    Hello ladies!

I had my ultrasound with the specialist on Monday, and everything looks great! No vasa previa, placenta moved way up, and cervix is still nice and long! And....we are having a girl!!!! It feels really good to "know" my baby now and to give her a name.

How many calories are you all consuming?? I see some ladies diaries set to 1800 and others to 2100. I keep mine at 2100 and thinking thats why I feel like I am gaining so much. I am hungry all the time and will not depirve myself of food. I just wished I was working out more. I haven't been running but more of ZUmba and Elliptical. I'm already starting to get low back pain ;( anyone else??
What is everyone else doing for workouts?

Lower back pain- yes. Stretch, stretch and strech! Stretch out your hamstrings and try the dromedary (sp?) droop stretch (it's stretching like a cat- get on all fours, raise your back, drop your back) and don't overdo it! I've also been focusing on my posture and only bending over or squatting with my legs. Once I started to really pay attention to my movements and stretch, I noticed the pain wasn't so bad. Good luck with that! My dr also mentioned if the pain gets too bad, he'd recommend someone for a massage/adjustment.

As for working out, I've been walking and doing my Jillian Michaels dvds. Running started bothering my back and I'm tempted to give it another go. We'll see though!

Hey guys we had a horrible thunderstorm yesterday. Picked my son up at a relatives house and wouldn't my luck have I fell down her front stairs leaving. I landed on my right hip but I banged myself up pretty bad since I bounced down 5 stairs. Called the doctor and he didn't seem concerned since I wasn't bleeding and not in any pain. He said it was still early enough that since I landed on my behind instead of my stomach the uterus is still strong enough. I felt him/her moving around last night so hopefully all is well. My mother told me if I can make it 24 hours without any symptoms I should be good (she fell on her stomach with me when she was 7mos and she had me 4 weeks early). Guess I am just looking for some reassurance here. Thank god I go on Monday for my 20week ultrasound (20weeks tomorrow :))

One of my friends fell down a flight of stairs and landed on her belly around 7ish months, and everything was fine. Good to hear that you called your doctor right away!

I slipped on a wet floor and landed flat on my back a couple of weeks ago. My doctor said the same thing: let her know if I had any bleeding or pain. I didn't, and all is well! I've heard that the uterus is a very cushy place, and the baby probably didn't even wake up from her nap when I fell, even though I felt like I caused an earthquake!

Awesome you have your 20 week scan tomorrow!!! That will also be very reassuring.

I can't wait for the ultrasound it is at 3pm not sure I can wait. My doctor told me the uterus was still strong and not easily disturbed like it will be later on. You should see the bruises my husband is not sure how I am walking. on the side of my right hip I ended up with a softball size black bruise it is disturbing and I also bruised my right arm my husband told me I had to wear long sleeves in public with him :) Hopefully baby cooperates and I will know the sex. My husband wants them to put the sex in an envelope and we will let our 8 year old reveal it at dinner. Cute idea but it is driving me crazy. Taking our son to Friendlys for the big reveal tonight (he loves that place). Hopefully I will have something to post tomorrow.

We've got a boy!!!! It has definately helped me to connect more with the baby knowing the gender! And, especially my husband. Plus, now we've been going out to look at cribs and bedding (I might try my hand at making a quilt since nothing is striking my fancy) and carseats, and strollers.. and you know - everything! We've started an online registry which allows us lots of options and the best deals available.. and we'll do a regular registry probably at babies-r-us even though I think they're overpriced. We got a baby doppler to use at home which is very fun. It was a pretty good investment.. my husband has a great time trying to find the baby and talking to it! Thanks Ebay!

Aww congrats Jess! Shopping is going to be so much fun but so much more challenging to NOT buy things! Haha! I've been banned from buying anything else baby related. (it was a necessary ban...)

blink- I'm sure you and baby will be fine. I hope time flies and 3 gets here before you know it. Keep us posted on the u/s. No more slipping and falling- although I'm sure those bruises are a nice reminder all on their own.

This is my last week in the 2nd tri (some say 27 wks some say 28wks- I'll transition next week at 28).

Things have been pretty uneventful on my end. Glucose test tomorrow morning, prepping the nursery for paint tonight, and cleaning the rest of the night because my dad is visiting this week. :)

I am so antsy and want the nursery to be finished. DH wants to paint and hang drywall but is so busy with work he doesn't have the time. I understand he wants to do it himself, but I don't think he understands how crazy a messy house is making me! The nursery furniture we do have is all in our hallway right now!

It is SO hard not to buy everything in sight!!! Hahaha I'm trying to be realistic and only buy things I've heard that will be used and avoid all the stuff that will be a waste of money even if it looks handy lol!
