We made it back to Grand Junction where the temperature was 77F. As I get ready for bed, I am feeling a bit chilly. We will have a low of 37F tonight so the furnace will be working instead of the swamp cooler! As we were getting ready to go, I could not find my Fitbit that I had taken off when I took my shower. I searched everywhere I could think that I had been including taking the trash out of the wastebasket to see if I had thrown it away. I finally gave up and figured I would need to get another one but Praise God, when I unpacked my suitcase it was inside there. I don't know why it was in there but I must have gotten distracted as I was packing and laid it down and covered it up with more clothes. I was complaining about being forgetful and a friend suggested Lion's Mane mushroom supplement. She took it after she had COVID when she had memory problems. She gave me some so I will starting taking it although it can lower blood pressure so I need to pay attention to see if this happens. It will be interesting to see if it has an effect on my memory.

Susan - Thanks for the ideas of what you do when going out to eat. I will share the thoughts with my son. I know that when he comes to family dinners, he does bring his own food if we are eating what he can not. Your chorography sounds fun but I am sure that you will be careful not to hit your neighbor in the nose when you have your hand in front of their face. LOL

Barb - I have a cousin and uncle that were born at Christmas. They agree that having a birthday in December is not as exciting as having one on the other months. I heard of a person who had a December birthday but he celebrated his half birthday in June so he could have a birthday with no holiday. Our plumbing is working great! Yes it was a lot of money so I hope it works for a long time. You spoke of Golden Corral. I had a bad experience with them two times. One time I found a piece of wood in my coleslaw. I assume it was part of the cutting board and another time I had to return my glass and silverware because it was not clean. They did offer me a free meal the time I found the wood in my salad. Great picture of the homeschoolers as they got to sit in and learn about the fire trucks. Every August we have a gathering on our street where we all get together and talk about our summer activities and the police and firemen come and show the children all about what they do. The children love it and they find out that the policemen are very friendly and helpful. I grew up thinking the police were looking for things to arrest you for and to stay away from them.

Judith - I hope that you are doing well. Maybe you will be posting at the same time as I am. I hope you got rested up after all the celebrating you did for your birthday.

Marilyn - praying for your continued recovery and mobility.

    Hello Everyone,

I was on earlier but had to sign out as one of my friends sent me a text message, she had said earlier today she didn’t go to her Bible Study as she was coming down with a cold and had a sore scratchy throat. I had sent a text to my friend earlier asking how she was feeling, hadn’t heard back until I was on here about to post but saw you but had to sign out to reply to Wendy. She said her throat symptoms were a little better but her cold symptoms were about the same. Perhaps you all can keep Wendy in prayer. Thank you! She is back to work Friday thru to Monday shift. She works in Mental Health and works in a large group Home. She needs to be feeling stronger and have her wits about her, has meds and a lot of charting to do, it’s a large house and for those shifts she is only one who is in the house working with her.

Linda, you asked about my Birthday and wondered if we were posting at same time. I answered about us posting at same time so now yes my Birthday was so nice, I was blessed so much and spoiled by family and friends. Even with the mail strike I was richly blessed. Tomorrow I have a friend who is stopping by to visit and celebrate my birthday. Thursday I am back for my follow up to see my Surgeon and on Friday my friend who lives out of town is coming to town for a Birthday celebration visit with me. She was hoping to see me earlier but couldn’t get away. We always have a nice visit when she comes. So glad you found your Fitbit. You will notice the temperature changes, having temps in the 70’s and coming home with temps tonight in the 40’s, brrr. 🥶 that’s cold! Our temps have gone down to 47 degrees tonight with wind gusts 💨 of 13km/hr.

Barb, my Granddaughter, my son’s youngest daughter was born Christmas Day… They chose a day the end of November to have her birthday party with friends and it worked out great. Then Christmas Day she got a Birthday cake with us singing Happy Birthday to her and had her Birthday presents all wrapped in birthday wrap from all the family in the afternoon and later in the day Emelia had her Christmas Gifts from the family just like we all did from each other. So lunch time we had a Birthday lunch complete with a Birthday cake and at night we had a Christmas dinner. We did that for years. Takes some effort and organization but that’s what we wanted to do. My prayers continue for Harry3 and for your results from the MRI trusting all is well. Barb, I came back as I posted about the Birthday’s 🎂 but forgot to say I loved the pictures of Blake and Evan in their Firemen jackets sitting in the Fire Truck. Evan’s smile is precious!

Susan, thank you for sharing about all your choreography, the moves, being careful you didn’t anyone with your arms swinging back and forth and keeping them in front of you. The play sounds like it will be a lot of fun. Prayers for Colin and you and praying for Pastor Jo and his wife, any changes? Any specific prayers I should be lifting up to the Lord on Pastor Jo’s behalf? I love your Christmas Cards you and the ladies made. I love Shaker Cards, I have the Christmas Trees from StampInUp using the Punch that cuts out the Tree Shapes. Did you make your Christmas Trees with Dies or from the Punch? I heard from my StampInUp Demonstrator due to the Mail strike the 3D Sunflower embossing folders were not able to be shipped. Issues with other companies. Hopefully I can get it later. I was so looking forward to having it. Will keep you posted. Thanks for letting me know your Birthday 🎂 is June 21st.

Marilyn, my prayers continue for you my friend. Trusting your standing, strength and mobility continues to improve.

