  • Bring back the NewsFeed - many of us enjoyed the posts from our 'friends' and not having to join many many groups. MFP, I think you've underestimated how many of your users actually read the newsfeed and enjoyed it.
  • Totally speechless... I enjoyed the NewsFeed as it provided updates on my friends, I don't want a whole community or to have to create a group and invite all my friends. Is there a 'bring it back' request logged with MFP?
  • New dashboard arrive... excitement changed to what a piece of poop! I've got an iPhone 11 running iOS 15.5 and the dashboard is totally unresponsive. Yet, my partner has an iPhone 10 running the same iOS and it works fine. Can't be bothered with it! Seriously considering dumping premium and going to chronometer for a…
  • You need to be careful... you could be anorexic! That was when I was still 6-7kg from being an 'average' weight.
  • Took 3yrs to get there.... been maintaining since 2018 and sit around 54-57kg. There are no short-cuts and eating at maintenance still requires tracking, but not all the time. More about mindfulness and moderation these days, with a big dollop of exercise.
  • 2014 vs 2018.... 2020 edition would be the same as 2018. I've managed to keep off the 40+kg I lost over a four year period.
  • Keto for 5 years plus and healthy as f***. Loosing weight is about 'calorie deficit' - you could eat rubbish all day as long as you maintained a calorie deficit - but you'd you be healthy? The benefit of a ketogenic diet is the body switches from relying on glycogen for fuel to relying on ketones. An added benefit of a…
  • It's simple...... log everything that you consume! Making exceptions leads to more exceptions and dilutes achieving goals.
  • 5 years... from 97.5kg to 53.5kg. The journey is infinite.
  • Personally.... I ignore exercise calories as the science of calculating them is highly inaccurate.
  • An observation... keto isn't a diet. A diet suggests a short-term activity for immediate gain. Keto is about making life changes, building new habits, educating yourself about what you're eating and understanding what triggers over indulgence.
  • I've been keto for about 4 years... my diary is publicly open and I'll try to be better at logging my eating. In terms of keto please be aware that there are two types... nutritional and therapeutic. If you have ailments such as diabetes, thyroid, cancer, alzheimer's then therapeutic is probably the best option - this is…
  • You can add fibre under the food & diary settings so the column shows, then just deduct it from the carb total.. if you're a premium member. Don't think you can do it using the free version.

  • The scale isn't the only measure. Sometimes we don't lose weight but lose inches, so it does pay to also keep a track of the basic chest, waist, hips, arms and legs measurements. From experience after dropping over 100lbs... weight loss isn't linear. There will be periods where nothing happens as the body catches on to…
  • I've lost 45kg.... and I get asked. My answer is I changed my eating lifestyle, started weighing, tracking and paying attention to what I eat, adequate exercise... day after day. The truth of the matter is that people are looking for a quick fix - a pill or potion, something magical that requires no effort on their part…
  • Four years ago... started out with Atkins and keto is my lifestyle. New habits take time to build, it doesn't happen overnight.. and diets don't work primarily as folks go back to their prior way of eating. I weighed 217lbs when I started and that may not have been my heaviest! Now I'm 115lb and holding at that since mid…

  • No longer fat... but when I was the reason was very simple: Ate too much!
  • I solved this problem by.... not getting in the car to drive to the shops, I now walk. In fact, over time I walk mostly everywhere and factor that into my daily routine. I started out at 3500 steps, then 5000 steps, then 7500, up to 10k and now 15k. That's taken a year to transition to. With a little one it probably means…
  • I have bones.... that freaked me out. Having a shower and I thought what the hell is that boney lump below my boobs. Turns out it was my sternum! Similar thing lately.. turned over in bed and pulled my pj top down and could feel ribs. I think I had bones when I was a kid, but that was like 45+ years ago.
  • Cheat... such a negative word. I prefer to think of things as 'treats' for my hard work.. a reward that I've earned, that I savour.
  • Both... gym in a morning, crossfit evening or sometimes morning, swim either/or... no rhythm to it just whatever fits with my day. However... I find that do a swim first thing is more of an effort - seems to be easier later in the day.
  • 5'2"... 115lbs and holding since Jun-17. I swim 2-3 times a week, CrossFit 3x a week and get in 15k steps a day. My maintenance calories are supposedly 1600 - but at that the weight goes on! I've adjusted that and aim for 1200 in my tracking, but know that there's tolerance in there so it probably ends up at 1400 after…
  • Losing fat and losing weight are two different things! Example: I'm female, 56 y/o, 5'2 and stable at 115lbs. My goal is fat loss while maintaining current weight. Since October my body fat % has reduced by 2% and I look a lot leaner - people ask if I've lost more weight. How? I now swim 2-3 times a week regularly and…
  • cauliflower... I've made cauliflower garlic bread, cauliflower rice pudding, fried cauliflower rice... it seems the versatility is endless :-P
  • Zucchini noodles, bacon wrapped chicken and mushroom... yum yum in my tum :-P
  • January Step Challenge. Daily goal: 15,000 January 1: 8,274 :-1: January 2: 5,250 :-1: January 3: 17,544 January 4: 11,853 :-1: January 5: 20,112 January 6: 18,157 January 7: 11,898 January 8: 18,782 January 9: 15,741 January 10: 16,464 January 11: 16,564 January 12: 15,248 January 13: 13,358 :-1: January 14: 18,378…
  • Only way is probably to get a dexa scan done - costs $$ though I think.
  • keto for going on 4 years. Have lost 100lbs+... from 217lbs to 115lbs. It becomes the way you eat! I don't miss bread, potatoes, rice or all the cakes & biscuits. In fact I find that when I do have something like a slice of cake I can't stand the after taste in my mouth... like burnt sugar.
