in it.
For breakfast I had scrambled eggs and a couple of Van's gluten free waffles for breakfast, and some orange juice.
It's going to be a hungry day.

Jo, glad your eye appt went well. That's good insurance! Wow, I didn't know there is a procedure to help with that. Nice to sit out in the sun on pretty days. Ed, good that you don't have glaucoma. They checked after 6 months the first time they found the precondition with me, now I'm back to yearly. Hi Irene.
A bowl I got out of the kiln yesterday needs to be refired, it had some misses in the glaze, and a cup that I was experimenting with glass globs, came our with craters at the bottom, don't know if that's fixable. I could always put a plant in it. The pie plate that was waiting to dry, cracked, so I set up another one. I took home a small bowl and a cup without a handle, put a couple of small bowls to be bisque fired.
It's currently 39F, 4C. Partly cloudy skies this morning will become overcast during the afternoon. High 58F, 14C. Winds SE at 10 to 20 mph. Wishing all a happy 🐪day. ⛅👓🥸👩🏻🎨💐🤞🏻🕊️

hi everyone,
Vix are you doing ceramics? I use to do those years ago but I don't think there are any more shops they were so much fun.
Yesterday my dr put me on a heart monitor for 2 weeks to see why I get light headed wish me luck. I tried gluten free pasta once didn't like it but that had to be at least 6 years ago and I am sure it has gotten a lot better
take care

Howdy all y'all. It's thrilling Thursday!
We have 17 (Celsius) fair degrees with an expected partly cloudy high of 29 and 14% chance of precipitation.
I'm up early to finish prep for today's colonoscopy.
I think I'll browse the Katz and Schär websites to see if I am ready to place another order from either of them. I got some Entertainment Crackers from Schär on my last order that are really quite nice. Not as nice as a Ritz cracker, but pretty good, and gluten free.
Nothing on the agenda except the colonoscopy and then some FOOD!

Irene, those ceramics shops are fun. We sart with raw clay and build our own objects. I hand build, use molds, or use the potters wheel. So basically I can make anything I'm capable of putting together. It's fun, but sometimes I run out of inspiration. Good luck with the heart monitor. I hope your Dr can figure out what the problem is and help you fix it. Ed, good luck with your colonoscopy today! Good for you for taking care of that. Didn't realize you were buying the gluten free products from websites. Good way to get what they don't have in stores. Jo, I hope you're getting a chance to relax.
It's currently 54F, 12C. Showers early, then cloudy in the afternoon. High 76F, 24C. Winds SW at 10 to 20 mph. Chance of rain 60%. I picked up some new books at the library yesterday, and we went to Frederick, just to browse through stores. I have a massage appointment this morning, and will see what else the day brings. Wishing all a pleasant Thursday. ☕🌧️☁️💐🤞🏻🕊️

Good afternoon;
Ed-good luck with your colonoscopy.
Irene-good luck with the heart monitor. I hope you find some answers soon.
Vix-Sorry you had problems with your clay.
It is currently 53F and cloudy. We woke up to heavy rain this morning. It has now stopped but it is windy.
Wishing you all a great day!

Late afternoon update.
The colonoscopy was fairly easy, aside from the prep and the condition it left me in. I went in with a raging headache that is still lurking, and stuffy nose from all the pollen. The procedure only took about 45 minutes, and there was very little recovery time as I chose to not have anesthesia. They found one polyp and it has been sent off for biopsy. If it looks good, I may be able to wait 5 years before my next one.
When I got out, I had some gluten free animal crackers and half a small bottle of water, then we came home and Jason started his workday and I had some cheese and crackers, then laid down and did my best to deal with the inevitable bloating after a colonoscopy. Most of that has settled down now. Orion had a lovely nap with me. A little while ago I got up, had some blueberry granola cereal, and a piece of gluten free bread.
Now I'm catching up on email and socials. I took the whole day off, of course.
And trying to get my sinuses under control. I took my allergy pill as soon as I got home.

Howdy all y'all. It's fabulous Friday!
We have 18 (Celsius) partly cloudy degrees with an expected mostly cloudy high of 20 and 4% chance of precipitation.
I'm still feeling a bit washed out and wobbly. Prep for a colonoscopy is rough on a diabetic, but I made it through and am eating solid food again. YAY! Dinner last night was Kroger Simple Truth Organic brand gluten free pizza. So breakfast this morning was my leftover pizza. Not sure what I'll make for lunch today, maybe mac and cheese. Jason has some leftover fried rice from what he made Wednesday night while I was on clear liquids only. He made enough for three plates and had one Wednesday night, one for his Thursday lunch (I had a light snack of cheese and crackers after the colonoscopy) and since I felt up for pizza last night, he has the last plate of fried rice for today's lunch.
I'll be working today, but hoping for a light workday.

