I didn’t expect to sleep so much better, and that’s largely down to background pain in hips and knees just going away mostly. I also never expected an urge to run. I’ve always liked gentle exercise, yoga, swimming, walking. Last December I found myself spontaneously breaking into a little run, for the first time since I…

I ran in public, saw some people I knew, felt a bit embarrassed, but finished the 5k.

5’1” start weight 175, now about 130, aiming for 120. Lots of swimming and running, less cake, but not no cake. I am almost 11months into the journey.

Leggings were falling down when I was running. Loose leggings and running are both new things.

200. A nice roundy number. I’m less roundy, which is good.

I had to buy a summer dress in size 20(UK). I was glad I’d the self esteem to buy something that fitted but realised I’d really got to the point of no return, I’m 5’1”. I was hurting all the time, I couldn’t do anything easily. On the other hand I’d rediscovered the joy of swimming and that made me feel good in my body. I…

I weigh daily and use an app called Happy Scale which calculates a moving average. you get a graph and daily weighings can be above or below the line ( sometimes on) . I think of below line readings as pulling the line down, above line ( especially if there are three or four in a row above) as pulling it up. The daily…

Ive had a similar history. I think it happens because the motivation to lose goes. You have lost 10-20 lbs, you can see improvements, the need to change is no so urgent, so the backslide starts. I find if I don't track I gain 1-2 lbs a month, my idea of normal eating is in fact overeating. I'd say this is common with…

Eggs, milk, frozen veg and fruit, beans from dried, reduced to clear, shop in the market, bulk cook and freeze, spices and herbs.

Feingold also eliminates casein and gluten if I remember correctly. Pretty restrictive?

I have a three tier tiffin box from sostrene grene. I wish I had also bought the two tier one for shorter days. I have a tier at 10.30, 12.30 and 3. The first is usually my breakfast, oatmeal or rice with yogurt and fruit, or sometimes eggs, the second is dinner left overs or a freshly made salad, the last is my afternoon…

Hi everyone, very interesting to read about sleep solutions. We cannot get melatonin OTC here and I'm not sure about magnesium citrate. I will try to get for one of my kids ( adult) who has sleep issues. I'm back on track looking forward to losing again. Can anyone tell me if you can change your starting weight? I had a…

Dear chatty ladies, I cannot keep up but I will dip in when I can. I'm currently on holidays and doing one household job a day to try to declutter my environment. Today was light bulbs and fittings. Boy do my hips ache after going up and down the ladder. You don't have to go to the gym to get a workout. My calories have…

Dear Ladies, I'm still trying to find my feet here, getting all the names and situations mixed up! I had a nice day, went to a knitting event and won a prize. Dinner out which makes me a bit nervous but I had no fries, bowl of steamed vegetables instead with salmon. At the knitting there was so much cake. I just had a…

Hello all, I'm Louise from Ireland. I've been losing fifteen and gaining 20 for years but I feel in a good place now. I've been checking into MFP for 36 days and I have lost about 7 lbs. I'm very short so I lose very slowly. I'd be happy to weigh 40 less than I do now, but I could lose 50 and still not be super skinny. One…

I'm 5' 1.5", I plan on getting to 125 lbs, that's 30 lbs from here. I wouldn't be skinny at that but I could live with it I think. When you are short, the weight has so little places to go!
