Brilliant!

That’s what I was going to point out too! I agree you are doing great and there’s no reason for surgery that could potentially mess up your body forever. 1/2 lb is a 1/2 lb and as someone who has backslid and gained 18 lbs after losing 98, I wish I was back to losing 1/2 lb a week. As Dr Now says - if you’re not losing,…

No need to even “start fresh” - that implies you are “on a diet”. Just with continue your plan. If you were driving from LA to NY and took a wrong turn halfway there, you wouldn’t go back to LA, you would just get back on the route!

I’m not offended - it’s just stupid and sexist
-
I lost 0.1 today - yeah!!

Our work is here is done ✅

Now it’s being discovered that many people following surgery trade the food “addiction” for alcohol or drugs. That is what happened to my cousin. Not only did she never get to her goal weight, she’s gained back what she lost and more and drinks heavily which she never did before. She is now 64 and has decided to just “give…

At home you weigh naked first thing in the morning. At the doctors office, you have on clothes and may have eaten breakfast and drank coffee. Presto - 5 lbs. I’m going tomorrow and will face the same - although I do have actual weight gained since last visit, it will still be higher than my home weight that morning.

How do your kids get the food to cook and bake if you only go to the grocery store 3 or 4 times a year?
-
Because her goal of skinny is the least of her issues and I didn’t see her counting and logging those fast food meals. My facetious-ness didn’t translate obviously - sorry.
-
You ain’t getting “skinny” on Chipotle and Chinese
-
Im sorry but I have to ask - what do you feed your children for breakfast? What about fruits and vegetables for them?
-
I guess that wound be considered cooking.

Another vote for Athleta - the fit is great and they stay up and wick moisture excellently.

It sounds to me like you’ve got it all covered! I’m impressed by your patience and consistency with the slow and steady losses when you have to little to lose. Keep up with the increased walking so your can eat a little more. And yes, you have to manually readjust your cals as you lose so that’s why it went from 1330 to…

I had to go on them due to a hiatal hernia not acid reflux. I had also gained almost 100 lbs over about 4 years. I was literally throwing up every night After losing my first 50 lbs, no more need thankfully. Good luck!

Follow your feelings and maybe postpone it? Spend another 3 months counting calories and see how much more you lose. There are 100’s of people on this site that have lost 100-200-300 lbs without surgery messing up their body for life. And there are many who have had surgery and gained it all back - some never even getting…

Eating after a certain time in the evening means those calories don’t burn off is another good one - right up there with diet soda will make you gain weight. Good luck with your weight loss - you’re in the right place!
-
Aha - that sometimes works for me too!
-
Sorry, I combined 2 responses in one. It was the OP that said she was going to disregard those cals. Since she is struggling with her plan, I just thought I’d mention that.
-
Who are you spite-ing?
-
When the Map My Run info syncs with MFP, the calorie adjustment should take that into account. Those shouldn’t be disregarded.
-
I don’t want to know how my body would respond if I ate 7 1/2 lbs of broccoli in a day!
-
OP here - it’s been interesting reading everyone’s comments. Can I throw out one more question? If the woman in the story is going to all the trouble to create an app to find rstiarants with seating large enough for her, is she also accepting/acknowledging/resigning herself that (at only 30) she will always be obese?
-
Have you reentered your lower weight into the setup to get a new calorie goal? The reason I ask is because I’m also 5’5” and at 185, 1 lb a week for me is 1250 but that might be because I’m 60? I mention it because sometimes people think it adjusts automatically.
-
I’ve noticed that it also depends on over what period of time you get your steps in. I get a totally different adjustment if, say, I do 6000 steps over the course of my 12 hour day (average) compared to a 6000 step (3 miles or so) walk in an hour.
