I have missed workouts because I’d get to the gym and realized I forgot my headphones and when I see people training in silence I automatically assume they dismember stuffed animals in their spare time. My gym playlist is on the heavier side (Slayer, Lamb of God, etc) and my conditioning playlist is mostly upbeat punk

I’m in goal limbo right now. Up until a few months ago my goal was to just keep lifting heavier but I had an injury that set me back so now I’m just trying to get as healthy as I can and focused on stretching/mobility drills and dropping my fat percentage

I found basing my calories off of my TDEE gave me a really good baseline to work off of. If you google TDEE there’s a calculator that usually pops up first. It basically tells you based off your age, height and weight how many calories you need to exist every day. I also started the vertical diet which may not be for…

I just really enjoy pushing myself and watching the changes occur but ultimately just want to be healthy

Thank ya. It’s been a long three months but I’m back to having my macros dialed in

Feel free to add me. I’m 46 and refuse to act older than 13. I’m finally back under the bar after dealing with a torn calf

Today was 5/3/1 bench followed up with some close grip bench, arms, abs and for the grand finale I did some tire flipping which really made me question my sanity
-
I’ve had a lot of success using 5/3/1. It takes a little tweaking depending on your goals. I’d suggest getting the 5/3/1 Forever book and choosing which template suits your needs

I have a power rack with a bench, blast straps, trap bar, kettlebell, landmine, bands, dumbbells, prowler, sled and bands. I’d really like to invest in a dip attachment
-
I would def recommend getting yourself a kettlebell. There’s a lot of full body movements you can do with them

Well because sometimes I feel like I’m gonna snap

@saundraxo Without knowing your physical abilities I’d say start with a ten pound one and just work on form and getting to moves down fluidly. A fun but intense move is the Turkish get up. You could even practice that with a soup can

It’s along the lines of a dumbbell with a handle. You can do a million different things with them. Makes it very easy to get a full body workout in a space the size of a yoga mat

If your calories are based on your tdee you want to be sure you’re eating enough to build muscle. You might wanna swap the scale for a tape and track progress that way
-
I’m pushing 46 in 8 days. Took a couple years off from training but am finally back at it. Feel free to add me

Grab a kettlebell and start swinging

You might wanna check out Joe Defranco’s Limber 11routine. It’s about 20 min of stretching/mobility moves. He’s crazy knowledgeable

If your goal is weight loss I’d maybe skip the elliptical and get a few kettlebells. There’s a plethora of things you can do with just one kettlebell and it doesn’t have to be a heavy one for it to work
