Ive done two marathons so i will say go for it! Can you run at least 3 times a week including one long run? Four times is better. The key is consistency. Try to plan a few races between now and your marathon to get you used to it. Find a 5k time trial near you, not sure where you are but in London most areas have got them…

I am sometimes in the zone as uou describe but i have also experienced the runner high. For me everything is just so intense for a minute, like a mini-orgasm. It is usually at the end of a race, i sprint, the music is loud, the people are cheering... And boom: Runners high! Very intense for a minute or so and it slowly…

Wow! Thanks for all the info. There are some serious professionals out here. I have been toying with the idea of buying a running watch but it is hard to justify the spending. I will have a look at runkeeper and will calculate my calories spent using the MET formula (thanks for that). I supposed if i work out the…

I guess the main thing would be to never run the same route at the same hour, for personal safety? Although there will always be some weirdos lurking in dark alleys.

Im in for 50k. Although im not one to update the thread everytime i go for a run, i can update from time to time only.

Why dont you eat back only (say) 50% of all the burnt calories in excess of (say) 500? Say you run off 700 calories, you eat only 100 extra. You run off 1000 calories, you eat 250 extra You run off 450cal, no extra cals to eat. You could make a rule like that with your own parameters.

Please feel free to add me as a friend too :)

Hello, ive just started fasting so looking for company really! Im doing 6:1 for now (and it went very well) and last week i managed a day at 750 cals as well as my FD. I might try another fast day on thursday again. My problem is the weekend... Everytime there is a social event i tend not to care as im busy chatting etc...…

Hiya, i too used to be anorexic and stick thin and i too have three kids now! Have you ever done some CBT? I found it really helpful. Also i try to focus on my kids rather than on my body. Is there something in your life that isnt right at the moment? Maybe you should look for causes... Often "we" try to gain control over…

I know i could but if i look under my weekly nutrition, they are accounted for and i would like to know how much of a deficit i have really. Plus i find that if they are automatically added then i am more likely to be tempted to eat them (which i dont but i do ask myself)
-
Oysters? Do they have proteins then?

I wear a neon yellow jacket from nike and it does the job well. I am concerned about my safety so i tend to avoid running at night though.

Mainly parks since i live in a big city. I do enjoy discovering places when we are on holidays. I sometimes wonder about my personal safety though. Once i went for a run in the countryside on a wooden trail and i went back after 15 mins as i was too scared to find either a warthog or a psychopath... Crazy me

I would like to run a half marathon in 2015 and maybe a marathon in 2016... If my body allows me of course! Before having 3 children i used to run marathons. Now... It is hard and i have lots of health niggles... I can only take it very slowly. I would also like to run 10k in less than 1hr.

Youve probably put on muscles... Are you clothes slightly bigger yet you have the same weight?

Have you read "born to run"? In short, wear your shoes during the day to "tire" them and they will be more comfy. Studies have shown that the more expensive shoes, the more injuries!!! Hence the "no sole" fashion at the moment. Good luck
