I am also not new, but started in October and was on a roll---then I came down with the flu along with my son--so between caring for him and myself and just feeling awful, I wasn't doing much to further my fitness. I have also broken my ankle a few times (the latest was a stress fracture from just doing too much too…

Old bad habits are easy to fall back into--especially when that's what you've done all your life. I also have 100+ to lose and don't know how I allowed my weight to get to this point . . . I also want to feel better---you hear how exercising helps you feel better / have more energy--but it is hard to do consistently when I…

I also have 100lbs to lose and could use some friends who are in the same situation

I totally agree! If you are thin, skinny jeans are fine--at my weight, they just emphasize my big butt....

Hi Courtney! I'm somewhat of a newbie (I started MyFitnessPal in October and haven't been consistent). I am 46 and live in a suburb of Chicago. I have been on my weight loss journey since 3rd grade (after a rude incident at school). I have been up and down--my highest being 300. I have steadily gained about 10 lbs or so a…

WOW!! Great information! Sometimes when I put my exercise in, MFP shows some huge amount of calories I've burned, which doesn't seem correct:)

Really interesting info

I agree--it's no fun to go up and down! Only recently did I learn that my parents didn't model taking care of their health and exercising--so it's a foreign thing to take the time out of my day to exercise...I was always hard on myself about making exercising a habit--but it makes sense that it is difficult because I…

Keep coming back to MyFitnessPal  you can do it!

I'm a big fan of Family Feud (Steve Harvey is a great host), so keep us posted! Did you see the SNL skit about Family Feud last Saturday night? It was super funny!!

I just moved from a house my husband, son, two dogs, & I had been in for 14 years---in June. (But prior to that we were donating to Good Will and putting books and furniture in storage to make our house look spacious so we could actually sell it). I finally decided to get moving with my health this month---as things are…

So I havent exercised in two days and today I didn't start logging my food until 8pm. I feel tired...started coughing and just feeling yucky. I decided to take my temperature and it's 101.2 so That would explain it...I hope going to bed early helps:) here's to a great week for everyone!

I hope everyone is doing well and moving forward

Hi everyone, I was just reading some of your posts and thought I should post something too. Well, I got my 9-year-old son (he is on the autism spectrum and verbal, but acts and talks more like a 4 or 5 year old) onto the bus and off to school after he was home for a couple days with a cold. He can be exhausting, but now I…

Glad you're here! I'm new too (I've been on here a week) and it has been real helpful to talk to people in the same situation. I'll send you a friend request

Hi, I need to lose about 100 lbs, have a son with autism, am married, and struggle with depression. I take antidepressants and my psychiatrist has been encouraging me to exercise for a number of years--so I'll feel better, lose weight, and he can reduce / taper me off of them. I just haven't been able to push myself to get…

PCOS and trying to have a baby /taking infertility drugs caused me to become depressed and gain weight. We adopted our son 9 years ago--things were going well and I started losing weight /feeling good --then my terrific father-in-law was diagnosed w stage 4 lung cancer (and died within 6 months), then we noticed our son…

Wow! I think we are all in the same boat! It seems like a lot of your stories are similar to mine. I just started with the MFP APP and started searching for motivational groups. Does whoever started this group need to add me somehow? I'd love to join!

I am also a mom of a son with autism, and a former sp Ed teacher--divorced once, but married for 14 years now. I am about 130 lbs overweight and recently downloaded some fitness APPS--this being one of them . . . To help me take care of myself more--sounds like we may have things in common :)

Wow! You have provided a whole lot of great information! I was diagnosed with PCOS eight years ago & was improving. Then my super informative doctor moved to another state. . . I have been sluggish ever since and have finally decided to do something. Your post was a helpful push
