  • I just added you. Feel free to add me back as I am in a similar position and definitely need support. Been on this board before. Successfully dropped 20 lbs 2 years ago and gained it all back. Stepped on the scale this AM and wanted to cry because I am exactly right back where aI started. On with this journey again....
  • Yes. In 2011 I lost 20 lbs, using MFP, tracking cals and exercising. I got down to my goal weight and maintained it for only a few months. I slowly put back on 5 lbs, then 10 lbs...and now (2 years later) I am right back where I started. Very frustrating and I think I also had that "I'm invincible" attitude. I know this is…
  • I buy the old fashioned oats and measure out 1 serving (1/2 cup = 150 cals). Then I either add fruit (blueberries, raspberries, or bananas are my fave) or a serving of almonds. I use the Emerald 100 cal packs (my favorite with my plain oatmeal is the cinnamon almonds). Delicious and filling.

  • Thanks for sharing! Can't wait to try these!
  • Some fabulous ideas - thanks for sharing everyone!
  • Sounds amazing! Thanks for posting!
  • I always thought I'd have to size down, because I am a pear shape but I just bought a few pairs of GAP jeans 2 weeks ago. I was barely squeezing into my 10s during the summer, and now I am a proud size 8! I bought an 8 in the perfect boot, always skinny, and curvy fits. I bought a 6 in the long and lean (they run huge, and…
  • I was getting tired of salads for awhile, but these recipes are making me hungry! My go to salad this summer was: mixed greens cherry tomatoes cucumbers green or red pepper chick peas feta or goat cheese dried cranberries Add small handful of walnuts and/or chicken for protein! And for dressing, I love Ken's Steakhouse…
  • I agree with this. All of these foods keep me full & are tasty. I especially love Teddie Unsalted Peanut Butter. Yum! Also, since I could eat WAY more than a serving of almonds, I buy the 100 emerald almond calorie packs. You can get them in natural, cocoa roasted, and cinnamon roasted. It keeps me in check and I also…
  • Yum! Bump!

  • Thanks for sharing!! Bump!
  • I am 5'8", my highest weight this year that I recorded was 166 (this was sometime early summer), and I joined MFP August 3rd. I started MFP at 164, current weight is 153. I feel really good. It's funny though, when I look in the mirror, I don't notice a difference, but there is a big difference in my clothes, and obviously…
  • Listen to your body. I've had knee issues recently and found that Pilates has helped me immensely. I did Pilates a few years ago religiously and just got back into it this summer and since July I have lost 2 inches from my tummy and 1 inch from my hips.
  • I totally agree. I love a bit of lemon or lime in my water. It helps a lot when I just can't drink plain water. I'll have to try other fruits too!

  • I also asked this question awhile ago - and got the same mixed responses. I stopped monitoring sugar so closely because I was going over, but mainly from fruits. Definitely experiment and see what works for you. If I end up hitting a plateau, I plan on re-evaluating sugar, among other things. Good luck!
  • You guys, I am moved to tears right now. I can't believe all of the support and words of encouragement. Thank you SO much. It really means the world to me. I have struggled for years with weight and since I am on the taller side, people are always telling me I don't need to lose weight. It's quite frustrating because for…
  • I joined MFP about a month ago and just saw this posting. I would like to join, since I just updated my goals and by Christmas I hope to reach my goal weight! Do we just weigh in and post?
  • Thank you SO MUCH. This is great info. I will definitely check out your food diary!
  • Thanks for this link!
  • Me either! I try my best to eat my veggies, but I would choose fruit any day! :)
  • I've had the same desk job for 5.5 years so I know exercise is crucial. My mom has always been very healthy but my dad recently passed away from a heart attack. He was overweight for quite a while, bad eating habits, and virtually no exercise. It's kind of kicked me in the butt and made me realize I NEED to exercise,…
  • Yes, my main sugar is in my fruit. I rarely use aspartame (only if I have a soda, which is maybe a couple times a month) and I don't use artificial sweetener if I drink tea (not a coffee drinker). Thanks for the info re: the carbs in fruit!