It’s late now and this gal is heading off to bed… Take care and God Bless…. Good Night 😴

Judith, that is sad about the mail strike continuing so long! It's sad your sunflowers haven't been able to get to you and some birthday cheer too. I hope they resolve the issues soon. What a back log there will be. About the shaker card, I have the dies and stamps to go with the domes. I do have a punch from a few years ago but it doesn't fit the domes. About Joe, he is less talkative and restless due to the meds they ate giving him. They catheterised him to stop him getting up at night and falling but now he has an infection in the bladder. Today Colin is sitting with him most of the day as Eileen has to go have a cancer treatment on her bladder in a hospital far from Joe. So please pray her treatment is routine and not painful, that they find a way for Joe to manage daily life without falling (he cut and bruised his arm last time he fell and he often hits his poor head when he falls) and that both feel comforted by their faith in the Lord. May the Lord's will be done in their lives. I suspect we won't have Joe with us much longer...I'll pray for Wendy, too.

Linda, glad you found your Fitbit and that the Lions Mane helps you. You have such a busy life and have to remember so much. It's not surprising that some small details escape you at times. You are welcome for the food ideas. I hope it helps somehow. Yes, the play practice is fun and so far, so goid. None of the 25 if us have hit anyone! The Uke group also has to learn some simple steps while we play one of our songs. I think We'll have to.learn more steps for another one we are doing. I am not so coordinated any more so h as ve been practising at home, too! Lol!

Barb, the pictures of your grandsons are so very cute. What a great day out for them. No, we don't have that restaurant chain here. I had never heard of it before you mentioned it. Only a couple of independent restaurants here have buffets, and we have one restaurant which allows you to order individual things from the menu for your plate. It is called Cafe 63 and I like to go there. One of the things I order there is breakfast or lunch - two fried eggs, two rashers of bacon and a slice of fried tomato. No sauces. No bread. I rarely have fried food so that is a treat for me and I don't get sick from it. They also have a grilled chicken caesar salad that I sometimes have for a dinner as the dressing seems to agree with me. There's no onion or garlic in it. I ask for the salad without croutons and they are happy to leave them off. It seems to work! Otherwise a grilled steak and roast vegetables or plain salad works. No sauces, no bread.

I trimmed Jasper's face yesterday. He looks so cute. I took a blurry picture of him on my lap after the grooming session. He was even smiling a little. Archie is the best smiler but Jasper is learning to.

2 nd time and I was almost done.
Linda, So glad that you made it to Grand junction. It’s also good that you found your Fitbit. Let us know if Lion’s-Mane works on your memory. Prayers.
imalso know of so,some whole body is o. Christmas Day. She’s a widow. She only got one gift when she was a child. I was so sad to hear that

Susan, I wonder if it’s lighter for you inthe month of December for you it’s so dark for us #0& so any bday in the 20’s it’s dark, then it’s the shortest day for us is 12/21. is that the longest day for you? Does Australia have snow men Christmas trees too, like us. I know in Florida in December, they put lights on their pals trees and have snowmen & globes outside it’s kind of funny as it’s not old in Florida there in for me, but maybe for them. Love Jasper’s picture looks like he got a good haircut.

Prayers for Joe’s d his wife and family so nice of Colin to be with him while his wife had her cancer treatment. I imagine that infection of his bladder must be so painful. Praying.

Judith, prayers for you and the surgeon tomorrow and enjoy your bday celebration on Friday so nice for you. I hope you have no pain on Thursday too.

We watched Blake’s d Evan, we picked some cherry tomatoes nd cut some leery. They also had a mum plant big tooth at the boys helped me plant the boys love digging. D seeing ll my worms I have in my soil. I put it in the backyard as I have lots of mums out front, so the plant is in the back, where I had a rhododendron plant that I bought in the spring & it didn’t make it. I moved it a couple of times, & the dry summer didn’t help. So the rhododendron was easy to dig up. I have a neighbor who would like some sedum, and the ground is rock hard & trying to separate them hasn’t happened. Thats with watering every day, 2 times a day too . The ground needs rain the other days rain was not measurable, every time we get rain it’s not much for us or nothing. Oh well

Joy group tomorrow, so, fall decorations. We will be going to see leaves and be gone one week, so, packing I will need to do.

Susan, Jasper looks so cute with his sweetest face and cute little smile! Thank you for sharing the picture. So sad Joe has a bladder infection, I understand about staff having Joe catheterized and not wanting him up and risking falls going to the bathroom. Bladder infections are so painful, I hope they are managing his pain. So kind Colin is sitting with Joe while Eileen goes for her cancer treatment. My prayers are with both of them. Besides the Shaker Cards I also use Photo Frame Cards, you can insert your card stock in the opening that has an embossed design or added designs on it or anything that makes your card. I usually decorate the border of the frame. Then inside the card I write or Stamp a nice sentiment to the person I’m giving it to. My friend Wendy gave me a card last year using the Frame. Thank you for your prayers for tomorrow’s appointment.

Barb, Hope you enjoy Joy group tomorrow, are you decorating the tables and room like you have in past years? I love Autumn and here in Canada 🇨🇦 it’s also Thanksgiving weekend coming up. I have my home decorated for Autumn and Thanksgiving with all the colors with tablecloth napkins with flowers, salt and pepper shakers in Autumn colors & designs. I love seeing all the bright colors of the Autumn leaves. We have several red leaves on the ground here. I was watching our gardeners cleaning up the condo grounds and sweeping the leaves off the circular driveway. They have their work cut out for them. They come every Wednesday to clean and cut lawns. It was nice you got some planting done. Yes kids love digging in the ground. Nice you watched Blake and Evan and they could be with you as you worked in the garden. Yes, I am looking forward to celebrating my birthday again on Friday with my friend who is coming in from out of town. Thank you for your prayers For tomorrow’s appointment.

