  • I developed psoriatic arthritis after I had him and I can't be medicated while I'm breastfeeding. Keto was suggested to help reduce the inflammation and so far it's really been improving my back pain (although I still struggle some with my hands). I'm eating at maintenance so as so not hurt supply and I'm at the high end…
  • We just started this a few weeks ago. My biggest tip, keep it simple. Doing too many weird things just takes way too much time. I like variety but I stick to simplicity with small changes. For example, I eat salad 3 to 4 times a week for lunch but vary the meat from steak to chicken to salmon etc. I also bought a pack of…
  • I didn't see the need for rice cereals as filling him up with something other than breastmilk wasn't going to help my supply any nor provide the same amount of nutrition. We just started him on baby led weaning to solids (I fudged and started a couple weeks early) as he is showing signs of being ready for real foods. I…
  • Weighing in. Annoyed with myself as my lowest weight this week was actually 221lbs, but Friday I decided to have a nice dinner out with the hubby and indulged in enough bread rolls for probably 6 people. Felt miserable the rest of the night (soooo bloated and gross) and now I'm paying for it in water weight gain. Must now…
  • He's 5 and half months old. I kind of went headfirst into keto when he was 4 months old and suffered a small supply drop during the transition, but it went back up shortly after. Looking back, it probably would have been a better idea to transition slower, but alas, hindsight is 20/20. As it stands, things are working…
  • Keto hasn't been about cutting out all my carbs as some mentioned here. I still eat carbs, but sugary things and processed junk food have way too many to be beneficial. The only real restriction is choosing where to get those carbs. For me, just modifying diet was never enough. I love veggies, but if I have an option of…
  • I started it and I'm on my 4th week as I have psoriatic arthritis and it really helps with inflammation. As a breadaholic, I can say it was a tough transition, but has been beneficial. I still count calories as it's always going to be CICO, but this switch has done several things for me that I find very sustainable in the…
  • Weighing in! Not down much this week. I'm guessing I'm close to done with water weight loss. SW 249.9 GW 130.0 12/31: 227.0 1/7: 223.8 1/14: 223.4
  • ALL the bread. Dinner rolls, sandwich bread, baguettes, muffins, toast, etc. I also miss fries and onion rings. However, I don't miss pizza as I found an excellent recipe for it that fits within my macros well.
  • I'd say I've definitely improved my nutrition by going keto in that I get way more micronutrients than I used to, within my calorie limits. I find myself eating more veggies and healthy fats/proteins than when I crammed my face with bread and French fries. I believe the food pyramid to be unbalanced...which is what I've…
  • I'm on keto but with the higher end of 50g per day. I'm doing total carbs, not net carbs. I'll likely lower this once I stop breastfeeding.
  • Big Mac salad, egg roll in a Bowl, fathead pizza, and I'm a bit crazy but I love me some broccoli with butter.
  • I'll have to try that one. I'm using fathead pizza dough, modified for rolls, at the moment...and it's wonderful. I've never had a diet food taste so good, or so like the real thing, lol.
  • Carbs make me an eating machine and it's so sad because I absolutely LOVE them. I've found a good spot for now at 50g per day total carbs, moderate proteins, and lots of fat. Fat seems to be the biggest contributor to feeling satiated, for me at least. It's trial and error. Play around with your macros until you hit a…
  • https://www.wholesomeyum.com/recipes/low-carb-granola-cereal-paleo-gluten-free-sugar-free/ I LOVE this recipe. It's so freaking yummy. I've looked for other cereal recipes but everyone seems to think coconut is required and I don't like coconut...So it was hard to find one without it.
  • Funny I just asked this on another forum. I have been doing bacon and avocado lettuce wraps, but just found a recipe for keto granola cereal that's freaking delicious. It's higher in calories as it's all nuts and seeds, but I find it totally worth it, lol. I also tried a lemon poppyseed muffin that's low carb. Also yummy.…
  • Thanks you all for your input. I've tried a few different ideas and have found my new go to for cereal: half and half diluted with water and this bomb *kitten* keto granola cereal. It's an awful lot of calories, but is super filling! I also made dome lemon poppyseed muffins that are low carb for on the go breakfast. Thanks…
  • Thank you! I'm a bread lover and going keto has been so difficult for me, but it's been very helpful for my arthritis so I'm sticking to it!

  • I tried phentermine once a long time ago. It worked. I lost 22 lbs in 1 month....because it's a legal amphetamine and I basically wasn't eating. That scared me enough to stop taking it.
  • Okay so I didn't know what the heck ripple was and after some reading, went to buy some to try it out. It is definitely the most like milk when talking viscosity and texture, but man does it have a planty aftertaste. I've decided to jump on the half and half train, lol. Thanks for all the help and ideas though!
  • Definitely going less now that I'm doing keto. My go to is unsweetened teas, mainly green tea, hot or iced depending on mood. Some days I do miss my delicious chai lattes, though.
  • I'm eating at maintenance and still losing weight. I found that eating at even a slight deficit really impacted my supply.
  • Once when I was a kid, we were having pizza for dinner and I felt like eating something different so I told my mother I didn't like pizza. That didn't work lol. I think kids are picky for lots of reasons, but I don't think they truly hate as many foods as they think they do. My rule will be (my first kid isn't eating…
  • I don't do soda simply because it is so easy for me to drink my way to calorie overload. I removed it from my diet years ago and slowly let it creep back in over the last 2 years...but now I've kicked it out again in favor of water and tea. I have difficulty meeting water requirements as I'm just not thirsty enough, so…
  • I'm logging for now as I am new to keto, but I will likely stop once I get a good feel for how to eat and hit my macros correctly. I seem to be naturally eating at deficit for now and I'd love to say I'll always track, but that's never lasted in the past.
  • I did not know such a thing existed. I will look into this. Thanks!
  • Definitely going to try this. I've found HC to leave a film in my mouth in the past that I'm hoping will be absent once I dilute it. Thanks for the input!
  • Awesome resource. Thank you! You have any ideas for replacing coconut?
  • We've tried both cashew and almond milk and I find them woefully lacking. I will try the half and half though. I didn't think of that. So far, I've opted for lunch items such as broccoli and chicken or bacon, avocado, and lettuce, but sometimes it's hard to stomach such rich lunch foods so early in the morning.
