I managed to avoid most of the rain, though I did get sprinkled on a bit. I shopped Whole Foods and Ingle's today. I bought this jar of gluten free vegan Kimchi so we could compare to Jason's homemade. We both tasted the one I bought. It seems a bit sweeter than our homemade version, and a touch more sour, but it has had time to ferment. It has smaller pieces of cabbage than our homemade, but still has a nice bit of crunch to it. It IS rather spicy, so that may be a consideration.

I'd recommend it for a taste test. It won't break the bank and could help you decide whether you want to make your own.

    good morning

Ed, we don't have a Whole Foods nearby, but maybe I'll work up my courage to buy some in one of the local stores. 😂

    It's currently 42F, 6C. Sunny. High 66F,19C. Winds WSW at 5 to 10 mph. That's warm!

I finished foiling my project yesterday. Made some spaghetti squash. Did some reading.

Wishing all a bright shiny new week. ☕🌞🌟🤞🏻🕊️

Howdy all y'all. It's magnificent Monday!

We have 7 (Celsius) rainy degrees (feels like 5) with an expected rainy high of 13 and 99% chance of precipitation.

I woke up with rainy day joints and a slight headache. We'll see how the morning goes.

I got that kimchi at Ingle's and have seen it at Kroger as well. I imagine it's available in many grocery store chains. I haven't looked at Publix. Whole Foods (also known as Whole Wallet) was rather disappointing this trip, but they did have some gluten free foods I had not encountered elsewhere, such as the biscuits mentioned below.

Supper last night was a cheese omelet and tater tots. Breakfast this morning was almond flour buttermilk biscuits from the freezer with homemade sausage gravy, and a small bottle of orange juice to wash it all down. The biscuits did taste of the almond flour but were nice and fluffy. Pricy, but I might buy again. At any rate, there are 4 left in the freezer to bake another time.

Bob's Red Mill all purpose 1 for 1 gluten free flour works well for making a roux and the subsequent gravy. It could just be my perception but the country gravy I made seemed fluffier than gravy made with wheat flour. I don't quite know how else to describe that, but it tasted fine and worked well.

Ed, the Bob's Redmill products are usually pretty good. I have a good chocolate chip cookie recipe with almond flour. I also like some of the gluten free products from Weis or Wegman's which are our local stores. I read that it's better to take gluten free flour out of the package with a spoon rather than a large scoop, because it tends to be denser and that helps lighten it up.

    There are hyacinths blooming!

    Scam of the Week

    Free Game, Costly Malware

In this week's scam, cybercriminals are offering a free video game to try to trick you into downloading malware.

They post a job offer online, claiming that if you download a free game, “PirateFi,” you can be paid to monitor the

in-game chat feature. The free download and the promise of payment make this a tempting offer. But remember

that if something seems too good to be true, it usually is!

This  “free” game actually contains malware, and if you download it, cybercriminals can steal information from

your web browser. Once they have stolen it, they can use it to access your online accounts. You won’t actually

receive any form of payment. Instead, the cybercriminals will get paid in one of their favorite currencies – your

    personal data!

Follow these tips to avoid falling victim to a malware scam:

    • Be wary whenever downloading new software or games. Ensure you have updated antivirus software to
    • protect your computer from possible malware.
    • Always be skeptical of free deals and easy money. If the offer seems too good to be true, it usually is.
    • Any job offer requiring you to download software before being hired for the position is likely a scam. Always
    • trust your instincts before clicking and downloading any software, including video games.

There's also a scam email from a group claiming to be Norton, that they just charged you for upgrading your subscription. The phone number takes you to some non-English native speakers with lots of noise in the background. I think they are trying to get access to your computer. Ignore the email.

    good morning

    It's currently 39F, 4C. Plentiful sunshine. High 72F, 22C. Winds SW at 5 to 10 mph.

I'm off to stained glass this morning. And will be going for an echocardiogram this afternoon. Busy day. Wishing all a fine Tuesday. ☕🌞🤞🏻🕊️

Howdy all y'all. It's terrific Tuesday!

We have 4 (Celsius) sunny degrees with an expected toasty, sunny high of 23 and 1% chance of precipitation. I hear the heat running now, but it's possible I may need to let some cooler air in later in the afternoon!

