  • I'll eat 100-200 back if I'm really hungry, but usually I don't feel like I need them (5'2", 121lbs). I feel like I've got my 1200 calories pretty much dialed in nutrient wise for me.
  • That's a good question. I'm not really sure why it's always appealed to me. I guess I've always been drawn to professions where I feel like I'm doing some small amount good for a person, where I can be creative, flexible, and innovative, not returning to the same office/desk all day, every day is nice. I like the one on…
  • 5'2" also on 1200 a day. High weight was 158, down to 123 now. Anyone can feel free to add me.
  • My highest weight was 158. I'm down to 123. 118 is my current goal weight and I'll reevaluate when I get there.
  • I have to pre portion everything on my plate or I will overeat every time. But then it's okay that I finish my plate. The problem comes when my boyfriend doesn't finish his plate and I get the urge to start eating off of it. Instead everything goes into the fridge for the next day's lunch.
  • 5'2" and currently 123. My goal right now is 118 and I may decide to go a few pounds lower once I get there.
  • This makes me think of the episode of Rick and Morty where the devil opens up a shop where everything is free and they seem too good to be true, but then the items curse the people who take them (and I know this is based on other older stories). The devil always tells them, "you don't pay with money". Just think of all the…
  • Nope, I don't use food as a reward or consider going over on my calories to be cheating. Small things like ice cream, burgers, etc I just fit into my 1200. Other times I know I will probably go over - like my birthday, thanksgiving, and sometimes dates with my boyfriend. That's just life. Eating this way - fitting…
  • I always recommend someone who is brand new to anime check out some of the great movies out there. Pretty much anything by Hayao Miyazaki and Summer Wars are great staring points, especially from an art standpoint. As far as series, I'd say it depends on what genre of TV show/what kind of story you typically like. There…
  • I thought I would get bored of mine after 2 weeks but it's 2 months later and I'm still wearin it and checking the data most days.
  • When I first started working out and eating less I started spotting for a few days, then things normalized. Stress, diet, exercise, and major life events can all screw with the timing of your period. It's usually not a big deal.
  • Hey I'm down in the southeast (NC) too =] I've lost over 20 pounds since the end of March through calorie counting and staying lightly active. Having MFP friends to share struggles and successes with definitely adds a lot of motivation. Feel free to add me.
  • I liked them when I was a member. I quit because I never actually felt like driving there and was going less and less frequently. If there was one 100 feet from my house I would totally join again, even if just to walk on a treadmill in the air conditioning and watch Netflix.
  • The smaller you are, there's often less of a deficit you can have. My TDEE is just about 1600. I don't want to go below 1200 so that leaves me a very small deficit available. I have to count on light activity to get me those extra hundred calories a day to get a pound a week of weight loss.
  • It's all about logging calories and eating less than you burn. Are you logging everything and using a food scale?
  • Keep in mind as rabbitjb said, it's based on height, weight, age, etc. I've been eating at 1200 since the end of March. For me (5'2", started around 150 and down to 123, lightly active) it has been sustainable, effective, and I've never felt like I was starving. But it definitely doesn't work for everyone.
  • So to add to what I wrote 6 weeks ago, I reached my initial goal weight of 125 and need to decide now what my next goal should be. I think it really is just a guessing game. At 148 I had no idea what 125 would look like on me. Now that I'm at 125 I see I still need to be a few more pounds down. I'm thinking I'll shoot for…
  • Ouch, @genki90 shot down for posting a valid concern in a public, interactive forum.
  • Cream of Zucchini soup I probably make this cream of zucchini soup at least once a week. I love it. Zucchini Fritters Also freaking delicious. Parmesan Zucchini and Corn And finally some parmesan zucchini and corn.
  • This. Red Stag is my personal preference of whiskey lately.
  • I'm just a hair under 5'2". Personally I love being short EXCEPT for how little I can eat and not gain weight. I'm learning to be really comfortable though on 1200-1400 calories and have dropped from around 150 to 126 since the end of March. I've got around 5-10 lbs to go (I think) and love having friends on MFP who post…
  • Raleigh represent!
  • I've gotten to the point where it only takes me around 5 minutes a day to log anyway, so it's not really a big deal for me to continue on the weekends.
  • I'm 5'2" and started around 150 in April. I'm down to 126 now and trying to get down to at least 120. Anyone can feel free to add me =]
  • Darn, it got me lol.
  • Because I count calories and measure out all the food on my plate, I'm perfectly fine cleaning my plate. If I wasn't going to though, I think I would rather save food for leftovers than throw it out. I'm not going to force myself to overeat, but I'm not personally okay with being wasteful either.
  • I'm lilidawn on reddit. I've used MFP off and on over the years and never really was successful because I didn't track very well and thought the fitness aspect was more important as long as I wasn't eating cookies and cake all the time. This time around I'm finding a lot of success. I'm tracking my calories daily and with…
  • This is more likely nurture, not nature. Fatness will look like it runs in families because they are passing down eating habits from one generation to the next. It's all calories in vs calories out. My fattest friend has been fat since he was a little boy. It'd be easy to say that's just his genetics at work and he's…
  • I would count it anyway. By the time you started puking, the calories from the Taco Bell and beer were most likely already absorbed (or whatever the correct physiological term) into your body. When I work with girls who have eating disorders, we have them wait at least an hour to go to the bathroom after eating because…