I am here early and posted in all the Threads and will try and come back again later tonight. With early morning appointment I will be in bed early tonight. God Bless you all! 🙏😇

Today was a quiet day. Glenn was busy with lots of appointments but I got to sleep in and do a lot of office work. I tried to take my Lion's Mane capsules but I am not sure I will continue them. I googled the side effects and it said not to take them if you are on blood pressure pills because it causes low blood pressure. I am on a very tiny dose of blood pressure pills to keep my heart rate down. Since I do not have high blood pressure, I thought that it would not bother me but this afternoon I had a really bad headache and felt weak as I was exercising. This evening I have a lesser headache and feel like there is a tight band around my head. I will not take them tomorrow and may try one more time later in case what I felt today was from some other source.

Judith - I am praying for your friend, Wendy, that she will be feeling better when she has to go to work on Friday. It sounds like she has a huge responsibility in her job especially since she is by herself. Does she stay overnight also? I am also praying for your appointment with the surgeon. It has been quite a while since you saw him so maybe it has healed better and he will be able to treat it this time. Your Autumn decorations sound so pretty. I was in hopes that while I was further East these last two weeks, that their trees would be showing colors but they were barely starting to show. If we had gone a few weeks later there would have been the reds and oranges that I love. The yellow aspen are really showing up in our mountains. In fact a lot of the trees have lost their leaves already. I heard on the weather that some of the ski mountains have already had up to 6 inches of snow. They will need a lot more before they can open up the ski runs. When it gets colder they will have their snow making machines working overtime to get more snow on the ground.

Susan - Jasper is very handsome and looks very happy in your lap. I continue to pray for Joe and his decline. I am so sorry that he has a urinary tract infection which is very uncomfortable. I have seen just having a catheter in older people can cause restlessness but to have an infection on top of it is much worse. I am so glad that Colin is able to sit with him while Eileen was gone for her treatment of her bladder cancer. It is good that she can get away for a little while to care for her own health. You mentioned a restaurant that had fried tomatoes that you liked. Are they green or red tomatoes? I have eaten a lot of fried green tomatoes in my day. My grandma lived with us for a while and she loved them so we had them often.

Barb - I am glad the Blake and Evan were able to "help" you plant the mum. I have two plants and one has started blooming a mauve color. The other plant has lots of buds but is not blooming yet. I believe that the blooms with be burgundy and yellow. A friend gave me some purple hyacinth for my birthday this Spring and when they died down in the pot I put them in the garage until I had time to plant them. Unfortunately I forgot to plant them so I am not sure if they are still alive for me to plant this fall. I feel really badly because my friend told me when she gave them to be sure and plant them as soon as I could. Maybe I will get some bulbs from the store and plant them for next Spring if these are not alive any more.

    Good night all!

    I just lost a big post…

    Just to summarise:

Linda, the restaurant serves fried red tomatoes only. Fried green tomatoes are not really a thing in Australia. My Mom knew of them being from Arkansas so told me about them but never cooked them.

Judith, photo frame cards are lovely. I sometimes add a window sheet behind the frame to make them into shaker cards too. I hope and pray your appointment goes well.

Barb, yes, we are in opposite seasons so Dec 21st is our longest day. Christmas is in the heat of summer. People like snowmen but lately I have seen them made/drawn on cards from sand! Santa wears board shorts, sunglasses and is often found surging atnthd beach. People still string lights up everywhere so imagine that happening in summer and you'll have an idea of what it is like here. Crazily, icicle shaped lights are popular.

Glad you all liked Jasper's face 🙂

Joe is very restless and unfortunately his mind is not what it was so he does not understand why he needs to use walkers and have help when he gets up. The staff have many like him to care for so cannot always be with him. He doesn't understand that, either. It's very sad and hard. Eileen's treatments and travel took all day yesterday which exhausted her so she went straight to bed when she got home. I hope she had a good rest. She needs it.

Linda So glad you got some extra sleep you must have needed it. Hyacinths are bulbs so, they are ok plant them asap walmart here is Ellen spring bulbs now to plant though our ground is rock hard due to, not much rain for 3 months plus.

Barb and Susan I am sorry that MFP lost your posts. That is so frustrating. I do a lot of "save draft" to keep at least some of what I write. My headache is gone today after taking the Lion's Mane supplement yesterday so I think I will try it again tomorrow to see if the headache was related to the medication or other conditions.

Susan - you and Judith have mentioned "shaker cards" several times. Can you explain what they are? It sounds like you put something inside of the card that moves when shaken. Eileen must have been exhausted from her treatment that too so long. I am glad that she did not feel she had to come to the place where Joe is staying. She needs to conserve her energy as much as she can and still be with Joe. It is so hard when working with someone who is confused and does not understand what is happening. After my Dad was taken to the hospital for a temporary pacemaker placement, I went home to sleep. My Dad became confused and pulled his temporary pacemaker out of his chest. The doctor was extremely upset so they put it back in and called me to come sit with him until they could get the permanent pacemaker in. My Dad did not realize what he was doing but it still could have caused a lot more problems than it did.

Barb - Your decorations for the Joy group look very Fall like. Are these decorations yours or do they belong to the church? It sounds like your group is growing if you need to add another table for next month. Have you heard anything more about 3 having his therapy reduced? How does 3, the girls and you feel with your colds? So far I just have had a few sneezes and runny nose then it went away. It may have been an allergy since it was so short.

Judith - how was your appointment today. I assume that you are resting now as you usually do after a long hard day with the surgeon. Let us know how it went when you feel like it. We pray that God is comforting you as you sleep tonight.

    Evening Hello Everyone,

I am here, rested much when home, but signed in and worked on all the threads! Read your posts, my reply to each of you is very shortened and condensed! Tired now again so will be back to bed after this post.