I had a headache most of the day yesterday and woke up with one this morning too. Dinner last night was meatballs with ketchup, and a couple of buttered "Everything" almond flour biscuits. Breakfast this morning was hot buckwheat cereal (Bob's Red Mill) with a little brown sugar and cream, and some warmed-up Spam.

More data analysis at work today. Whee!

    Good afternoon;

It is currently 60F and sunny. I am going out to start raking all the debris from the yard.

The fence guys came this morning and fixed the fence.

Ed-sorry you have a headache. Do you think it is the change in weather? It sounds like the cats

    are getting along fine.

Vix-I get the Norton email and one from Geek squad all the time. I do not subscribe to either.

How did you get rid of the spacing between sentences? I use a Mac book Pro.

    Hi Irene.

    Enjoy your day!😀

Jo, I don't have Apple, but on my laptop, it only makes spaces when I hit enter to go to a new line. If I just keep typing it doesn't make the extra space.

Howdy all y'all. It's wonderful Wednesday!

We have 6 (Celsius) sunny degrees with an expected sunny high of 25 and 2% chance of precipitation.

Sounds like a lovely day to step outside, at least a little later when it warms up a bit. I will probably only be outside to bring the bins back from the curb and to bring the mail in.

Clothes in the dryer to fold, and I have another big load to wash and dry.

Supper yesterday was tamales. Pork, cheese, and green chili for me. Cheese and green chili for Jason. For dessert, Katz gluten free toaster pastries. Frosted strawberry for Jason, frosted brown sugar cinnamon for me.

Breakfast was a bowl of Crispix and some Spam, along with a small bottle of orange juice.

    It's currently 47F, 8C. Sunny to partly cloudy. High 63F, 63, 17C. Winds ESE at 5 to 10 mph.

Jo, hope you didn't work too hard raking up the yard.

Ed, it will be a nice day to go outside. I put a load in the washer this a.m. too. I love Mexican food. I had spaghetti squash for dinner last night.

    Irene, hope all is well.

I'm glad my test is done, I should be getting results in a few days.

    Wishing all a happy 🐪 day. ☕🌞🤞🏻🕊️

Howdy all y'all. It's thrilling Thursday!

We have 11 (Celsius) clear degrees with an expected mostly sunny high of 24 and 32% chance of isolated evening thundershowers.

I still have that load of laundry to fold, and the other load to wash and fold. I just never got around to it during the day and after work my glucose was low enough that I needed a snack so took some cheese and crackers in to watch an episode or two of The Golden Girls and never thought about it again.

Supper last night was salad. I started with a garden salad mix that had a lot of radish slices, added cucumber slices to Jason's bowl (cucumbers repeat on me), chopped boiled eggs to both bowls, then a sprinkle of shredded Chihuahua cheese, potato sticks, croutons, sunflower seed kernels, and generous amounts of my homemade thousand islands style dressing. It was a very filling dinner salad.

Breakfast was brown sugar cinnamon steel cut oatmeal and a small slice of Spam.

    Work beckons.

    good morning

Ed, your salad sounds good. We had turkey burgers last night, simple but tasty. We've been watching Warehouse 13 on prime. It's a fun sci-fi series. Going to miss it when we're done.

    Hi Jo and Irene.

It's currently 40F,4C. completely overcast. Cloudy skies early, followed by partial clearing. High 57F,14C. Winds E at 5 to 10 mph.

I went for another walk up and down Main St yesterday. It was good to be out and enjoy the weather. We have 2 doves visiting our deck. Will see what today brings. Wishing all a fine Thursday. ☕☁️🌥️🤞🏻🕊️

    Good afternoon;

Vix-I hope your test comes back with good news. I watched Warehouse 13, it was a fun series. I just finished watching the first season of The Pitt on Max. It is a medical show on the idea of ER.

Ed-I like tamales. I buy the frozen ones from Trader Joe's.

The temp is currently 46F and sunny.

I just picked up JD Robb's newest book, Bonded in Death at the library. I will be spending the next few days reading.

    Have a good day!

Howdy all y'all. It's fantastic Friday!

We have 11 (Celsius) foggy degrees with an expected cloudy high of 24 and 5% chance of preciptation.

