A co-worker wrote a note on my desk that read, "when you want to quit remember why you started". Just have to keep that in mind!

I went on iTunes and found an album of drill instructors "singing" motivational cadences. Helps on those long tread mill runs!

Challenge accepted. Now if I can stay sober AND not binge eat on T-Day I'll have a solid month! Away with you pumpkin pie. No extra stuffing Grandma. Uncle Carl is annoying I need a drink. Hmmm... this is going to be tougher than I thought.

11 months and 14 days for me! You can do it. Tonight being Halloween I'm sure I'll be making up for it with candy. That's a habit I picked up when I stopped using.

My house is divided. Good healthy stuff on my side; bad yet wonderfully delicious snacks and sweets on my wife’s side. Talk about willpower! Do I grab some raw broccoli or join my wife in finishing off the remaining M&M’s from the candy jar? Does that make her an evil, evil person? Yes!

I too was a chip addict. Doritos, cool ranch was my fix. I now carry a small bag of pretzel sticks with me and keep a bag at my desk. The lightly salted ones are not bad tasting either. For a dip I use plain yellow mustard. It is a great alternative.

I leave and come back. I get tired of tracking all my food. But I end up seeing the weight gain. I wish this app came with a shock collar so it would make me log all my meals daily.

Trying to get my bikini body back in time for the beach. Also trying to stop eating sweets. So far neither is happening!

At the start of the week I have a glass bowl in the refrigerator at eye level containing raw broccoli, radishes, mushrooms and carrots. When I get that bored but not really hungry temptation I snack on a handful from the bowl. It helps! For the pantry I have a similar setup but with dry roasted mixed nuts. These two…

I'm totally addicted to sugar. I'll eat an entire bag of candy then go out for a Blizzard. Who does that?

Great suggestions! Thank you for that last line I was about to go to town on some peanut butter. Moderation is key!

Thanks for the responses!

Stevia as I drink several cups a day. A bit of honey works if the alternative stuff freaks you out. As with anything moderation is key. I just can’t stand the taste of black coffee.

White rum over the rocks with fresh lime was my go to. Now H2O only. Drinking would undo all the weeks worth of work.

Music! Something has to drown out the Fox News that gets blasted in the gym.

Morrisville/Cary area. Finally some decent weather to get some exercise outside!

I had a trainer write on my wall at work... "When you feel like quitting remember why you started." Without that visual reminder I will more than happily help myself to bad snacks around me.

20 lbs of fat, zero muscle loss. Seems impossible.

I added mine as a snack since there isn't a catogery for alchol. For say a rum and coke, I'd find the calories in the brand of rum and for the soda. You will be amazed at how many calories you drink!

I've lost family and friends. The weight loss that comes from the emotional toll would be great under different circumstances. The only way to heal is over time. That and gym, gym, and more gym. The routine of working out helps pass that time. It will get better!
