    Good morning;

Ed-I hope you feel better soon. Thanks for the spam alerts.

    Hi Irene and Vix.

It is currently 44F with a high of 52F and sunny. I got outside and raked the yard a little. There is so much debris from the winter. I may try and do a little more today. Some of my flowers are starting to poke out of the earth, crocus, tulips and daylillies.

    Enjoy your day!πŸ˜€

    good morning

Jo, good for you for getting out and doing yard work. Pete does pretty much all of ours, yesterday he was moving some plants around and putting out some mulch. I went out to lunch with a friend and then we went to the Clarksburg outlets. We had never been there before. It's really large with lots of high end stores. The weather was nice and it was good to walk around. Hi Ed and Irene.

It's currently 48F, 9C. Cloudy with rain developing this afternoon. Thunder possible. High 69F, 21C. Winds S at 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 80%. Warm! I have a massage appt this morning, need it! Wishing all a pleasant day. β˜•πŸŒžβ˜οΈπŸŒ¨οΈπŸͺ»πŸ’πŸ€žπŸ»πŸ•ŠοΈ

Howdy all y'all. It's thrilling Thursday!

We have 13 (Celsius) partly cloudy degrees with an expected windy high of only 14 and 15% chance of precipitation.

I have my annual optical medical exam this afternoon so will be taking off at lunchtime. I know they'll dilate my eyes so will probably take a nap when I get home, as the bright lights will be a bother for a while after.

Nothing else critical on the agenda.

Supper was corn chip scoop nachos, made with store brand corn chip scoops, rather than Frito brand. It was easy, tasty, gluten free, and filling. Dessert was a mini pack of gluten free Oreos, just two cookies.

Breakfast was some grain free coconut almond granola with Greek yogurt, the last of the almond flour frozen biscuits (which I won't be buying again - too expensive and not overly thrilled with the taste and texture), some warmed up Spam and a small glass of orange/mango juice.

    Back to work!

    Good afternoon;

It is currently 54F and cloudy. It rained a little this morning, but we will get the majority of the rain tomorrow.

Ed-have you noticed a big difference now that you are eating gluten free? Good luck at the eye doctor.

Vix-Enjoy your massage. I miss having a massage. The person we use to go to moved to Colorado during Covoid and we haven't found anyone new to go to.

Hi Irene-I hope you and George are doing well.

    Enjoy your day!

Well, apparently quoting still doesn't work.

Joanne, I can't say a BIG difference with gluten free, but definitely some improvement on how much gastric distress I experience. There are still some GERD issues I'm dealing with and we'll see how well I do with those.

I do find some gluten free alternatives to be somewhat disappointing, but that was to be expected. I will continue trying things. I have at least found some bread that is acceptable, and even some crackers. I was very pleased to find Katz gluten free toaster pastries, and they are definitely a keeper.

The almond flour biscuits were OK, but not going to be a favorite, and the almond flour chocolate cake was a bit heavy. I have another mix of that and may add a little additional baking powder and a splash of white vinegar or lemon juice to see if it helps. The taste was fine.

The doctor didn't see anything to cause immediate worry, but was a bit concerned about the size of the cups for the optic nerve in each eye, thinking they looked just a little bigger than in the past, and wants a glaucoma specialist to run some more tests, to rule out the possibility (or treat, if necessary) normal pressure glaucoma.

Howdy all y'all. It's fabulous Friday!

We have 2 (Celsius) sunny degrees (feels like -2) with an expected sunny high of 17 and 1% chance of precipitation.

For supper last night I made vegetarian shipwreck casserole. This particular version had potato slices, onion, bell pepper, garlic powder, chili beans, and lots of cheese. It was pretty good. The spicy hot chili beans gave it a nice little kick, but the potatoes and cheese kept it from being overly spicy.

Breakfast was hot buckwheat groats with honey and cinnamon, warmed up Spam, and orange juice.

It's the last day of the work week, and I am looking forward to the weekend.

    good morning

Ed, hope your eye exam went well. Jo, we had some rain last night. I definitely need my massages. They really help keep me mobile (easing pain) and help with sleep. Irene, hope all is well.

Pete and I went out to a new Japanese restaurant in town last night. We were very careful in ordering and specifically requested and got confirmed about gluten free, but something slipped through. So it was a bad night, Pete got so sick, it's really awful. He has medication for it, and is feeling better this morning. Needless to say, we won't go back there.

It's currently 34F, 1C. Sunny skies. Gusty winds during the morning. High 56F, 13C. Winds WNW at 20 to 30 mph. Winds could occasionally gust over 40 mph. I'm going to stop at the library today, finally finished that book, and there's another to pick up. Need to do some cleaning around the house and will see what else the day brings. Wishing all an easy Friday. β˜•πŸŒžπŸͺ»πŸ€žπŸ»πŸ•ŠοΈ

It's currently 41F, 5C. Sunshine and clouds mixed. High 64F, 18F. Winds WSW at 15 to 25 mph. Higher wind gusts possible. Yesterday I cleaned the bathrooms, did some laundry, went to the library to exchange books, stopped at Walmart to pick up a card and some toiletries, balanced the checkbook, etc. We made corned beef and cabbage for dinner (late St. Pat's day!). Will see what today brings.