Dinah and I got the whites folded and put away yesterday, and the next load is just about finished in the washer and will move to the dryer shortly, leaving only towels remaining to wash, for the third load.

The dishwasher is running now and the cats are (for the moment) waiting patiently for their 9:30ish breakfast.

Dinner yesterday was Milton's gluten free cauliflower crust pizza from the freezer. One was 4 cheese and the other was roasted veggie. They are a bit on the small side so no leftovers, as we each had half of each pizza. These were really good, if a bit pricy, and I will happily buy them again.

Breakfast was some hot gluten free muesli (Bob's Red Mill) and a couple of pork sausage patties with a small bottle of orange juice.

Back to work, where my computer mysteriously rebooted during the night. I suspect changes to some of our software may have a memory leak and will be running that software in the background today and monitoring memory usage while I test other things.

Ed, I don't think I've seen Milton's pizza around here. I'm running the dishwasher and a load of laundry too. Hi Jo and Irene.

It's currently 40F,4C. Cloudy skies early, then partly cloudy this afternoon. High 57F, 14C. Winds SE at 5 to 10 mph.

I saw the lunar eclipse last night! Cool red moon. Our housecleaner is coming today and I have an acupuncture appt this morning. Will see what else the day brings.

Wishing all an easy Friday and a good weekend (supposed to be warmer for the weekend!) ☕☁️🌥️🤞🏻🕊️

    good morning

It's currently 43F, 6C. Overcast. High 57F, 14C. Winds SSE at 10 to 15 mph. I was hoping for sunshine today. Thunderstorms supposedly coming tomorrow.

I returned some online purchases to TJ Maxx yesterday. I had 2 sessions of retail therapy, I only kept one item out of 4 for my first package. Cute things, but not for me. Waiting for the 2nd package, sandals for summer. I ordered 4 pair, so I know I will not keep them all! I don't do this very often, but I'm glad the store is nearby for easy returns. It was a little chillier yesterday than I expected, but still nice to get out and about.

Wishing all a fine weekend. ☕☁️☁️☁️🤞🏻🕊️

Howdy all y'all. It's satisfying Saturday!

We have 16 (Celsius) cloudy degrees with an expected medium cloudy high of 25 and 6% chance of precipitation.

All the laundry is folded and put away.

Vix, the Milton's pizzas may be available at Publix, Target, or Walmart if you shop in any of those stores.

The cats let me sleep in this morning and I only got up at 8:21 because of a small cramp. I decided I could get up and stay up.

Supper for me last night was some garlic cheese toast and a crustless pizza bowl from Banquet that I got on final markdown. It was all right. I guess the crustless 3 meat pizza bowl was worth the $1.35 that I paid for it.

Breakfast was some warmed up Spam and a packet of Goodie Girl breakfast biscuits, brown sugar cinnamon flavor. Orange juice to wash it down.

I think I may go for a lazy day today.

I don't remember what photo app or web page I used to make this ghost of Eddie past. I think this was originally my senior high school yearbook photo. Found this in my Facebook memories today.

Howdy all y'all. It's sumptuous Sunday!

We have 17 (Celsius) cloudy degrees with an expected mostly sunny high of 22 and 10% chance of precipitation.

Yesterday was not totally lazy. I baked an almond flour chocolate cake from a mix. I put it in too large a pan so it came out more like brownies, but, with my added homemade dark chocolate buttercream frosting, was quite nice for dessert. And, of course, there are leftovers for more desserts.

Dessert for what? I made stir fried cole slaw with onion and fried tofu for dinner. The sauce was just soy sauce, sriracha, sweet chili sauce and black pepper. Served over jasmine rice this was a tasty and very filling meal. We waited a while before I served cake.

Breakfast this morning was some cold muesli, stirred with milk and greek yogurt, and after soaking for about 15 minutes, sweetened with just a drizzle of honey. Then some warmed Spam and a small bottle of orange juice.

Grocery shopping is on the agenda.

    good morning

Ed, my Dad would always say "Beware the Ides of March". Unfortunately, that's when he passed away. Tofu dinner sounds good. Dessert is always good!

