cross training? jogging ? cross country running? × your time....

eggs are the best...cheap protein, filling, relatively low cal. if you're worried about dietary cholesterol don't eat the yolk.
-
here's what worked for me: get that junk food like bread pudding and ice cream out of the house!
-
my goals are to continue the diet/cardio/lifting thing I'm doing now without getting injured, hopefully I'll lose at least another 5 to 8 lbs by the end of the month and an inch or 2 off my waist :-)

My best wishes to you, your family and baby at this trying time.

I've lived in the Caribbean and while it would make for a sweet vacation, I wouldn't live there permanently. Mostly because there are less opportunities for the kids, the countries are typically poorer and less developed - few good schools and colleges except for 1 or 2 exceptions, I have no family there, I might get…

as long as I'm trying I can't be perfect

I am a bit proud but afraid to "rest on my laurels" or rebound
-
definitely more energy and less back pain, easier to get around also and working on improving my slouchy posture currently :-)

Hmmm I wonder if this will get read...just as an update...I've been doing MFP for about 3.5 months now and I'm down to 176 lbs this morning...BMI 26.6 body fat about 26%. I hope to reach 150 lbs before 2016 and hoping to have a waist less than 34 (maybe even less than 30) at the belly button (39 now at the belly button and…

I used to binge eat really bad when I tried decreasing my calorie intake too much (trying to go to 1200 calories from 3000). Now I find that setting small goals works for me. If you average 3000 calories now don't goto 1200, try 2000 or even 2500 instead.

also try bodyweight fitness. some exercises are very challenging like 1 legged squats, pistol squats, 1 armed pushups and 1 armed pllups, etc
-
get a quality power rack with goid safety bars so you don't kill yourself if you fail at a squat or bench rep :-)

10 weeks at the least I would say, 20 weeks is better though
-
works for me I used to love eating energy dense foods like cheese, pastries, etc. now I've significantly cut down on their intake

katem, it really depend what your goals are is it to improve your cardiovascular abilitues? run longer? run faster? just burn calories? 5-10km runs are typical for people who exercise casually like I am doing now. if you are planning to run a marathon or something, better to set goals

ATI I suggest taking small steps at a time. Establish a small rule for yourself (for example no chocolate candies after 9pm) and work from there, most likely small steps are easier to keep and gradually you can increase your goals. it's like exercise if you're a runner you won't start from running 26 miles your first day,…

you might see big weight changes in the beginning, but unfortunately it's not all fat loss, most people will lose muscle mass too and water weight. I suggest doing some at least moderate stength training like at least pushups, situps, squats, etc. generally they say it's easier to keep weight off if it was lost slowly. if…

thanks for the update

when I was in college and cycled like a lunatic I would have a quart of hagen dazs as desert for dinner... 1200 Calories right there (but quiet a bit of saturated fat though).
-
oh and no injuries along the way :-)
-
my dream: 28 inch waist, 5 minute mile, bench press 405, deadlift 660, 30 pullups in a row with good form, 20 planche pushups in a row...but these are veeeeeeerrryyyy long term goals for me

you gotta move out of the bear exhibit at the zoo ;-)

I'm about to doing weights regularly as a beginner thinking of the strong lifts beginner program. any advice?
-
in my experience I tended to binge when I tried to cut my calories to much. I tried to go from 3000 calories a day to 800. that doesn't work. reduce slowly if you are eating 3000 now try to cut maybe to 2000-2500 calories. log everything. don't underestimate the portion sizes, overestimate instead.

I LOVE GOOD BREAD. So I buy crappy wonder bread or similar so that I'm not tempted to eat more than 1 or 2 slices.