Jo, thanks, clay can be tricky. A lot depends on the consistency of the clay and the temperature and humidity while it's drying. It happens. We had some heavy rain this morning about 4 a.m., knocked some of the petals off the flowering trees. I see the redbuds are starting to bloom! They are also one of my favorites. Irene, I hope all is going well with the heart monitor. Ed, I'll bet you're glad that's over. Hope you've recovered from your headache and the digestive issues. it usually takes me a few days to get back to normal after that.
It's currently 62F, 17C. Cloudy with rain ending for the afternoon. High 66F,. Winds N at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 90%. I was notified this week by two of my medical organizations that have been hacked of our personal information. . Another bane of modern technology. I get a year of complimentary identity theft protection services, but it doesn't make me feel much better. I have some cleaning to do, and may work on some stained glass foiling. Will see what the day brings. Wishing all an easy Friday. ☕🌧️💐🤞🏻🕊️

The headache is somewhat better, but still some digestive issues. I'll give that a couple more days to resolve. Not that I have a lot of choice. LOL.

Good afternoon;
Ed-Glad that you are recovering after your procedure. I think the prep is worse than the procedure. Vix-I am sorry to hear you personal info has been hacked. It was good that they gave you the complimentary ID theft protection. Irene-How are you doing with the monitor?
It is currently 66F and sunny. I sat out on the deck and read for a while. Starting tomorrow we are in for more rain and a huge drop in temps. We also trimmed some dead branches from our arborvitaes. We now have a huge pile of branches waiting to be burned. Until we get to it the birds are enjoying the pile of branches. Have a good afternoon.😀

Ed, glad you're starting to feel better. Jo, it happens. More so, lately. Glad you got a chance to sit on your deck, read, and relax for a while. I don't think we're allowed to burn yard waste here, but our town schedules a pickup about monthly. I think they grind it into mulch and recycle it. Irene, hope all is well.
It's currently 58F, 14C, overcast. Scattered thunderstorms developing this afternoon. High 72F, 22C. Winds SE at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 40%. I did some cleaning and laundry yesterday, baked some squash for meals later on. Don't know where the time goes. We're having a family get together this afternoon. I'll see if I can bake some cookies for the little ones. Wishing all a fun, relaxing weekend. ☕☁️💐🤞🏻🕊️

Howdy all y'all. It's satisfying Saturday!
We have 23 (Celsius) partly cloudy degrees with an expected partly cloudy high of 30 and 2% chance of precipitation.
Good to hear from you Irene. Hope all is going well.
Hi, Joanne!
You know, Vix, big people like cookies too. 😉
We need to take Ruby to the vet today for a re-check on the mites and roundworms, though she has another dose of worm medicine in a week anyway.
She is still zooming around with all that kitten energy and having a grand time chasing Orion (who does not want to play with her but is very slowly, maybe, coming around) and Dinah is starting to play with Ruby a bit, but not as much as Ruby would like. Fortunately we have plenty of kitty toys for them and Ruby has already pulled at least one out of the open top box of spare toys, and found some that had been under furniture.
I really should get some laundry started this weekend but don't know if I want to do that today. We'll see. Still trying to take it easy a bit.
My dinner last night was Caulipower brand chicken tenders, breaded with a gluten free cauliflower blend. They are tasty enough and I suppose I can get used to them but may try my hand at breading and air frying my own, using an all-purpose gluten free flour blend without the cauliflower. Dessert was a Katz creme filled chocolate cupcake.
Breakfast was hominy grits, bacon, and Van's gluten free waffles.

Ed, I know, but children are a great excuse for making cookies! 😂 I hope Ruby's getting healthier, sounds like she's settling in with her new life and new pals. Good to take it easy for a few days after a procedure. I know they make gluten free panko, but we haven't tried it, might work well for chicken tenders. Irene, rainy here too. Hope all is going well with your monitor. Jo, hope you're having a relaxing weekend.
It's currently 54F, 12C.A steady rain this morning. Showers continuing this afternoon. Thunder possible. High around 55F, 13C. Winds N at 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 90%. Quite gloomy looking outdoors. We had a nice time visiting with family yesterday. I love spending time with our children and our daughter-in-law. It's fun to see the little cousins together, I hope they'll be close as they grow up. 💗 Will see what today brings. Wishing all a relaxing Sunday. ☕🌧️💐🤞🏻🕊️

Howdy all y'all. It's sumptuous Sunday!
We have 22 cloudy degrees with an expected high of 24 and 77% chance of precipitation that could include strong thunderstorms. The forecast calls for the clouds to start breaking up after about 2:00.
Regardless, I need to get out to the store today for groceries. I don't think I need any kitty supplies this week. After Ruby's vet visit we got de-wormer into the adult cats just in case, as they do all share litter boxes. We'll keep an eye on that situation, of course.
Dinner last night was pizza that I ordered in. Jason had a large extra cheese pizza, and I had a small (the only size available for the gluten free crust) ancient grains crust pizza with sausage, hamburger, and onion toppings. It was really good, though I had some anxiety about gluten contamination. I'm sure they try to keep it away from wheat flour but they don't recommend it for people with severe gluten intolerance because it is prepared and baked in an environment where there are a lot of wheat crust pizzas also being prepared and baked, using the same counters and oven.
No overnight problems so keeping my fingers crossed!
I was a pig and ate all my small pizza, so breakfast was a warmed-up Katz honeybun and some pork sausage patties with a small bottle of orange juice.