Susan, glad you enjoy using the Photo Frame cards. I like the idea of putting a window frame in behind turning them into a shaker card. Much try that sometime. I love fried green tomatoes and at one time made them often. My prayers continue for Joe and his wife.

Linda, so sorry about the weakness and headache after taking the Lions Mane, glad it was better today. As I said to Susan, when you spoke of eating and enjoying fried green tomatoes it brought back fond memories of these scrumptious tomatoes. So tasty.

Barb, my appointment was intense and I was really tired and sore when back home so rested most of evening. I love your tables you decorated for your Joy group. I have a glass candle holder with Blessed written on it and my decorations are in Reds and Oranges including my candles. I included Indian Corn as I couldn’t get mini pumpkins this year. We’re out of them where I do online shopping. Sorry Harry3 was picked up do late today. Any word on when Harry3’s last day is for his physio?

Well my friend’s, sorry about the condensed version of what I normally post but so tired I’m heading to bed. 🛏️ Good Night 😴

Judith, it's good to see you had energy to post at all after a long day with Drs. No need to apologise! I hope you were OK with the appointments yesterday. Thank you for continuing to pray for our friends. Yes, shaker cards are fun to make. You can also use a clear cellophane bag to put a shaker element behind some kind of cardstock window.

Linda, you guessed right about shaker cards. Adding a clear pocket or some to hold sequins, tiny beads or something shiny like glitter is what a shaker card is. The glittery stuff is supposed to move and make a sound when the card is shaken. Glad the Lion's Mane isn't continuing to cause you problems. Yes, Joe is confused more often than not now. It must have been hard watching your Dad go through that but you could help him by sitting with him, which was good. I had to do the same for my Dad when he had quadruple bypass surgery and was confused for weeks by the drugs they used and his own heart condition. That's why Colin is spending so much time with Joe. He's a calming and reasonable voice when Joe tries to do something not in his best interest.

Barb, I hope your day with 3 is not too hard and you can get help with the wheelchair at the Rehab centre. Your fall table decor is nice. I especially liked the colour of the table cloths! Candles are always a lovely touch. Glad your Joy group seems yo be growing. Yes, Christmas here is very different than it is there. We usually cook the day before so we can have cold meats and salads on Christmas day. I found you something that might make you smile 😃

Susan I laughed at Santa it’s so cool. Thank you for sharing it with us.
Continue prayers for Joe plus his wife. It’s got to be so hard. So glad they have support from you plus prayers of all. Is your church helping with meals at all? Praying.
the shaker cards with the cellophane are neat.

Judith praying for you and I hope you could enjoy yiur bday celebration with an old friend.
praying for healing too. I hooe you got the sleep you needed Judith to enjoy your day.

Linda imhoe yiu had better day without Lions mane pills so sad that yiu had reaction to it. Headaches are no fun.

Sorry bout ll your dads my dad died the covid year of Covid and my mom could not see him they could talk on a phone & one time could see each other with table between them and I believe not by themselves, Covid was rough. I’m Somglad God took him talking to my mom on the phone.
Today went well and I took 3 with Harry with ompirblem like usulnd bc no problem picking him up Louise was good help. We plan on going to go, over there, to 3 house in the afternoon and hioe to, get him to, walk with a walker on his driveway. So the walker they like us 4 wheels in the front and none inthe back, which is very good for balance. Today he walked with his walker in PT and 21’ so that’s good.
Glad all of you liked fall decorations, our church sure has the decorations. tomorrow is recycle electronics & shredding, then get a free Lowe’s gift, pick up rental car then walk down the street for Shawnee Mission, fall fest. ( I live in Shawnee Mission, Kansas.) They will have apple cider from apples that they crush there Plus Indian fried bread, having worked with the Navajos one summer I lways enjoy it, so I’ll have a taco fry bread! 😋
We got a bit not measurable rain it’s getting warm again and to be 86* on unday crazy. My thanksgiving cactus plant, has a bud on it and more coming I hope. Enjoy the weekend.

It has been raining all day long. There was water running down the parking lot when we went to exercise. Our ground is very dry so there is no water running on the ground. It is soaking it all up. I have been washing my inside windows but with weather like it is today, the outside windows will have to wait for a good sunny day. I took my Lion's Mane capsule this morning and I did not have any headache so maybe my body is getting used to it or it might have been dehydration. It is supposed to be taken twice a day but I just did it once today and will try two times tomorrow. My rose outside my office window are starting to bud again. Maybe it is the last of the season but I look forward to seeing them one last time. I am trying a new recipe tonight. It is Quinoa stuffed peppers and I will include the recipe if it is any good. It is vegetarian which we try to do once in a while. I did add black beans also to give it a little more protein. I went out to lunch with a friend today and I was careful to not pick things that had a lot of calories. I had the soup and salad and felt good about my choices. I did gain weight at the TOPS meeting so I am trying to be more careful this week.

Susan - Thanks for explaining shaker cards. I will need to go back and look at your cards again to really appreciate them. How do people who celebrate Christmas in the Summer have Santa bring the presents? Does he drop them in your chimneys also? Are your songs different also? We sing of Frosty the Snowman and Sleigh bells ring as we walk through a winter wonderland.

Barb - I chuckled at the picture that Susan gave to you about Christmas in the summer. That is so different from us that have snow during the season.

Judith - I am so glad that you are taking care of yourself and getting the rest you need. Was the surgeon able to remove some skin growth this time?

    Good Morning all

Started late Friday night and then I found myself finished the last game thread on Saturday, few minutes after Midnight…

My appointment was intense, he removed some but couldn’t continue in an area due to the growth too deep and if he proceeded it would have caused trauma and a bleed out. I am back in 2 weeks. Thanks everyone for asking after me and for your prayers!

