  • Women's pants sizes suck. When I was bigger, I would struggle to find ones that fit ok in waist AND hips, but they were usually long enough (Im 5'9"). Now I'm a size 10 nz and I they are all too short. It's like they assume you must be small in all dimensions. I wear almost exclusively skirts and dresses for that reason. I…
  • Amazing. And you got some serious air on that jump, you're flying!
  • Awesome, that is truly something to celebrate! Winning tests of willpower are still some of my most prized NSVs because they show me I am still in control of my relationship with food. And spinach is truly delicious :)
  • I love the difference in your facial expression and body language between your pics - you look so much happier and more confident in your after pic! And you look amazing - congrats on your achievements :)
  • My nsv is that thanks to my change in lifestyle my husband has also lost weight and fits back into his wedding suit. He's recovering from surgery so exercise is an issue for him, so all my hard work has been helping him too. :)
  • Completed day 1 of my new exercise plan yesterday. I have 21 weeks before a 160km bike race - Eeek! At least day 1 was an hour of easy spinning on the indoor trainer. I have to start somewhere!
  • Last night my husband wanted take aways for dinner. I was ok with that since I'd done a big run earlier in the day. But didn't want to go crazy. So we settled on fish from the fish & chip shop, but rldry roasted some potatoes and other veg instead of chips and had heaps of other veg on the side to fill us up. It was…
  • Haha, that's Awesome!
  • I raced in my first half marathon today since losing weight and getting back into running. I finished in 1hr47, which was faster than I thought I would (I had expected 1:55 with an ultimate goal of 1:50). I am so proud of myself!
  • This morning I was getting changed after a swim. My husband looked up and said "wow, you have abs!" I've never had abs you could see before! Rolls you could see from space, but abs, not so much. Feeling pretty proud of myself about now :D
  • That's pretty much my story too! I was a ??DD (I ended up wearing elasticated crop tops because I couldn't find bras to fit... So not sure on exact size) and am now a 38B. I did my measurements this morning, and still lost a couple of cms of my chest this month.... *sigh* On a positive note, it does make exercise easier, I…
  • Just when you think your boobs couldn't possibly get any smaller... They do.
  • I am feeling really confident about the half marathon I am running in a week. I did my best pace ever in my 10k pace run on Wednesday (4:32/km!). This got me motivated to find some more challenges, so I have bought a 2nd hand road bike and am going to train up for the Taupo Cycle Challenge (160km) in late November. The…
  • That's such an awesome example to set for your kids. :)
  • Yep, I have made a trip every week for months to get rid of the old stuff. I think I've pretty much done the last of it today.
  • I totally agree. I have now only got one size of clothes in my wardrobe, so I can't just drift back into my fat clothes without noticing! And they are all good quality clothes that fit and make me feel fabulous. But it is seriously expensive having to do it all in one season! But it's certainly an incentive to stay this…
  • I had a tough day yesterday. I had got up early to get in a swim (so a good start) but work was pretty full on and I didn't leave until almost 8pm. I also had left my phone at home, which is how I usually track food during the day. Anyway, things started to go pear shaped when someone had baked some delicious cookies and…
  • Holy moly, you don't even look like the same person! That must have been an epic journey for you, congratulations on a job well done :)
  • I've been better at listening to my body. I actually upped my calorie goal because I had been really tired and fatigued. I have been working out a lot (Im at the tail end of half marathon training, so lots of running...) but as a rule I dont eat back my exercise cals. So I upped my goal a little and I'm feeling much better…
  • Sometimes those workouts you didn't think you wanted to do turn out to be the best ones! Congrats on great progress, and getting out there.
  • Yay for arm definition! Similarly, my husband came home tonight while I was doing yoga. And he said "omg look at your arm muscles - you're hulking out on me!" (in a nice way). I'm totally not, but there is definitely some muscle there which you can see when I'm working hard! I was stoked, cos I've been trying really hard…
  • That your priorities change. Fitting in my exercise is now a really high priority for me. As is making time to shop for and cook healthy food. Previously those two things were the bottom of the list - which resulted in an obese me eating take aways and watching lots of telly far too often. It is making it hard to fit in…
  • That really sucks! But I guess it shows who your true friends are. As well as getting to know fellow gym bunnies, you could also try joining a sports club or running/walking/cycling group to meet active people who share your lifestyle. Maybe pretend like you are new in town (well, the new you IS new in town!) and think…
  • You are certainly rocking that red dress! You look stunning!
  • A colleague of mine asked another colleague today "if Angela in the reform team was still the same Angela, or a new one". When she was told that I am in fact still me, she couldn't believe I was the same person! Which is kind of hilarious because we work on the same floor. Obviously I need to venture out onto the other…
  • You are amazing! and you are looking fabulous. Definitely my inspiration for the day :)
  • Just stick at it and I'm sure you'll get there! We all have to start somewhere :)
  • I bought a skirt at the weekend in a nz size 8 (us4). I have literally NEVER been a size 8 before. I wore it yesterday to work and felt awesome. Also, when I was in the store, the sales assistant (so not exactly impartial) said "it's like our clothes were made to fit you" and it's true, they fit perfectly in all the right…
  • It's such a good feeling getting rid of those old bigger sizes isn't it! Congratulations :)
