Boiled eggs and wholemeal toast, make it before work and take it with you.

I have 4 kids all born within 4yrs 8 mths !!! Yes, I didn't even think of fitness during that time so well done for even considering it, and yes I was a walking zombie during the children's younger years.

Apple with cheese and biscuit underneath always does it for me.

I have never boxed for real but I have a full size punch bag and gloves etc although I have never been trained in boxing (just watched YouTube) I have enjoyed it as workout. To me it revealed the body parts that needed working on to box in my beginners way. I felt I needed shoulder, neck and back strength. I had worked all…

I'm nearly 41. Your post made me reflect on my weight through the decades: 0-10 normal I guess, was never aware of my weight, I was slim though. 11-20 underweight, grew fast to 198cm and couldn't eat enough, enormous appetite, got comments like "Are you eating enough?". 20-30 Beer and an office job increased my weight…

I'm looking for active friend on a similar journey, read my profile and blog for more info, but in summary I'm a lapsed MFP member, over 2 years ago it helped me reach the peak of fitness and ideal weight. I stopped using MFP and my whole lifestyle changed. I started it all over again 9 weeks ago and it is working, so I'm…

Me too, I undid so much hard work in 18 months off MFP - I've add nearly 50lb in that time and hardly noticed it happening.
-
Routine was my key to success the first time I used MFP, always logged, always made a small amount of time for exercise, and don't underestimate the power of walking - I have a dog which helps with that one. Some people say when you do something about 21 times it becomes habit, do 21 days of logging and something different…

Hi, I'm part way through a 48lb journey.

Varies a lot, average somewhere in the middle: 500-1000 burn and eat 2000 - 3500 Helpful but not fully accurate, I'm using FitBit Surge with HRM, it is over estimating calorie burn by 25% by my reckoning.

One of the things I find useful is breaking the 50lb target down by month so it feels more manageable. If you want to loose a 1lb a week, then it's nearly a whole year until you get there, instead look at 4-5lb per month for the next year. Put the target weight on a calendar and just take one target at a time) It's all the…

Yes, you can write a blog or just add notes to the food or exercise sections.

Yes, I use the FitBit surge, have been using it since July and finding it quite useful. It needs some patience to get the best out of it. Sometimes it goes wrong, I once woke up having burned 2,800 calories overnight, couldn't work out why.

Yes, that's how I do it, 43x servings of 1g or whatever is correct for accuracy. I have no idea what a "cup" size is in England, as far as I know it is a bra measurement.

Me too, I did brilliantly with MFP 2 years ago, however life circumstances lead to me lapsing, but I'm back and here for good now.

Hi, I would like some like-minded friends on MFP. I am a returning member and I am versed in weight loss and diet from my previous stint on MFP. I am an active daily logger and update my blog as well. I use a FitBit Surge as well so would like some FitBit friends.

I have a treadmill and a Concept 2 rower and I do go with the recommendation above about looking into a rower for your money. I would also agree with the post suggesting you buy high quality ex-gym second hand rather than brand new, you will get a better machine for your money and they should still last just as long.…