I tried eating more whole grains yesterday, so of course my weight is up today. 😞 I have laundry to do, and may go out later. It's currently 63F, 17C, overcast. Scattered thunderstorms during the morning, then windy this afternoon with more widespread storms. A few storms may be severe. High 66F, 19C. Winds SSE at 20 to 30 mph. Chance of rain 60%.

It is currently 65F and windy. The sun is trying to make an appearance.

Nothing much going on here. My daughter visited for a while yesterday. This morning we went to Ocean State Job lot. I got a new pair of sunglasses and new snow shovels. Our old shovels had seen better days.

    Enjoy your day!

    good morning

Jo, always lovely to spend time with our children. Sounds like a good shopping trip! Hi Ed and Irene. We visited our son and his family yesterday. So much fun. Maddie is starting to try more words. She managed to call me Ga, and Pete, Pa, sounded out car and stick (we were playing outside). I got the sandals I ordered on my retail therapy spree. I'm actually keeping 2 of the 4 pairs. A black pair of dressy ones and a white pair of casual ones. I'll return the other 2 today.

We had some windy rainstorms last night. It's currently 46F, 7C, windier than usual. A mix of clouds and sun. High 51F, 11C. Winds NW at 15 to 25 mph. Higher wind gusts possible. Wishing all a bright shiny new week. ☕⛅🌟🤞🏻🕊️

    SCAM OF THE WEEK

    Fake Form, Real Phish

In this week’s scam, cybercriminals are stealing students’ and teachers’ login information through phishing emails. You receive an email with an attachment containing a QR code. In the email, you are instructed to scan the code to update your contact information, check your benefits, or apply for opportunities at your university. Scanning this code with your mobile device leads you to a Google Form, which asks you to complete it by entering your email address, password, and other sensitive data.

The email seems convincing because Google Forms are often used in educational settings. However, this form is fake. If you enter any data in the form, cybercriminals steal it to access your online accounts. You won’t have updated your email address, applied for a job opportunity, or checked your benefits. Instead, the cybercriminals have stolen your personal information!

Follow these tips to avoid falling victim to a phishing scam:

Be suspicious of QR codes in attachments, as they may lead to malicious links that steal your information.

Never open attachments you aren’t expecting. Use your organization’s official web portal to check the status of your benefits, update information, or perform other tasks.

While this scam targets students and teachers, remember that cybercriminals can use similar tactics to target anyone. You should always be wary before entering your personal information or password online.

We have 3 (Celsius) sunny degrees with an expected sunny high of 24 and 1% chance of precipitation.

I was really tired last night and still feeling like I could go back to sleep.

For supper I just had some garlic cheese toast and a piece of chocolate cake. Jason finished off the cake after he ate the Waffle House breakfast for dinner that he picked up on the way back from his square-dancing class.

Breakfast was some grain free nut and seed granola, "everything" almond flour biscuits, and warmed up Spam. I did have some corned beef hash for lunch, and a bite of kimchi for my cabbage.

    Work beckons.

We have 7 (Celsius) sunny degrees with an expected mostly sunny high of 26 and 1% chance of precipitation.

Sounds like a lovely day, once it warms up from the overnight chill.

Supper last night was just some granola mixed with yogurt, and a couple of gluten free Oreo cookies. I was not feeling my best, again. Breakfast was some more of the granola and yogurt, with a sausage and cheese omelet and some orange juice.

I think my spring allergies are beginning to hit, though I am not sure what all is blooming right now.

good morning Happy Belated St. Patrick's Day. 🍀 I've been distracted lately!

Jo, hope your dentist appt went well. My GCs are all at different developmental stages, all just amazing to watch them grow and learn. So sweet. 💗 Ed, thanks for our continuing spam alerts. I guess you're getting into full swing with the gluten free diet.

I missed being here yesterday, I hadn't really slept the night before, maybe an hour or so from about 6 to 7ish got up and wanted to get to stained glass early. I finished the project I was working on. I was exhausted by the time I got home, after 5 p.m., so just kind of vegged out .

It's currently 43F,6C. Mainly sunny to start, then a few afternoon clouds. High 73F, 23C. Winds SSE at 10 to 15 mph. Flowers are blooming and sprouting, crocus, hyacinth, daffodils. Going to meet up with a friend this afternoon.

    Wishing all a happy 🐪 day. ☕🌞 💐🪻🤞🏻🕊️
