  • Same here. So frustrated that I had lost 55lbs and now I went up 30 ugh. I’m dealing much better with emotions so that’s a plus. I need to get back in logging in my food and start exercising again. Easier said than done but you are all right....at least we are here (again). We need to keep trying!
  • I’m in! Count on me I need support too
  • Yes!! Danica and I went on 2 walks today. In the morning for 2 miles and in the evening for another 3miles!! We are getting there
  • Despite the rain Danica and I went for a 35min walk. Now that the weather is improving I'm hoping to walk more. First I need to get better (sciatic nerve issues)
  • Oh how I wish it would be above freezing! :(. Good for you!!
  • 5 degrees this morning...too cold to walk (salt makes her get leg cramps). So we will try tomorrow although temps r still in the single digits :(
  • Danica (my German shepherd) and I will join the challenge! 2 miles per day for now (way cold outside at the moment).
  • Stress (work related) is getting to me! Need to focus on better eating but I keep reaching out to m&m!!
  • I'm going to stay on "maintenance " until the new year too many temptations and I know it's mental at this point! Just can't lose sight that this is a temporary state at th moment. Being away from home makes losing weight even mor challenging
  • We've talked about healthy habits and even mentioned that he would be helping me lose weight myself so we're all going to eat healthy. But given the amount of food that I give him at home if he was just you eat what I give him I know he would be losing weight. However I really think somehow he gets food from his friends or…
  • @mitch16 this sounds so much like my son! sorry to hear that, but at the same time, sort of glad that it's not just him! I guess part of being a parent is hoping that our children will not make the same mistakes we made; but sometimes we must let them fall so that they figure it out. But when it comes to health, that…
  • i know that he needs to lose weight when he's ready; the issue that i have is that, as a parent, I take the blame for creating the unhealthy habits as i had it myself in the past. As a parent we want what is best for them and I have a hard time watching him gain weight and then developing diabetes, etc. because i did not…
  • @SweatsOnSunday you did good! We can reply right here
  • @SusanFinklaire when I first started losing weight I injured my Achilles tendon and had the same attitude as you "I can't exercise so why should I bother losing weight", then I just started walking/ doing light exercises something that it would not bother my Achilles tendon and I did see a lot of progress because it was a…
  • I'm having the same struggle and I think it's more mental than physical. I've dieted for 1 year, lost 45 lbs but the last 10 have been impossible. Now with the holidays it's even harder with temptations everywhere. So I told myself that I will maintain this weight until January 2nd and then I need to get focused again and…
  • @zorander6 he is under a lot of stress lately. It's his junior year and between a challenging school schedule he just took the PSAT and is getting ready for the sat. He is having to be tutor in physics as well. Lots of pressure so I'm sure he's turning to eating. He won't talk about it which makes it harder to help him.…
  • is it bad to at least get him on the scale?
  • thank you @laur357 I will check it out! :)
  • Thank you for sharing your experience with me. It's good to hear from someone who has been through it (on the other side). I am starting to think that the best way to handle the situation is to make good, healthy meals (which I have been doing) and have a good talk to him about the effects of the extra weight (like…
  • yes he has a girlfriend and has other girls after him from what i hear so weight has not been a factor (yet).... And maybe because, up until now, he has been able to do things, participate in sports and always be a starter in any sport that he has played, he thinks he's OK. Now that he all of the sudden is sitting the…
  • Thank you all so much for your opinions and advice. His doctor mentioned that he is obese and should lose weight (especially because of the hereditary issues in the family like diabetes). His coaches however don't say a word to him! They don't really care from what I see. I do have one young coach that I could talk to and…
  • No....he needs to lift some weight! that would certainly help. He does have a very tight schedule between school work and practices, etc. He is also being tutored so that makes time very hard to find. It's not muscle but guts :( (hate to use that word). He is now much slower on the court due to his weight gain and I'm…
  • Oct 24: 139.8 Oct 31: 140.4 (not good on the weekend; splurging too much)

  • yes, i do spin bike or elliptical 2x per week for about 30 min. My problem has been the weekend! That's when i'm really not focused (too many get togethers). I'm thinking that if i can manage to stay where I am for now and then after boating season is over, then focus on losing the rest of this weight. It's only 3 more…
  • Thank you all for the tips and suggestions! Much appreciated. I think it's "mental" to me. Maybe I should get to maintenance mode and see what happens....I walk about 8 to 10 miles every day and do spin classes 2 x per week (sometimes eliptical). I'm logging every morsel that goes in my mouth but I've been eating more than…
  • I want to chime in because I must agree with some of the comments out there. It seems that you are not ready to commit to losing weight. Believe me I've been there and I could make all sorts of excuses not to exercise. Fact of matter is: there is 24hrs in a day. What you make with that time is up to you. Yes it's HOT! It's…
  • Maybe this thread will motivate me to lose the last 12lbs!! Posting for tomorrow (as my commitment) Just for tomorrow 06/21/2016 1.) walk at lunch at 4mph and at night 2) don't pick at food 3.) track all my food even the diet cranberry juice 4) drink 64oz of water
  • Plateau is just a myth (see link below). Calories in vs. calories out is what creates the deficit (or not) which causes you go lose weight. Make sure you log everything and exercise. You need to create a 3,500 calories deficit to lose 1lb http://www.aworkoutroutine.com/starvation-mode/
