  • My answer six months ago would have been different but I am starting to do "cheat days" now. I didn't, and I certainly wouldn't (even now) make a whole day of it. It's more cheat meals than anything else. Before if I had a cheat meal, I would workout to make up for it. Very, very rarely would I net way over my goal for the…
  • Everytime I try to restrict myself from sweets, I end up craving an entire bakery!! :) I usually have fruit during the day and a low calorie ice cream bar (Weight Watchers, Skinny Cow, etc) after dinner...not every night of course. That seems to help.
  • I tried increasing my calories in the last week to 1300 - 1400 (mostly 1400) and it worked. I lost the two pounds I had gained and stayed at! Hopefully I continue to lose next week!
  • I've hit one too! For 38 weeks I didn't gain one single pound....and I lost 39lbs. Then two weeks ago I gained two pounds, and it's stayed the same this week. I only have 13lbs to go (though it was 11, womp). So many people have said increase your calories...I had mine set at 1200. So that's what I plan to do, along with…
  • I'm 5'...started at 165, goal is 115. I'm currently 128. It's getting a little more difficult now that I'm getting closer to my goal! Feel free to add me, I could always use more motivating friends, especially ones with similiar goals!
  • Wow! You are awesome, you look so great! Congrats!!! Such an achievement! And Happy Birthday!!!!!! You definitely have something to celebrate!
  • I wouldn't pay for an expensive 5k if you're not at least getting a shirt! I've only done two, one was the color run and it was $45 and you got the shirt and it went to a cause...and my 2nd one was a 5k and it was $25 and you got a shirt and snacks. I'm doing the warrior dash in May and it was $45 and I get the shirt,…
  • I haven't eaten this in yearsss but french fries dipped in a Wendy's frosty!! haha...just the mention of it makes me want to eat a salad. I would only dip a few in, but yum.
  • I'm 5' as well and my goal is 115. But it's been awhile since I've been that weight....I only have around 15lbs left and it feels like I could stand to lose a lot more, but I'm going to try to do some toning because I still think 115 is a good weight for me. SW: 165 CW: 130.5 GW: 115
  • -String cheese -Sugar free jello -Clementines -Baby carrots -Celery with peanut butter -100 cal pack -Cucumber slices -Bananas -Apples Depending on the season and prices I usually have a fruit for my AM snack and a veggie for my afternoon snack. I'm really missing summer fruits right now, that makes snacking so much…
  • I have it on the Wii, but I'm sure they're all pretty similiar. I started with it on the Wii but now I go to live classes....I love it so much! And I'm still not perfect, but it's fun and burns a lot of calories.
  • Yes! Well, 18 pounds! Really hoping to be there by summer......I was hoping for the end of April, but it might be more like May! We'll see! I've been doing this for a little over 6 months and I'm 32lbs down, so it's been about 5lbs a month. So unless I hit a plateau (which is possible)...I should be there by May! 4' 11 .5"…
  • You should definitely get a HRM, it makes such a difference! I usually burn 200 - 300 something. I started burning less the more I was doing one level, so since you are on day seven, you are probably starting to burn less because it's getting easier. When I started level two, I started burning 300 something again.
  • HRM is the most accurate. But there is that site that you can calculate based on your weight/time/intensity. Zumba class - do high intensity. Zumba wii - do low intensity. I go to Zumba classes once - twice a week and I burn anywhere from 700-900 in a 60minute class. Last week I burned 1,018!! When I was using that site…
  • Chest straps are not uncomfortable, I barely notice mine on. You can easily pause and start again. Chest straps are far more accurate. I use a pink Timex zone trainer. It works well and I've had it since September and I've continued to lose weight. MFP underestimates calories burned by a lot. It's easy to use, I love…
  • I had something similiar this summer. I stopped running for about 4 weeks to let it heal but I think my biggest problem I really needed new running shoes and I was not stretching after running. After the 4 weeks when it wasn't hurting anymore, I went back to running with my new shoes and always stretched afterwards. I…
  • This is what I used before I had a HRM. And you have to create your own exercise, silly that it's not in the database but oh well. That site told me high intensity was 600+ and medium intensity was upper 500's. So after every Zumba class I use to log just 600, as a middle between the two. But now that I have a HRM I know…
  • I don't usually have cheat days, usually just cheat meals for special occasions (work parties, birthdays, family get togethers, etc.). Otherwise I stick to my calorie goal. If I do want something a little more unhealthy, I work out that day. And even on the special occasions, I really try to work out some, even if I still…
  • Yep! I have 19lbs left to lose! Started with 50 but I'm getting there! :) Feel free to add me if you'd like!
  • I'm 4' 11.5" :) SW: 165 CW: 134 GW: 115 I could always use more friends!!
  • It kind of makes me a little giddy that I can respond to this one! I had 50lbs to lose but I've lost 31, so only 19lbs to go! My CW is 134, I want to get to 115. I eat around 1200+ calories a day and exercise about 3-4 times a week. The more friends, the better....feel free to add me! :)
  • 3lbs in 6 days is a lot! This is a life change and it's not a race...you'll get there! Just keep working towards it and it'll happen. I had 50lbs to lose, I've been at this for 6 months and have lost 31lbs...19lbs to go! Sometimes waiting is frustrating but trust that you are doing the right thing for your body and more…
  • I used WW a little over two years ago and lost weight fast but gained it all back. I like MFP much better for these reasons: 1. It's FREE 2. I think the food database is much bigger 3. The community here is awesome 4. For me, it's encouraged me to work out more. I did not work out doing WW. When I first started, seeing all…
  • My goal is also 1200 and I used to eat every single calorie back when I worked out but now I just do it only if I'm hungry. Sometimes I am hungry, sometimes I'm not. It was just ridiculous to me to try and eat just to eat all of my calories back when I wasn't even hungry. I used to just randomly have a soda with my dinner…
  • I did it this past September in DC...sooo fun! You don't need a mouth covering, just remember to close your mouth when you run through it! I wore sunglasses so I didn't need to worry about my eyes. I also bought a little $5 sack pack the day before when I picked up my race info. I got it to carry my things in while I was…
  • Eat a little later than you normally would. Normally I get home at 4:50 and start dinner right away, but last night I didn't start until 5:45. Then you're eating just a little later, and then once you are starting to get that snacky feeling, either have healthy snacks around or drink tea! That helps me feel more full.
  • I always eat multigrain cheerios, it's filling, and it fits in my calorie goal.
  • Yes with a combination of other things of course. Zumba burns the most calories over anything else that I do...and it's fun!
  • The will power feels so good! Yay for you! I also love donuts, I used to go get a coffee coolata from Dunkin Donuts and then get two donuts (so much calories and it wouldn't even fill me up!)....I haven't had a donut in 6 months (well I guess I caved and had one munchkin at work). Just one tiny little munchkin in 6 months…
