My highest weight was 302 and lost around 120 pounds. I have been hovering around 178 lately. My weight fluctuates by about 4 to 5 pounds in either direction. I have learned new…

  • I am recovering from a full thickness tear of my supraspinatus and bicep tendon. I fell and hyper extended my arm backwards causing the trauma. I had to do 1 month of PT before the MRI which did not help and elected to have the surgery. It is my dominant side and can say that there were many challenges and had to become…
  • Sorry you went through so many issues post op. With any surgery (WLS surgery is a major procedure) there can be complications as with any other procedure like having your appendix removed. Researching the doctor, facility, question on the number of procedures the surgeon did and also discuss any complications he or she…
  • You nailed it on the head. Surgery is a tool and requires healthy lifestyle changes to be successful.

  • jnmalsch I am sorry to hear you had such issue with the after care. Don't give up. Use MFP as a tool to get back on track. Either configure MFP to your stats and use the recommended calorie goal or find your TDEE and work to stay at that number. When you fall off the wagon it is challenging to get back on but not…
  • I am three years out from WLS (Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy) I originally weighed 302 at my highest and had High blood pressure, diabetes, Sleep apnea, etc. To date I have lost 120 pounds and have been able to maintain my weight for over 2+ years now. Success is not only with the tool but a good support group, team of…
  • I would look at other options. This procedure is coming outdated and has a high potential for complications. There is not substantial weight loss as compared to other procedures. I looking to consider baiatriac surgery I would look at a procedure called the vertical sleeve gastrectomy. I know there is a very large push…

  • Thanks for the feed back.
  • Not sue if this is proper but I prefer to run intervals, even when I run a 5K. I run around a 6.5 - 7 minute mile for 2 minutes and then speed walk around 10 to 11 minute mile for a minute and repeat th interval. I end up averaging around a 8.3 to 8.5 minute mile and finish a 5k under 30 minutes. I have been doing this for…
  • I have been using it for three weeks now and like the work outs it gives you. I use it three days a week and am definitely getting DOMS. Working to failure on most exercises. Going to use it for a few months and then re evaluate my progress and go from there. Are you doing the push pull work outs or the full body? I have…

  • Check out Chisel by Skulpt. Can be purchased on Amazon or at Best Buy. I have one and am impressed with the results. Just like any measuring device it is not always 100% accurate but if you use the readings and measure trends it is a great tool.

  • I have been in maintenance for about 1.5 years after loosing 122 pounds. I have a daily struggle with increasing my calories and also adding carbs to prevent me from loosing additional weight. I maintained at 1800 calories a day but since February I started working out 4 days a week with HIIT and long runs. I have…

  • I had the sleeve October 2014 and have lost 123 pounds. For my preop I had to do two weeks of full liquids. That was challenging. After the third day I went into Ketosis and the hunger pangs went away. make sure to weigh and measure everything post surgery. Not sure if they will put you through phases but I had a few weeks…

The work out changes daily and can be either Endurance,…