Susan, your post of Santa in shorts riding on a surf board made me Lol 😂 Too funny, you are Brilliant in finding ways to describe something. Loved it! Thanks for telling me about using a cellophane bag to make a Shaker element in behind a card stock window.
I continue to keep Joe in prayer and his dear wife Eileen.

Linda, thank you for your kindness, yes I took time for rest as I was extremely sore (read opening statement where I explained Thursday’s procedures the Surgeon did) when getting home, I also knew my friend was coming to visit to celebrate my Birthday, she couldn’t come my actual birthday so Friday was only day to catch up. I was spoiled with gifts, and a bouquet of flowers. The last of her garden flowers I love, Dahlias, so pretty! Picture is below! I had to Lol 😂 as I looked down on the floor & see that Miss Sunshine had almost all her toys spread all over the floor. She is a rascal at times. I have had Quinoa Stuffed Peppers and they are delicious, you made great choices in your lunch choices of salad and soup.

    IMG_0245.jpeg

Barb, I am so happy that Harry3’s is doing so well using his walker. I am sure HH is so happy you are going to their place in the morning to help with Harry3’s. Not sure if I missed one of your posts but has a decision been made when Harry3’s last day will be for Physio? Hope his Insurance extended the time. But I like the idea of Harry3’s going out on driveway with his walker and spending time walking there. I am trusting this will help his legs strengthen and help more with his balance. Thanks for your prayers and for asking after my Birthday celebration with my friend on Friday. We had a lovely day. I was spoiled with Softsoap Body Wash, Body Lotion, Gift Card, Case of Boost Supplement and a Lovely Birthday card. She also gave me a lovely Bouquet of Flowers, last from her garden, Dahlias, I love them so much. I posted the picture above! It is under the reply I posted to Linda.

God Bless you all. Blessings on your day. Will be back tonight! Heading to bed, it’s late, 1:00am yes being a night owl!

Judith, thank you for your health update. I am so sorry it was so intense and the surgeon couldn't do everything he wanted to do. Praying. I was glad your friend could come over and make your day so special though. The flowers are gorgeous and hopefully will last awhile. You are welcome for the shaker card idea. I just seal up ordinary protective card bags when I want to make a card like that. That way the bag can be cut down if needed to fit.

Linda, you're welcome for the shaker card explanation. In our part of Australia chimneys are rare so Santa comes through a window or just magics himself inside. Song words are often modified but we use the same tunes. Jingle Bells is changed into riding through the bush in a rusty Holden Ute, for example. We do sing the traditional words as well. When we have Santa come to a community or attending a parade before Christmas, he could arrive by helicopter or on the back of a fire truck or on the back of a motorbike or in a speedboat or something else. He never arrives by sleigh unless someone has created a sleigh float for him. There are no reindeer hence the song 'Six White Boomers' (Boomers are large albino kangaroos in this case!)

Barb, you are welcome for the surfin' Santa picture. When he delivers gifts in his boomer pulled sleigh, he always wears his warm clothes..

I know. It doesn't make sense, but there you have it! Lol! Glad to hear you have some blooms coming in the garden. I noticed my yellow orchid is blooming and my tiny lemons are growing. I will try to get pictures in coming days.

    Church today!

Linda I’m can’t imagine what a day of rain be like. All we get is scattered or rain skip, us north wet, east etc, if we get any it’s a few drops not measurable. This has been going on for 3 months. We may get some on Monday it’s in the forecast. I will say with the rain by time here it’s scattered or misses us.
I trust the Lions mane works for you. Praying so and no headaches.

It continued to rain all day today up until 4pm when it stopped just in time for us to have our BBQ and prayer time for our adult children. A lot of people were out of town so we only had 6 attend the prayer time but we did get some prayer requests for some who were not there so we were able to pray for them also.

After the rain stopped, the sun would shine then it would get dark then light again but I think the rain is over now. It has been wonderful for the moisture. My tomatoes are cracking though with the extra water the plants have gotten. This morning with the high humidity and rain we had our gas insert lit to warm up the house. I have a space heater in my office that takes the cold off too. Last year I had to have a lap blanket on my legs to keep warm but now with my space heater I am much more comfortable.

Susan - it is so interesting with what your do for Christmas in the Summer time. I had to look up what a Holden Ute was. I had not heard of this. I am glad that you have people who have imaginations and can rewrite/modify songs that make more sense to your environment. How is Colin feeling? Does sitting with Joe tire him out or does he enjoy the time together even if Joe is confused?

Barb - You said that 3 was going to graduate from speech therapy. I had thought that they might stay in for a while to work on his paralyzed vocal cord but that might be a long term healing situation. I am glad that you were able to get a new walker for him and that you were able to walk with him in the driveway and road. It is so true that when working with therapies, it is not like the real area in a home with chairs, rugs and other things to walk around. I hope you see some wonderful colors as you go through Iowa, Minnesota and Wisconsin. I would love to see some pictures since I missed my chance to see the colors last week.

