A calorie deficit will result in weight loss and you'll find that you'll probably start eating a little healthier as you go - I found that half a pizza isn't enough for dinner, yet I can have a huge plate of roasted veg with the same amount (or less) of calories. Regarding exercise, there's loads on youtube! I tend to look…

BLOODY HELL! You look amazing!

If you can, get a bag, put it on the scales and fill it with stuff (tins, cartons etc.) until it reaches 17lbs - now try carrying that! THAT is how much you used to carry around with you!!! And you lost it! Every 1/4 pound you lose makes a difference, weight loss takes time...you're going the right way!

Thank you very much for sharing, it's what keeps us all going!

You look fabulous! Trying to see the 1 as well :) Thanks for sharing.

I think it's UTTER RUBBISH! Don't even waste a second thinking about it.

ALL.THE.TIME! And no, ONE piece of chocolate or biscuit does NOT do. I do find that I miss it less if I manage to go a week without (still hard to stay on track though). My 'snack' section is always my 'biggest' meal. If you're in the UK, try nakd bars or a sweet cuppa - doesn't always work for me, but more often than not.…

Sorry, bit late but desperately need a good group to keep me going! I'd also like to rid myself of a stone - could you add me, please?

Hi guys. I'm 34 and from lovely Lancashire. I have started with mfp in 2014 and lost 27lbs over 12 months. I kept off the weight for some time and although I wanted to lose more, I was rather happy with the 'new me'. However, to cut a long story short, I started a PhD and have been piling on the pounds since. Thanks to…

Marvelous work! You look absolutely smashing! Thanks for sharing, this is so motivational. Your teeth are also incredible by the way!!!

I'm also working nights and I just log food whenever I eat it, so everything after midnight will appear on the next day's diary. I've done this for weeks now and can't tell the difference.

Your headline states week 1. If this is indeed your first week, you really shouldn't be worried at all! And secondly 1 lb per week is good! Losing it slowly is much better & you're more likely to keep it off/follow your 'new' life style.

I had to go and check now...I've lost my cat & his food :) Great idea!!

Coffee & a cigarette ... old habits die hard

I mix lentils with giant couscous, any other pulses, seeds + a vinegar, oil dressing & spices/herbs. Serve cold on some rocket. Add chicken or feta for the non-vegan version.

After, as I put my plate on the scales, so I can weigh everything I serve up. I just make sure I get the correct nutritional info.

I don't even take notice of the people around me. I set my own challenges with myself. Who cares what other people do? Focus on your own achievements :)

Friend. Best friend indeed! Preferably baked with some butter & baby leaf salad...must go and cook now :)

Firstly, everyone is different, so all I've got to say comes from my personal experience. When I first started using mfp, I lost around 7 lbs very swiftly and then...nothing :( I became disheartened & frustrated. But I just kept going; I had good and bad days but I didn't give up. It has taken me almost 6 months to lose 23…

WOW! This is truly incredible & inspiring! Thank you so, so much for sharing!

I can only agree with some of the other statements: The 'couch to 5K' plan is great! I'm still doing it and it really gets you used to running more & more. Shoes is definitely something to think about! I've had a lot of knee trouble, possibly caused by the 'wrong' running shoes. Just start small; over-doing it will just…

I definitely concur! I do think about whether I really want something or just eat it because it's available. But I'm against restricting yourself! If you've always liked pizza, you won't be able to stick to not eating it over time - the binges will get worse! I'm more aware of what I eat now, but when I go out for a nice…

Same here. I've lost 22 lbs so far. I'm 5'11" so it doesn't show as quickly. Nobody noticed anything, but I do - my old jeans fit :) As mentioned before, people who see you every day won't notice. Taking pictures of myself helped me to realise my progress also! Give it time!
