  • Weighing in. Not too much loss this month. I think I've indulged a bit too much with homemade cheesecake and diet soda. 2/4: 219.0 2/11: 218.0 2/18: 218.0 2/25: 217.8
  • Weighing in. No loss this week. I splurged on real pizza last Sunday night and I've been paying for it all week. My arthritis flared up and I felt bloated all week. I also struggled with crazy carb cravings. Ugh. Glad to be past it all again. It seems like all the foods that I once loved aren't as appealing anymore when I…
  • Weighing in. Happy with results of my lazy keto style thus far. I even got to enjoy some halo top this week. This is the beginning of my 7th week on keto and I don't really know if I'm in ketosis as I don't test or anything, but over the last 3 weeks I've felt more energy than usual during the day (granted I am anemic and…
  • I'm in again. Lost from last week but I ate a bowl of popcorn last night so this week may be slow going lol. It's cool though because I'm feeling so much healthier since starting keto overall. I'm in it for health, not really weight. 2/4: 219.0
  • I started getting in my 20s too. Just had my first child at 30 and now it's like I've got gray everywhere. Darn hormones and junk genetics lol.
  • And yet with all the "explanations" very few have actually answered her question. That's my point. As someone who has experienced similar feedback for my questions, it can be very frustrating when everyone wants to "educate" you rather than answer a simple question.
  • https://lowcarbyum.com/minute-microwave-muffin-in-a-mug/ https://howtothisandthat.com/keto-fathead-rolls/ I've tried both of these and they are fantastic bread substitutions. The second link is a variation on the fathead pizza dough and is very cheesy and delicious. The first link is more bland and works well as a white…
  • This. Eat below carb cutoff, eat at protein cutoff, the rest should be fat until no longer hungry.
  • I mean...you could say that about any diet. The statistics aren't fantastic when you look at who is successful at keeping the weight off. If there was such a successful diet then the fitness and weight loss industry wouldn't be booming. I think that's variable as well. Many people have been successful in changing their…
  • I dig mushrooms burgers....but every time i get one there they overcook it and its relatively flavorless. I make my own now with a lettuce wrap. Delish.
  • The sodium should be higher on a lchf diet. Not too sure about the rest.
  • First time mom
  • Veggies should not be an issue for you if you're using net carbs instead of total carbs. I too have psoriatic arthritis so I'm using keto to help with inflammation, but I'm also breastfeeding so I've got to keep my carbs on the higher side or it messes with my supply. I still eat tons of veggies. In fact, I eat a big salad…
  • I'd like to add that I bought my first pint of halo top and I have to agree that it doesn't taste like traditional ice cream. It is lacking in the creaminess department. However, it is the best alternative I have found and, since going keto, the only ice cream I consume. Side note: I'm not a huge sweets fan, never have…
  • I think i tried to add you? I've never added anybody before so if it didn't work you can hit me up lol. I've got a 5.5 month old, first child, and I'm doing keto for health. Weight loss is a bonus. Since I'm a new mom, babies are pretty much all I ever want to talk about at this point lol. See you around!
  • What do you primarily eat to get all your micronutrients, if I may ask? I feel like 0 carb would eliminate veggies?
  • Sunflower seeds or salami and cheese are my go to snacks. Hubby likes pork rinds (yuck). We tried the quest bars at someone else's suggestion but we're not fans...so yeah.
  • It may have fewer carbs and sugars than other breads but it's still way too high in my opinion. One slice of that would mean absolutely zero other carbs for the day and that's a no go for me. I need my veggies.
  • IIRC, consuming erythritol has no effect on blood sugar levels and is excreted out of the body unchanged....theoretically making it one of the few artificial sweeteners that aren't necessarily terrible for you. Is that not correct?
  • I did a 10 day run on it when getting tested for RA. Omg that drug sucks. I wanted to eat all the things. I did gain, but went back to losing after discontinuing. I'm now doing LCHF, specifically keto, to help inflammation without drugs.
  • Weighing in. Doing well this week. Definitely making up for last week's debacle. Curious, I know it's best to not lost more than 1 to 2 lbs per week (i.e healthiest) but because I am considered morbidly obese, is it safe to say that I will lose quite a bit more per week? I mean, surely I'm done losing the initial water…
  • Fair enough. Although, I'd venture to say the average diet likely does not consist of 10+ servings of veggies a day...at least not in America. So limiting carbs may encourage some to meet that limit with more filling foods. At least that was the experience for me. I'd rather have a ginormous salad with lots of toppings and…
  • I would discuss this with your doctor but it would be of major concern to me as low carb diets flush fluids fairly rapidly and require sodium to replenish electrolytes.
  • I can wear my wedding ring again...It's been over 5 years since I've worn it.

  • I'm always confused when I see posts like this that imply keto restricts veggies. I eat more veggies now than I ever did before and I have become more creative in the types of veggies I eat. I limit starchy veggies, yes, but they aren't out of the equation...nor is fruit as long as it fits in my day. How is this different…
  • Honestly I didn't even read it...but I've seen people here bash keto unfairly. They call it a fad diet, claim we eliminate an entire macro section, or say they could never do without veggies and fruit...i don't know about you guys, but I eat WAY more veggies now than ever before...and I've gotten pretty inventive with my…
  • IF has some great benefits at the cellular level (autophagy). There's evidence to suggest that our circadian clocks help dictate the efficiency of our organs and metabolism. There's a great podcast and YouTube video by Rhonda patrick interviewing satchin panda about thus whole thing. Keto tends to work well for IF in that…
  • Usually if the late timing is due to stress it would have happened early on in the month during your follicular phase (i.e. before you release the egg). Stress can impact the timing of the release of the egg. Stress following the release, in the luteal phase, is unlikely to impact timing.
  • I get them so bad when I use a treadmill and they are also problematic if I try running outside (but not as bad). I ended up finding other exercise replacements because I couldn't handle it. Obviously I am not made for running lol. Elliptical works well though!
  • I add generous helpings of salt and never had/have any issues with keto flu. I do urinate more frequently, but I seem to be doing well staying hydrated. I am aware keto is diuretic and am doing it to help reduce inflammation in my joints as I have arthritis and cannot medicate while breastfeeding. I don't have Facebook,…
