    Right on track.

    I saw an interesting business on my run today. Can this really mean what I think it means?
    Dog hair and donuts... mutts and muffins... pooches and paninis... canines and cupcakes... beagles and bagels... it's a lose/lose no matter how you look at it...
    Im going with "puppies and pastries" :)
    Has to be puppy treats bakery (puppy pastries?), at least I hope so!

    @ayalowich - a 7:30 pace is awesome!

    @Lesleycali‌ - Congratulations on the 10K PR!

    Haha - this reminds me of a sign I saw once in the front of a house. It said "Pit bulls for Sale. Babysitting/Day care." Nothing against Pit Bulls! I love all dogs. Just saying... I don't think many people would trust dropping off their baby/toddler at house with pit bulls running around, especially if the owner is trying to get rid of the dogs. Obviously if they are trained properly they are great dogs.

    @ayalowich
    Wow! 7:30 is great! I'm happy with 9:30 for now. Go Gators! :wink:

    ^^^ This is what I tell people when they ask why I run!

    Also do you ice your calf? I make ice cups in small kid size paper cups that I can rub on the sore area. I have used them after running when I have had injuries to my shin, calf and feet and they work great to reduce the inflammation and stiffness.

    Lesleycali.... Great job 10k under one hour , something I aspire to do.

    skippygirlsmom..... Great they are looking at your back problem so quickly, hope they can solve the problem soon.

    2.3 miles to add today . 13.6 total. 46.4 to do.
    I'd really love to set up a ticker too but just don't know how to transfer it from the ticker web site to my posts. Any help would be much appreciated.

    Yay - my legs still work, and I'm done with my goal for the month.

    Knees were buckling when taking short walks on Monday/Tuesday so I'm glad I was able to get through my 3 miles today now that I've been cleared to resume my running.

    Guests are coming in tonight for the weekend, and I'm heading off to go skiing/film watching Tuesday (Sundance Film Festival), so only one more longer run on Sunday (8 miles), lots of cross training, and I'll resume my marathon training (May) once I get back to town in February.

    January 1 - 5 miles
    January 3 - 5 miles
    January 4 - 12 miles
    January 5 - 4 miles
    January 8 - 5 miles
    January 9 - 4 miles
    January 10 - 3 miles
    January 11 - 8 miles
    January 13 - 3 miles
    January 14 - 4 miles
    January 17 - 2 miles
    January 18 - 26.2 miles (@ 8:48 pace)
    January 22 - 3 miles

    Total: 84
    Goal: 84

    Thanks all for the support (and kudos).

    I'd really love to set up a ticker too but just don't know how to transfer it from the ticker web site to my posts. Any help would be much appreciated.
    You can create the ticker on the website given in the first post of this month,
    on the tickerfactory webpage:

    - you first pick a background image (e.g. I took the waves this month)& click on "next";

    - then you select a picture for the slider (e.g. a fish) & click on "next"

    - then you get to a settings page, where you chose a password (you'll need this for updating your miles), what you are tracking and what your goal is. After filling out these forms, click "next" again

    - Then you get to a page which sais "Done", shows your ticker, and gives some code snippets. You are interested in the "bbCode" field. The bit between the "img-tags" is what you want to copy in here when you post something. This will look like:
    [img]http://tickers.TickerFactory.com/ezt/t/wCGWc43/exercise.png[/img]

    Another bit of information from the bbCode field you will want to store for yourself is the link to the ticker you just created - that's the bit in the url tag, e.g.
    [url=http://www.TickerFactory.com/exercise/wCGWc43/]

    If you go to that address in your browser and enter your password, you can change the ticker, for example to add a few miles.

    ---

    1.1.15 - 3.7km
    3.1.15 - 5.4km
    4.1.15 - 13.3km
    6.1.15 - 3.5km
    9.1.15 - 6.4km
    11.1.15 - 11.0km
    13.1.15 - 4.4km
    16.1.15 - 5km
    18.1.15 - 14.7km
    22.1.15 - 4km
    71.4 km (of 100km) done

    Thanks for the well wishes! I plan to follow doc's orders and I'll be back running in no time! You all keep carrying on and I'll keep popping in to see how everyone is doing. :smile:

    Sorry to hear you're on the shelf. Hopefully you get cleared to run again soon!

    Yes, forgot about that, that's also an option. In that case you'll have to copy the entire bit in the "bbCode" into your post, not only the image bit, otherwise the clicking doesn't work.