Judith - You really stayed up late yesterday to be posting after midnight and then came back later today to post again. The flowers your friend brought you are so pretty. I was looking at your couch and thinking that the pattern looked familiar. I finally figured out that I have a set of sheets with the same pattern. Most of my sheets are plain colors or dark but when I the sheets like your couch on my bed, it really brightens my bedroom. One more thing we have in common. 😁

Thank you Susan for your kindness and prayers. And as I said in my previous post you made me Lol with the Santa picture in Sunglasses & Shorts riding on a Surfboard! Too funny! 😂 I got another chuckle tonight with Santa riding a sleigh pulled by Kangaroos… 🦘 Lol 😂 Love your sense of humour. Yes I was happy to meet my friend who came yesterday and showered me with more gifts. I was given so many nice things from all my friends. The Birthday cards were all so lovely too. I have been spoiled. Yes Susan my Surgeon tries his best to remove all the diseased tissues. what is frustrating is he said the meds you are on are supposed to kill the diseased (cancer cells) and they keep developing on the face and lips which has affected my mouth, as fast as he removes the disease it reappears. One thing I thank God for is in spite of all the cancer complications I am here, still living, a living proof that God is Mighty, there is a reason and a purpose for me to be here, and I believe it’s to be a witness, my desire is to glorify God in all things. I know He will heal me in His Time! I remind myself that everyday. And no matter how difficult it gets I will continue to Praise God and be a witness to whoever God brings along my path. I continue to keep Joe in prayer and his wife Eileen. Hope you enjoy your Sunday services.

Barb, thank you for your kindness and prayers. Yes my surgeon said if he has proceeded with removing the diseased tissue he would have caused trauma and a major bleed out. So he stopped and said for me to come back in 2 weeks. He said it would be a good idea to call the cancer clinic and get in soon so my oncologist could examine my face and review the meds and maybe change treatment plan. I will call them on Tuesday after our Thanksgiving weekend. Thank you for your kind comments on my home. I have doilies on the end tables, I have Christmas cloths my Mom made that goes under Christmas decorations, and a tree skirt Mom made, my family made all the doilies. Thanksgiving and Christmas I put table runners on my coffee table and on my dining room table I have the seasonal table cloths. I love decorating my place for all the holidays. I continue to keep Harry3 in prayer. I am encouraged with all the progress he has made. You mentioned he is celebrating 6 months since his surgery. Praise God! I rejoice with you all. Thank you for letting us know about his new walker that’s on order. I hope this will help Harry3 with his walking and better balance.

Linda, I have missed you on here tonight, Wonder if MFP is hiding your posts, Insaw your posts on the threads but wonder why not here? So sorry. Hope to catch up with you tomorrow.

Ok all it’s bedtime for me. Good Night 😴 God Bless! 🙏😇🤗

Linda posted just before you, Judith. You probably were posting at the same time! Happy Thanksgiving weekend. Glad you enjoyed seeing Santa in a new light. Lol! Happy to share the differences with you all. It must be so difficult with the way things are going with your treatment 😕. I am extra glad that you trust in the Lord and continue to see His purpose in all of this. You are an inspiration.

Linda, yes, the slang here is different as well as the vehicles, the food, etc. There are a lot of things we have in common, but there are lots of little surprises. The first time I saw Santa dressed in summer clothes it just seemed so wrong, but then it made perfect sense! Our summers are so hot, we only put on Santa hats for taking family pictures then remove them immediately. Some families buy summer pjs to take family pictures too. They are more likely to feature summer graphics instead of snowy ones.

Barb, glad you enjoyed the Santa pictures too. Oh, the Bush is what we call the Outback. It's all the deserted, dessert land out west that has little vegetation or roads. Bush bashing means taking your Ute through areas with no roads, just for fun. It's frowned on by environmentalists now but people who live on the land farming beef cattle or sheep still do it with glee. It their land after all! But I digress. The lemon tree has some cute little fruits on it:

    1000060881.jpg

And I got a picture of the yellow orchid for you all.

    1000060879.jpg

Colin is mourning already and his attention has shifted to supporting Eileen more. Joe rarely wakes now and is breathing more slowly. The staff are keeping him sedated as he is in too much pain. Colin does seem exhausted when he comes home and debriefs. He takes a nap right after he talks about what id happening. The Drs think Joe will pass in the next few days...heaven will regain another beloved son.

Susan. I love your pics yiur orchid has some pretty colors on it. The lemons are so small one looks green so,is it a lime instead of a lemon? We will keep praying for,Joe. You guys have a hospice like out there? Or palliative care? Many prayers. My mom use to be a hospice nurse and hearing is the last to go so read the Bible or sing and talk he can hear them. I’m sure it is a drain to, see Joe like that so prayers for you all to be supportive I’m the hard situation. Yes, and lrayers for you and Colin in the situation. Yea heaven will be rejoicing to see hima d spew will see him too some time each day gets us closer.
We have an Outback restaurant that sells steaks &:decorates like it was from Australia. I guess that’s why the name. Thank you.

Judith. So 3 walker should come in on Wednesday. 10/16 so he can have his PT help, with putting it together & if it’s ok. I just hope his balance gets better and he gets better with the walker I’m sure he does better with it at his therapy, there is no little, kids there too. All in Gods time 3 voice sounds better, the paralyzed vocal cord he still takes a long time to eat and coughs some but has no cold.
I wonder if 3 will go to 3 days a week with no speech . Time will tell.
I hope you can get an appointment with yiur cancer dr this week

Happy Thanksgiving for you tomorrow will you have turkeys any special plans enjoy. Any family coming or you going any place?

Linda so lots of rain wish you could share it with us. We got scattered showers, so nothing for USA d the rain we were to get Monday have disappeared. Oh well. It was a warm day so reading about you using an electric heater made me laugh as we still are using a/c. I know in time the heat will be on. I still have one window and some curtains to wash when we get home, it’s the dinning room and it’s a double window.
I will try to send some pics not sure how much posting I’ll do but I will try. Tomorrow night we will be in Amos Iowa and see the Iowa state gardens. The Tuesday we will see Des Moines gardens we enjoy the gardens in the fall there can be some neat fall displays and mums are always pretty too. I heard the Colorado river is flooding in SW Colorado , is that any where near you? Prayers.
    Prayers for all

Judith - I am sorry that the medication is not killing the cells like it should. Would the medication that they refused to OK work better? I wish that they would change their minds. Maybe the Cancer clinic will have some answers for you. I will be praying. I do love the doilies and family hand made decorations. I hope that you did see my posting from yesterday. Maybe we need to schedule when we post so we do not miss each other. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your Canadian friends. Do you have the same foods we have for our Thanksgiving - Turkey, pumpkin pie, stuffing, etc?

