I'm an RN. It is so hard to stay healthy while working in the medical field, but it can be done. Good luck to you!!

I work 12-14 hour work days and CAN'T get up before work to exercise but I schedule it in my planner and workout after work. You have to find something you like to do so its not torture. I do TurboFire and love it. It's a good cardio workout and it goes by so fast. There's no magic answer, you just have to force yourself…

Feel free to add me. I know that feeling. I had about 140 to lose when I started and I've lost about 90 so far. It definitely hasn't been fast or a perfect loss but I'm always open to being there for others going through the same thing!

All awesome suggestions, thanks everyone!!

I'll add that one to my "do not listen" list ;)

Have fun!!!

See your doctor before you start an exercise program!!!!! Be sure you tell them how active you're going to be and exercises you're planning to do. Asthma is definitely something you can control and be active but make sure you have safety measures in place before exercising!

I'm a nurse too working 12 hr swing shifts. There's no trick beyond finding something you like. I've been doing TurboFire and I love it. I do it daily even on work days. It's just a lot of willpower until it becomes habit.

I use the women's vitapak from GNC. They're somewhat expensive but they often have BOGO. I haven't noticed am any help in weight loss but it helps supplement my diet. And my skin has improved. I'm assuming for people who don't swing shifts it may help with energy.

Thanks so much everyone!!

I know you said that you see a doctor there, but were you recommend to this by your doctor or does the doctor who recommended it to you work at the weight loss center? If the only doctor who told you this is a good idea is one who is profiting from you, you may want to get a second opinion from another source.

Hey! Welcome. I'm Alyx, nice to meet you!!

I didn't like it at all. I think that the workouts go sooooo slowly. I much prefer TurboFire or Jillian's Yoga Meltdown. It is a good workout and a good program though.

I do. I have a polar heart rate monitor that transmits to a watch. I find when I don't monitor my HR I tend to slack a little bit. Be wary of any wrist heart rate monitors without a chest strap, their accuracy is widely disputed.
