Some people actually recommend only doing net carbs for fibrous vegetables and regular carbs for anything else. I go by total carbs just to be safe and also because I set a higher carb limit (50g) due to breastfeeding.

I recently started keto to help with psoriatic arthritis. It has other benefits as well as you're switching your metabolic system to using fat as fuel rather than sugar. So far, this change has made it easier for me to eat at a deficit and not feel hungry...and I've tried many other dietary changes before this. But…

Newbie here. Just started keto 5 days ago though I've been on MFP off and on for about 2 years now. I should mention that I am eating at maintenance as I am breastfeeding and hoping that will be enough deficit without lowering my milk supply. Good luck everyone! SW 249.9 GW 130.0 12/31: 227.0

We have one and have made all kinds of things in it. We've found it best to really season your batters well as the lack of oil removes a lot of flavor. We sometimes also lightly spritz some oil on the food before it goes in so it isn't drenched but adds a nice crunch without drying the food out.

I'm just starting out on keto (today would be day 4) as I'm a carbaholic. Keto is tough but it's the only diet change I've ever made that keeps me satisfied after meals and still eat at a deficit. Other diets left me feeling hungry or annoyed me because I couldn't eat high fatty foods either. It helps because I love me…

There's a new group that just started called keto for beginners with several members. As for recipes, try Pinterest and you will find an abundant amount of keto and other low carb recipes.

New to keto (started yesterday with my husband). I'm hoping it will help with weight loss and a recent diagnosis of psoriatic arthritis. I'm specifically interested in how this diet will impact me long term, impact breastfeeding, and impact my child if he were to be eating as we do. Funny that this group was just created…

I won't try liver, snails, oysters, or anything that smells so awful as to make me gag (such as things like sardines, herring, smelly fruits or really smelly cheeses). I enjoy most vegetables and fruits (minus tomatoes) and have been adventurous enough to try various animals and some animal parts, but I didn't like all of…

I out on my work pants today after five days off and a holiday and they were looser than last week! This is the first time my clothes have changed a bit since I began. Still haven't dropped a size, but now I know it's coming soon!

I'm always open to new friends. I'm the complete opposite of a vegan, though. HIGHLY carnivorous. So, as long as you're okay with that, hit me up!

I'm always happy to add new friends. Down 15lbs, have about 100 to 110 more lbs to go. Slowly but surely!

My mind. All the other physical stuff is awesome too, but my mind is really what's making me capable of all of this change...and I'm loving how it's beginning to shape into something different.

So, earlier this week I had to replace my scale with a different one and the there was a whopping 6 lbs difference! Of course it wasn't six lbs in a favorable direction. So, I'm adjusting my numbers to reflect this change. I had a large loss this week after upping my calorie intake. I was feeling very sluggish and knew it…

I am trying to conceive. I wanted the best possible atmosphere for a growing baby and easier delivery for me. Fit and healthy was the only way. Now it's morphed into something I want for me as well. Tired of treating my body like a garbage disposal.

Mmmm. Smoked turkey. So good!...One year we did a deep pit turkey. It was so delicious. I think I'm just a turkey lover, lol.
-
I'm bringing roasted brussel sprouts instead of pie to thanksgiving dinner. It will be the first year ever that I've not made pie or some dessert. I'm hoping to fill up on veggies and turkey. Not much of a sweet eater, so I'm not too concerned with how I will fare.