Susan - Does Australia have a day like our Thanksgiving? The little lemon is very cute. I did not realize that they started out as green. It almost looks like a lime. Your orchid has such pretty colors. Mine has not bloomed for a while and looks wilted. I have watered it but do not want to give it too much water. I know it grows in humid climates which is not what we have here. I understand that Colin would be grieving already. I am glad that you can be his listening ear to process his feelings then he can take a nap to rest. You two and Eileen are in my prayers as is Joe also.

Barb - so far we have had 2 inches of rain over the past three days. We have not had it during the Summer but now that there is a hurricane in the Pacific Ocean, we are getting the moisture. We are not getting any flooding right now. We live in the Central Western part of the state. The irrigation ditches are full of very muddy water. We will need to clean out our filters on the pump system so the irrigation pipes do not get clogged.

Happy Thanksgiving Sunday to you all my dear friends.

I was at my daughters today. Turkey dinner and all the trimmings. I can’t eat that but had some Autumn soup and Chai Spiced Latte, my Granddaughter got me a Mango-pineapple Smoothie. So I had plenty of the foods I can eat and it was good. I also had Hot chocolate with cream and whipped Cream on top for desert. The kids had pumpkin pie and ice cream.

I am just wiped so will be back tomorrow and catch up with you. Tomorrow is officially Thanksgiving day here in Canada. My son and his wife have been working out of town and were able to get today off so came in to town for our Thanksgiving- Birthday celebration and dinner. I got the rest of my Birthday gifts from my family. 2 Sweaters & Dress Pants. I am good for Good clothes to wear out and my gift cards will buy me clothes to wear around the house.

I will be back in the afternoon to catch up with you all! Good Night 😴 God Bless 🙏

    Just lost my post.

Happy Thanksgiving, Judith. Glad you could celebrate with family. It's lovely that you could extend your birthday celebrations too.

Linda, no, we don't have Thanksgiving here. I know the US celebrates the last Thursday in November as we used to celebrate 55+ years ago. The family scattered as we all grew up so we can't get together for it anymore.

Barb, lemons are little, hard and green when they start out. This tree has produced before so I know it is a lemon tree. They get yellow as they grow and ripen.

Thank you all for praying for Joe and Eileen and for us. Joe was a tiny bit more alert yesterday but he isn't going to get better this time...

We had thieves break in and steal two cars from a friend's locked down garage during the lightning storm this week. The thieves boldly went into the house and stole the couple's keys while they were sleeping. Thankfully they did not hurt them. It feels like we could all have the same happen. We're trying to improve our security now. Our dogs are actually good defences due to their willingness to bark.

Judith. Happy Thanksgiving. I’m glad you can have some foods I just had Panera’s Autumn squash soup. The mango pineapple smoothie sounds good. So glad you were with family.
I also wonder if that cream that you can’t get would help you. Praying

I loved your Thanksgiving Blessings. Hooe you can rest too after today’s activities and bday celebrations plus drs Thursday.

Susan prayers for you all especially Joe & Eileen. So glad you can help them too. Prayers. Sorry about the thieves. People just don’t care any more so sad.
That’s neat about lemons being green first, who would know.

Linda. It’s nice you had 2” of rain. We had a bit this morning before we left home. Under trees there was nothing so not measurable again.
we are in Ames, Iowa where iowa state is we went to their garden Reiman garden. The butterfly garden was cool. I’ll send pics not seeing much color but I’m sure we will.
    prayers for all.

Linda, I found your post, it was just above my post. I think we posted at same time that’s why I missed you. I had to smile when you said you had bed sheets in same pattern as my Chesterfield set, it was a popular Furniture made by Sklar- Peppler very expensive furniture. The company is 80 years old and is still in operational. It lasts for years and the manufacture is correct as I bought this set back in 1997. No breaks in material and no fading. God opened the door the day I saw the set, the Salesman that sold me the set gave me so many discounts it was unbelievable! So yes we have another thing in common! ☺️ Thank you for your kindness about my situation and the meds not killing the cancer cells. I am hoping to get in to see my Oncologist at Cancer Clinic soon and let him see what my lips and face appear so hopefully he will have a better solution. I am calling the Cancer Clinic tomorrow and see if they can schedule me in. I see my Surgeon again next Thursday as we are back to the 2 week schedule. He is hoping in time he can get me to the place where with his procedures and my meds that it will hold me to 3 weeks allowing for better healing and recovery! Here’s hoping we can get to that point!

Susan, your Yellow Orchid is gorgeous! And your Lemon tree is really nice for you to have. When I saw the green fruit I thought it was a Lime Tree but saw you explaining how the fruit changes from green to yellow. It would be so interesting to have a Lemon tree and watch it go through the stages of ripening. I am so sorry to hear of a neighbour in your community have their cars stolen from their locked garage. Talk about being so bold that they went into the house while the people slept, so glad they didn’t wake up and confront the robbers, wow, God sure kept them safe. I can understand that you would be wanting to look into better security. Very scary and unnerving. Yes, it’s a good deterrent with you having Archie and Jasper who like to bark when they hear something not the usual. I am so sorry to hear about Joe, it does sound like it’s nearing the time Joe will be going home to his Heavenly Home. It must be so hard for Colin sitting by Joe’s bedside seeing all this. My prayers are with Joe, Eileen, Colin and you Susan…

Barb, thank you for your Thanksgiving Greetings! Glad you liked my Thanksgiving Card Message and image. You said you were in Ames, Iowa. Ames is a new city in Iowa for me. Never heard of it before. Where is Ames near? You said you went through the Butterfly Garden while in Ames. Thank you for sharing the pictures, so beautiful. I loved the Orange and Black butterfly’s so striking and pretty the color combinations! You said there were 41 different species and over 100 butterfly’s. I am sure you enjoyed your tour seeing so many different butterfly’s. While you are away I think I read in one of your posts Harry3 will have his new Walker delivered. Hopefully the physiotherapist can help put it together. Hope this will help Harry3 gain better balance and get stronger in his walking. It would be nice for you to come home with more improvements in Harry3. Here’s Hoping!