We have 6 (Celsius) sunny degrees (feels like 4) with an expected sunny high of 22 and 0% chance of precipitation.

We are taking Ruby for her "new pet" vet visit today and may run out to the nearest big international grocery.

Great to hear from you Irene. Hope all is going well you you and yours.

We got Ruby all examined and the only apparent issue was mites in her ears. We got Advantage+ doses for her, Orion, and Dinah to take care of that.

After dosing all the felines we went to the nearest large international market and bought some veggies. For a light supper I fried some Mexican frying cheese, and then stir fried a Poblano pepper, two cherry peppers and a Cipollini onion. It was all very tasty. We have more of all those things and may make this again, and have scrambled eggs with it maybe.

Irene, I hope you and George are doing well. Ed, your dinner looks good. I thought it was tofu at first. Jo, I hope you and Charlie are doing well.

It's currently 31F, -1C. A mix of clouds and sun. High 54F, 12C. Winds W at 5 to 10 mph. Right now it's sunny, and I'm looking out at our maple tree with all the red buds where the new leaves will be, just glowing in the sunshine. I have been feeling very tired lately, and my weight control is a disaster at the moment. But it's a new day, another chance. Will see what the day brings.

Howdy all y'all. It's sumptuous Sunday!

The felines let me sleep in until 8:40.

We have 18 (Celsius) sunny degrees with an expected sunny high of 25 and 0% chance of precipitation.

Sounds like a lovely day and I WILL get out in it, if only for groceries.

Breakfast was some grain free coconut vanilla granola mixed with full fat Greek yogurt, and a small bottle of orange juice.

Sipping my coffee now, pondering whether to go to one grocery or several.

Howdy all y'all. It's marvelous Monday!

We have 13 (Celsius) cloudy degrees with an expected cloudy high of 19 and 92% chance of rain. I see damp sidewalks so apparently there has been some rain. My joints agree with the forecast.

Supper last night was the rest of the package of frying cheese and more peppers, finishing off the cherry peppers, one Poblano, and a nice chunk of green bell pepper. I had two gluten free Oreo cookies for my dessert.

    Back to the grindstone.

    good morning

Ed, gluten free isn't too hard once you get used to it. I think desserts, and using the flour is the hardest part because it just bakes differently. And it's harder when you go out. I had a protein shake for breakfast yesterday, and think I'll do the same today. Last night was leftovers so I made myself a bowl of mixed veggies with some black beans and buckwheat for protein, added some garam masala spice. Trying to get myself back on track.

Yesterday, I did some laundry and took my daughter's 2 children to the playground to give her a little break. They have so much energy!!!

It's currently 44F, 7C, overcast. Rain showers this morning with some sunshine during the afternoon hours. High 61F, 16C. Winds SW at 10 to 20 mph. Chance of rain 60%. Will see what the day brings.

Hyacinths and daffodils! Yesterday I took care of some paperwork, ran some errands. More birds are coming for Spring, I'm hearing different songs. The bluebirds are nesting in one of our birdhouses in the front yard( in a locust tree).

It's currently 44F, 7C. Sunshine early followed by cloudy skies this afternoon. High 61F, 16C. Winds W at 10 to 20 mph. It's craft day, so I'm busy.

Howdy all y'all. It's terrific Tuesday!

We have 5 (Celsius) sunny degrees with an expected toasty, sunny high of 26 and 2% chance of precipitation. We never did get very much rain yesterday, but I guess it was enough to be part of the 92%.

I ordered two pairs of new glasses, at a cost of $952.40 total, for both pairs. They should be ready in a couple of weeks.

After seeing the optometrist, I did a little shopping and have some new, exciting gluten free things in the freezer, including Katz cinnamon sugar donut holes and a couple of pot pies. Also some cauliflower encrusted chicken tenders. Once the groceries were put away, I did a very small amount of house cleaning.

Supper last night was a small serving of pork barbecue and gluten free ciabatta rolls. Breakfast was a Katz brown sugar cinnamon toaster pastry (I need to order some more, these are great!) and the last of the Spam in the house, warmed up in the microwave oven. I've been eating too much Spam and deliberately did not buy more when shopping on Sunday.

    Work beckons.

    Good morning;

It is currently 36F with a high of 49F. I had to work on Monday and it has thrown me all off schedule. I have a derm appt. this morning for my annual skin check. After my appt. I will stop at Trader Joes for a few things. Then it is back home to meet a mason to get an estimate on a new walkway. Never a dull moment.

I have already changed the bed linen and did two loads of laundry.

Vix- so far I have a few crocus blooming. All my other flowers are just poking through the soil.

    Ed-glasses are so expensive.

    Hi Irene-glad you checked in.

    Have a great day!πŸ˜€

Howdy all y'all. It's wonderful Wednesday!

We have 9 (Celsius) sunny degrees with an expected sunny high of 22 and 1% chance of precipitation.

