OP - I know I'm late to the game but I strongly suggest seeing a registered dietician. This helped my FIL and my father immensely. Both have diabetes, but have different dietary needs. Their RD's helped give them guidelines structured for their needs rather than going by general advice. It might be your best bet in…

When I stepped on the scale and saw 150, that was the last straw for me. I had gained about 20 lbs in a year & a half. I felt super hot when i was 130, so that's my goal...maybe 125.

I'm the same way. When I'm out or with others I'm ok, but at home it's harder for me. Since I'm in control of grocery shopping I get control over what snacks are in the house, so I just don't buy things I'll regret eating. This way I won't be tempted to snack or binge (I'm lookin' at you pringles!).

Throw in Star Wars and our list is identical - minus the sewing, that's pretty cool, I can barely sew a button. My mother just gave me her Star Wars novels since she finished them, so I might get started on that....anyone read them? I was really into comics as a kid, had all my brothers "hand me downs" but I'm not…

The coconut flavor just takes over for me, I'm not a fan. I prefer unsweetened vanilla almond, but I also use organic soy milk because it adds the least flavor, especially in my coffee.

I drink a lot of water. I have a refillable 16 oz cup so I have to get up and refill that often, plus not only does drinking water benefit me, but it makes me have to get up to use the bathroom which is pretty far so I'm forced away form my desk to get up stretch a bit, and take the long way there and back. My office is…

It's not talking about all Canadians, or even all women in Canada. Only women in that specific age bracket...which is not a very big bracket So a woman who is 27 or 28 wouldn't be included for your results.

So I have a lower BMI than 53% of women my age in the US, but higher than 86% of women my age globally. This is definitely motivation!

After I had my daughter, I got active, ate better and was a at a healthy weight about 120lbs for my 5'2" frame. I was happy but people kept saying I looked too skinny, I lost too much weight. I let it get to me, said maybe I am too skinny!? and now I'm overweight, go figure. These same people are now saying I don't need to…

For me it helps curb snacking. If I'm feeling the munchies, especially at night, I'll make myself a cup of tea. I have different teas depending on my mood/need so it's always satisfying.

Ok, thanks for all the input. At work I take my lunch break at about 12:30, and have my tea with a small snack, usually nuts around 3pm, then dinner after I get home about 6:30. If I'm hungry in the morning I do eat, but otherwise, I'll just listen to when my body tells me to feed it. If I had done that in the first place…

Remember not all carbohydrates are created equal. It's easy to label all of them bad, but biologically you need sufficient healthy carbohydrate intake. Just stay away from simple or refined carbohydrates like white bread, refined sugars, etc. Try and include (in moderation of course) complex carbohydrates like whole grains…

I have to agree. I'm planning on eating lol. It's really food I only eat once a year, I don't really care if others agree with that or not (that sounded snarkier than I expected). That being said, with my father being diabetic and my mother's high blood pressure, the food they make is relatively healthy, low in salt and…

A lot of times we confuse thirst for hunger. Every time you "feel" hungry when you know that you ate, try drinking water or tea.

vegetarian slow cooker lasagna. lightly oil the bottom & edges so the noddles don't stick. Put about 1/2 cup of tomato sauce on bottom. Break up lasagna noodle and layer on sauce. Add cheese (I like provolone), layer veggies (I use spinach and mixed veggies - diced carrots, green beans, peas, corn), then a layer of…

I'm so bad at this... 31??

Wow. Thanks all. I love me some veggies (excepts beets and pickles...never beets and pickles), I make a mean vegetable lasagna and stuffed peppers! I'm not a big fan of those fake meat things, I don't think they taste good, I'd much rather chow on veggies and legumes when at home, so I guess I'm trying to eat a more…

Don't eat or make it if you don't like it. Healthy food doesn't have to be bland or boring. I like my salads colorful. Mixed greens, lots of different veggies, maybe red, yellow, orange, green peppers, some mushrooms, carrots, tomatoes, avocado, peas, green beans maybe some chickpeas. You could add nuts for some crunch.…

I'm also coming back to mfp. I work full time, I'm a mom, wife, and I take online courses, so believe me I get it with having no time! I plan on using the app more this time than before. I think it'll help with at least logging in the food especially when you're on the go. Does your college have a gym or track on campus?…

Thanks! I did check out the group. I'm with you on the morning star, veggie patch, etc brands. Every once in a while, but I'd rather just eat whole foods, plus I don't want to have too much of soy intake. i have a hard time digesting milk/cheese so I by unsweetened almond milk rather than soy milk.
