  • I'm currently being evaluated for BP. I'm on seroquel, and so far it seems to be helping. I've lost over 70 pounds, and I've still got 14 to go, but my weight loss has slowed down significantly. I honestly think if I gain weight, it will send me into a tailspin. My dad was BP, and I assumed since I'm 42, I had avoided it.…
  • Way to go! Slow and steady, and we'll get there!
  • I finished Aftershock, and I'm in week two of Prime. I've lost over 30 inches so far. I really like the no nonsense approach to the workouts.
  • I started with walking, and I invested in some very good shoes. Hoka One One makes very padded shoes that take a lot of pressure off the knees.
  • I'm so sorry about your knees! It's a horrible feeling to know that you can't move like you want to. I can tell you that I began to notice a change after the first 10 pounds. Good luck! You've got this!!!
  • I think the most important thing is to get control of your hunger. How much protein do you consume? Do you use protein powder? That's what gets me through the day.
  • I think I will when I lose the last 14 pounds and hit my goal. I'm not ashamed of my tummy, but the loose skin makes clothes not fit the way I want.
  • I'm 41, and have managed to lose 36 pounds. I've got 14 to go, and I've hit my first plateau. I'm getting measured this Friday, so I'm hoping I've dropped inches, even if I haven't dropped pounds in a while. Add me if you would like.
  • I guess I'm just going to have to make myself eat more meat.

  • Doctor said allergy, but I really hope not. I hope the GI will say it's just a sensitivity.

  • My doctor said to get more than 100 grams a day.

  • Not a vegetarian, but I have a lot of difficulty getting the recommended amount of protein every day. I like meat, but I could definitely live without it.

  • Is it chalky?

  • Can't do soy. Thyroid disease. Good grief! I'm starting to believe I can't eat anything! Anybody got any good protein shake recipes to make the chalky stuff go down easier?

  • Thanks! I'm still waiting on my referral to a GI, but my primary says I definitely have a dairy allergy. (Which sucks, because...cheese :( ) Anyway, I guess I need to play around with the protein powder I have, to see if I can make it more palatable. It's super yucky, tho!

  • I checked the list of ingredients, and it contains casein. It's listed as lactose free, but not dairy free. Thanks anyway! :)

  • I checked the list of ingredients. It contains casein protein, so I can't have it.

  • My doctor is the one who introduced the body type thing to me. She says it is true that different body types carry fat and muscle differently, and lose/gain muscle differently. I can walk through a weight room and bulk, and if I do too much cardio, I gain, no matter what my caloric intake is. She also said that different…
  • I have the same thing. I saw my doc on Monday, and she thinks is a gastric ulcer. I had my gall bladder removed 17 years ago, and the pain is identical. She's testing me for h pylori, and she's put me on a gluten free diet.
  • @wonderwoman1205 me too! I'm not giving up! Good luck on your journey!
  • Thanks...my endocrinologist explained that since my metabolism hasn't worked in several years, that it may be impossible to reset my body weight set point.
  • I would like to join. I really need some sound advice. I'm 41, wife and mom, and I've been battling hypothyroidism for about 5 years. Combine that with being over 40, and the weight just won't go away! I'm extremely active: I run 3 days a week, strength train three days a week, and walk every day. My husband and I also…
  • I'm in! I've used MFP before, but wasn't very committed. I'm very active (tennis, hiking, running), but I don't do a good job with tracking my food intake, so I'm not seeing the scale move. I'm ready to give it my all!

  • Just started Venus Factor. I've focused on cardio with a little strength training for years, but it doesn't work the way it used to. I'm excited to see if these workouts and the eating plan help me get thru this plateau.