Take care all! God Bless your evening. 🙏🤗

I did a very silly thing today. My virus scan said I had apps that were not used for a while and wanted to know if I wanted to I uninstall them. I was uninstalling a program that we no longer use for the school. I misread which one and agreed to uninstall a vital program so now my laptop is totally blank. We will take it to the computer repair shop. I hope my error is not too expensive.

I will get back to posting when it works. Using my tablet today has not been working well. I have had to restart 3 times so far.

OOh Linda, how frustrating! I hope it isn't expensive to fix your computer too. My tablet is much slower than my laptop or phone so I hear you. 😐

Judith, glad to hear there is a plan to get you back to the Oncologist less often. Praying it happens! Yes, the orchid is such a favourite of mine. Glad to share it. I guess growing lemon trees is hard when you all have such cold winters. You would have to bring the tree inside the house for it to survive the cold. No wonder you had never seen a baby lemon before! Loads of people grow lemon trees here due to us having such mild winters. I am finally thankful for Archie and Jasper's tendency to bark at new noises and to loudly announce when anyone is near our front door. Yesterday we got the lock on the screen door to the garage working (there is a wooden door with no lock too) so now thieves would have to make a racket to get into the house. Colin also drilled a hole in the garage frame so we can put a big metal tent peg through it to lock it shut during the night. I feel better. Yes, Joe isn't expected to be with us much longer but he is mentally strong and might battle on for awhile longer. Colin is sticking by him no matter what.

Barb, when I zoomed in I saw all the lovely butterflies. What a nice place to visit! I hope all your travels go well and you come back home refreshed. Glad to hear Harry3's new wheelchair has arrived and hope it makes a good difference for him. Thank you also for your prayers. I pray for all of you, too.

Linda, I am so sorry to hear this, that’s so frustrating for you. I can identify about your tablet, before I replaced my old iPhone and iPad it took forever to post anything so I mostly used my laptop. At one point I wondered what happened as I saw you on here then you disappeared. I now understand what happened. 😟 I will pray for you that everything on your laptop can be recovered and the expenses can be kept down for you. We Love you Linda. ❤️🙏

Susan, Here in BC some people do grow fruit trees, like my daughter who grew a Banana tree when they first built their home. I will look up what areas in BC various types of trees can be grown and what Season is best. I admit I have never seen a Lemon 🍋 or Lime 🍋‍🟩 Tree grown near me. Your weather is perfect for you, I am still amazed that the Lemon 🍋 was green on your tree before it fully ripened as it almost looked like a Lime! 🍋‍🟩 so glad to hear you got the lock on your screen door leading to the garage, and now you can lock the garage door. I can fully understand you would be happy both Archie and Jasper will bark if intruders are nearby. Sometimes we get irritated when our Dogs bark at a drop of a hat but when something happens like it did with the neighbours I am thinking you are looking at your “Boys” in a whole new light and almost welcome their barking. My heart goes out to Eileen as it has to be so hard seeing her husband like this. I am praying for her. It’s hard to let go after so many years of marriage. Colin is so kind and being such a good friend to Joe as he sits with him everyday. I am praying for Colin as it can’t be easy…

Barb, my prayers continue for you. Have a great time, hope you get some good rest and come home refreshed. Safe Travels. 🙏

Marilyn, my prayers continue for you…🙏

Love and Prayers! Be back tomorrow! 🤗🙏

Judith, prayers you got an appointment made for the cancer clinic. It sure be nice for yiu not to have to go there so often and have more healing time. Praying so. I will send some more pics at the end. Amos Iowa is where Iowa state university is, & it’s a bit north of. Des Moines, Iowa the capitol.

Susan have they caught the robbers there? Prayong you get them soon. It’s good yiu have the dogs who would bark did they bark when next door if they hears noise? It’s good Colin put some more locks up too.
How is all of your practicing going? Prayers. Plus for,Joe and his family it’s a hard time, I wonder if he will just go in his sleep. Prayers for his pain too, I hope it’s not bad.

Linda. I am sorry that you lost the info you need i hope it won’t cost too much to get it fixed too. So sorry you will be missed and maybe it won’t be long. 🙏🏻

So, glad you liked the butterflies pics. Mariposa has another cold I assume, runny nose, sore throat and sneezing. I pray 3 doesn’t get the cold with his paralyzed vocal cord is all he needs.
We are in Galena, Illinois tonight right at the border of 3 states, Iowa, Illinois and Wisconsin we are starting to see some color.
Big owes. Harry 3 will be going to 3 day of PT and OT a week starting next week Tuesday, Thursday and Friday he’s making progress I hope with the walker even though they have Annabella starting to walk some he can practice with his walker I think the walker is to get there Thursday.
We went to Amana colonies in Amana, plus pics of Des lines botanical gardens inside so cool. Pic time.
For some reason no pics on my iPad so iPhone time. Yet the pics on my iPhone. Go figure.