After work yesterday, we went to a Korean grocery some distance away and picked up some fruit and veggies that are all over the counters and even the stove, for the most part, but we'll be working on that. The plan is to have more stir fry dishes and the like if we feel up to it, and Jason wants to make homemade guacamole, which we haven't done in quite a while. I need to get some tortilla chips while I am out this afternoon.

I have an appointment this afternoon to discuss a colonoscopy because it's time for my next one, and I need to stop by the vet to pick up some de-wormer for Ruby (roundworms) and get to a grocery for a few things. The fun never ends!

    good morning

Ed, we have a lot of stir fry dishes, they're pretty simple and quick. Glasses are expensive. Good luck with your appt this afternoon. Jo, good luck with your derm appt today. Have fun shopping at Trader Joe's, and good luck with the mason for your new walkway. Irene, good to hear from you.

My craft day was pretty good yesterday, not making anything exciting. I forgot to bring the stained glass pattern that I wanted to start, so I'll do that next time. Finished up the last blue bird I was making as a gift, and cut out a butterfly. Just making some simple hand built bowls and a cup in pottery.

It's currently 45F ,7C. A mix of clouds and sun. High near 50F, 10C.. Winds WNW at 15 to 25 mph. Higher wind gusts possible. I have some laundry to do and will see what else the day brings. Wishing all a happy πŸͺ day. β˜•β›…πŸͺ»πŸ€žπŸ»πŸ•ŠοΈ

Howdy all y'all. It's thrilling Thursday!

We have 6 (Celsius) sunny degrees with an expected sunny high of 24 and 0% chance of precipitation.

My colonoscopy is all set up for next Thursday, so no seeds, excessive fiber, or blood thinners between now and then. Joy.

For dinner last night, we took two Spanish avocados, some tomatoes, some onion, some garlic, a jalapeΓ±o, a lime, and some kosher salt, to make a big bowl of guacamole. We skipped the cilantro because we didn't see any when shopping and both of us can take it or leave it anyway.

Along with the guacamole, we had some homemade cheese dip and some good salsa from a jar. All of those, and most of a bag of tortilla chips, were supper!

Breakfast this morning was some blueberry oatmeal granola. Guess I won't be having more of that until next Friday at the earliest. Some boiled eggs and juice completed my breakfast.

    Back to work.

Ed, that's a quick scheduling for your procedure, good luck with that. Fun dinner, yum guacamole. I bought some avocados. I may use half of one today in tuna salad, instead of mayo.

I did some laundry, took care of some paperwork , can't remember what else, but somehow I was busy all day yesterday. πŸ˜‚

It's currently 32F, 0C. Plentiful sunshine. High 58F, 14C.. Winds WNW at 10 to 15 mph. Chilly this a.m. Will see what the day brings. Wishing all a pleasant day. β˜•πŸŒžπŸͺ»πŸ€žπŸ»πŸ•ŠοΈ

    Good afternoon;

Ed-Wow your colonoscopy was scheduled fast. I made an appt. to see a new Dr. and couldn't get an appt. until Sept. I just got an email and they pushed it back to Jan. 2026. The office said I could call periodically to see if there is a cancellation.

Vix-What do you do with all the pottery that you make?

It is currently45F and sunny. The mason came and measured the walkway and we talked about what I wanted. He is coming back tomorrow with some samples of pavers in two different sizes and to lay out a sample pattern to help me decide. The price was reasonable.

    Enjoy your day!πŸ˜€

Howdy all y'all. It's fabulous Friday!

We have 9 (Celsius) sunny degrees with an expected partly cloudy high of 27 and 1% chance of precipitation.

    Sounds like a beautiful day!

I can feel the weekend coming.

Dessert last night was a small slice of the new SchΓ€r marble cake loaf. It was delicious! Now that it's open, I guess I'll be eating cake for a few days. Jason liked it well enough too, though he only had a bite of my slice. Not heavy at all, with a nice, light, cakey texture, only a little bit crumbly. This is a keeper for when in the mood for cake on a gluten free diet. It would be great to bring to a potluck too, to ensure that there is at least one dessert you can eat!

Breakfast today was a cheeseburger I cooked and served on an Udi gluten free hamburger bun. These buns are decent, but a bit dry. Toasted, with butter, they are better, and either way they work well for a burger.

    Back to work.

Jo, I have some of the pottery as decoration, some I use and some I give away. We've been using the bowls and cups . I put out the bird feeders and bird houses, and give some away, and I use most of the flowerpots or give them away with plants in them. πŸ˜‚ It is building up! Now I can throw them out when they get chipped. Glad the mason gave you a good estimate. Irene, good luck with your appt today. Ed, your tofu dinner looks good. It's currently 44F, 7C. Cloudy skies. Slight chance of a rain shower. High 68F, 20C. Winds SSW at 10 to 15 mph. I have an acupuncture appt this morning, and our housecleaner is coming today. Will see what else the day brings. Wishing all an easy Friday. β˜οΈβ˜•πŸ€žπŸ»πŸ•ŠοΈπŸ·
