  • Home-made burgers tonight, with cucumber salad, and pasta carbonara tomorrow. I got called into work yesterday so the hubby BBQed some sausage and peppers.
  • I find it helpful to not look at this as an all or nothing thing. Everyday doesn't have to be a diet. So if you have a day where you are hungry and eat more, it's just a day. This is round three for me. This time I'm going the slow and permanent route and not focusing on the scale as much as I am at changing habits and…
  • Hello. Welcome. I'm hoping this group is more active with a few of us back on here. What do you do for exercise?
  • Awesome job! I've got a couple of busy days ahead of me but still hoping I can get in my walks.
  • Nice to meet you and thanks for re-joining. I'll keep at it for a while to see if we can get more.
  • 2lbs is great! I enjoyed that initial loss that always happens when I start eating healthier. I know it's mostly bloat but I'll take it.
  • Into week 2 and evaluating my progress. I've noticed two things that I need to work on to help reach the above goal. The first is I need to get better at making some time in the afternoon for a healthy & filling snack because if I don't, my hunger level at dinner is at a 2, instead of the recommended level 4 and it becomes…
  • Glad to hear it. :) Other than my typo in the subject :#, I'm pretty good. Hoping for a productive day.
  • I've recently undergone some major changes that includes doing a few shifts a week where I'm not home until 11pm and have the same issue with over eating when I get home. I also can't goto sleep right away. How I'm handling it is just accepting that I will be hungry when I get home and planning out healthier options for…
  • I'd start with just making your own plan based on what you already eat. Then make adjustments from there. You could find you can reach your goals by eating the same things, just less, or subbing out a few ingredients with healthier choices.
  • Hello you two. :) I'm also looking for an active group so I'm going to do a couple of posts to see if we can get this going again. (Even if it is just a few of us at first. )
  • Hi Crystal. I'm also on my 3rd round here. Being part of a group was a huge help my first time around and I lost over 35lbs. This time I have 55 to get rid of. Hoping to get this group more active.
  • Changing "will" to "am" is a fantastic idea! Adding it to my toolkit. :)
  • Thank you. I am keeping track. So far it is going well. With the exception of yesterday, where I was really busy and made the mistake of allowing myself to get too hungry before dinner, I've been slowing down and eating less. Not sure I'm doing it at a seven yet but I am no longer eating until I'm so full I can't have…
  • Hello everyone. This is my first post here. I'm trying to focus on changing habits this time around so the changes stick with me after the weight is gone. Glad to have found this group. I'm still tracking and counting calories but my main focus will be on changing one thing at a time. I know this way may take longer but…
  • First of all, Congratulations on losing 45lbs. That's a great accomplishment and you should be proud of yourself for that. Are you familiar with the Hunger/Fullness scale? I've recently discovered it and think it's a great tool to help pause before eating and ask yourself if you are eating for hunger or for something else.…
  • I cook for my elderly father who is diabetic. Some of the things I have learned is Fiber is crucial Vegetables taste 100 X better if you roast them or grill them. He came from a time when they were always boiled. Small treats in moderation help prevent overindulgence Small portions and plenty of snacks work for him. Keep…

  • Thank you so much. I love podcasts and will definitely check those out. And 10 years keeping 60lbs off is a great accomplishment. You're an inspiration!
  • I don't think the intent was to make it sound like it was simple for people to change. I took it as saying I should be aware that if it isn't simple for me, other issues can be at play and I agree. Some people can stop snacking at night easily. My husband, for example, doesn't struggle with eating when he wants to shed…
  • I struggle with protein too. I'm going the Mediterranean route this time and the macros are only 15% protein which I find a lot easier to reach.
  • Thank you so much. You seemed to have had success in what I’m looking to do. Congratulations on making those changes! I’ll be checking out the book. Snacking is the first place I have to tackle. I have been back to logging and I’ say 80% of my extra calories comes from snacking, normally at night and normally not healthy.…
  • Thank you. You've pretty much explained exactly what I'm looking for. Baby steps that stick.
  • Congratulations on the 20lbs lost. Sounds like you are doing a great job. I'm also starting again. This place is really good for support.
  • Glad you fond this post Lisa. Please check your inbox. ☺
  • This week 163 Down another lb.
  • Oops posted in wrong place
  • That sounds really cool. I'm still up in the air. Which isn't good because I really need to commit and start getting the costumes ready. We had decided on Han and Leia from Star Wars but now we are going to a witches ball and the theme is magical creatures. So do I ditch our plans and come up with something for the theme…
  • I find I am eating simple. Can't do a lot of decadent cooking so it's been basically meat, veggies and a small serving of potatoes or rice or pasta. I do love to cook but the more complicated recipes are a pain in the behind to enter into MFP and have a lot of extra calories too.
  • If you have your activity level set for sedentary then I see no problem with logging it. Just be sure you log at the slow pace and be honest. If your dog spends half then time sniffing, only log 30 minutes. All logging does is give you an idea of how much energy you consume and how much you expend. Personally I have no…
