I am doing Slimming World, but going to group, as well as using MFP intermittently, I have several conditions including Under-active Thyroid, PCOS and Type 2 Diabetes. The Thyroid being under active, if treated, can not be used as a reason because the medication brings levels up to normal

i agree with all you have said, having said that and as a diabetic with not only fat around the tummy area it is in between the organs too, I will follow a diabetic dietitians advice and so far it is working as the fat IS coming off
-
Hi, as I have been to a dietitian for advice as I have tummy fat, both surrounding and inside, the dietitian has said to reduce wheat based carbs, IE 1 slice of bread at breakfast or high fibre cereal or 2 slices of bread at lunchtime. Also I have been told to reduce fats heavily, IE 1 tsp of fat at lunch or dinner and use…

I'm an online mfp member and go to SW group which includes a limited online access, fiend me too if you like.

@Caroledeegee Well done on your weight loss I started SW but using a group, it helps seeing and hearing other members going through the same sort of ups and downs as I am, but that's what works for me. I too lost 4.5 lbs in my first week, but as a diabetic I am also logging food in here as I have been given a 1500 calorie…
-
WOW, all I can do is emphasis what the others have already said and what a difference you have made to yourself. Whatever it is you are doing, keep it up as it obviously works!
-
if you are going to do online, cant you just use mfp?

I have had homeopathy treatment before with a lady who used to be a nurse and if she felt "science" was the way to go she would say so and was excellent I would not rule out homeopathy, BUT this one is a definite quack!

Hi, I am in my 50's and was diagnosed with Hypothyroidism when I was very young and always had problems with weight! Anyway, I have just found a site that may help, it has bite size but informative information. http://www.everydayhealth.com/hs/thyroid-pictures/foods-to-eat/

Sounds like you have some great suggestions there for trying to help ease the pain, hope you find something that works for you x
-
Sunds like you know what you are doing going t the dr sounds like the right thing from what you are saying, after all they know so much more than us, or at least should do. I wish you the very best in getting out of pain.
-
So well done on your weight loss. Shows you are getting something right! But if you are fluctuating between two weights it sounds like you are at a plateau. This WILL pass I keep getting stuck for a while and then it starts to shift again. I am however worried that you exercise to a point where you can hardly walk the next…

I can answer about the Carbs bit with what I have leaned lately, I have PCOS and Diabetes and have to keep my carbs low. The dietitian I have been seeing has said that we are allowed them, just in small amounts, The ones to watch out for are Potatoes, Bread, Pasta, Rice, Breakfast Cereals. There are carbs in other things…

@Mirelle242 Hey I'm using WW and I wouldn't be losing without them! The successful part of ww to me is the community and accountability. Lord knows I needed that. But the mixture between WW and mfp has been helping me tremendously @Mirelle242 Many thanks for your reply, sorry I didnt respond before. My mind is made up now.…

Well done on your fantastic weight loss, you CAN do it and you are already proving that to yourself. I was over 21 stone and lost, got down to just under 16 stone, stupid me took my eye off the ball and went back up to 17st 1lb, but it IS coming off :D so keep on going and learn by your earlier mistakes so you don't go…

Food is a related thing, for which we all differ, but I was told that tomatoes, mushrooms which are a fungi and all citric acids were my triggers. Citric acid can be found in the obvious like oranges, lemons and limes, but also all currant and berry fruits, but not pineapple like many think, it is a different kind of acid.…

@CyberTone thank you for a very quick response x

@Mirelle242 thank you for your response, really helpful. Just wondering, as @indyjune has already asked and sorry if I am repeating, but Can anyone tell me how to display the points system weight watchers uses in MFP?
