Monday Check-in ... I though, on Friday, that I would have a nice loss to report today, but alas, I woke up this morning with puffy legs and feet and up a couple of pounds from Friday ... so today's weigh-in has to be considered invalid due to the swelling. Still, even with that, I am down from the beginning of the month and am the same as I was in the beginning of September ... so ... in a nutshell, I have maintained but not lost.
That got me thinking about my long-long-long term issues with excess weight. Since I have kept a journal of my weights for the past 50 years or more, given stretches where I just didn't care enough to record them ... I put quickly put togther a chart ...
This shows, that while I am no longer at my heaviest that I was in the 5-year deep-dark depression set between 2003 and 2008 I did lose about 1/4th of what I need to lose in 2009, and then my body promptly wanted to get back to my highs ... as bodies are wont to do ... and I let it slide during 2010-2012 with a concerted new effort in 2013 ... but I'm staying pretty much there for the past 2 years.
However, I am not giving up on the push to get to that 210 mark ... I just have to keep trying ... because I know that
"You can shift your weight and that will help with your health … just recognize that it is an ongoing process and while we might want a quick and easy fix, those solutions don’t have staying power. What has staying power is being aware of ‘what, how, when, where, and why’ as applied to your nutrition and calorie expenditure. You can do this just by being a bit mindful about the items you consume … and giving yourself the time you need to make adjustments as you learn more about yourself, your habits, and the minute changes in the habits you need to make to form new and better ones."
.... that was a quote on myself from something I once wrote in my diary. Still good advice today.
I've read everyones posts since the last time I was on here ... and to offer hello, cheers, and encouragement to everyone.

Good morining everyone!
This thread is once again becoming more active and I am so very happy about that!
Yesterday was not so good for me food wise. I did follow through on all my planned activities and the meeting last night was great.
I finished cleaning out my closet and found some photographs. One was from a period in my life when I was anorexic. I think I weighed about 109 at the time. Scary skinny and so very angry all the time.
Hubby is getting very irritable these days. He is blaming me for everything and I will let him. There is no reasoning with him at this point. He did tell me he plans on moving out when he is on vacation over Christmas. I almost jumped for joy! I did keep my joy to myself. At this point I am working very hard not to provoke him and to make this difficult time as smooth as possible. So now that his plan is out in the open I can make some plans of my own.
My sister was given tickets to Kinky Boots for tomorrow evening and she is not able to go. So I am taking a friend who will buy me dinner! So I do have a couple of things to be thankful for.
@missie0611 - Welcome. As we have all said "Come back and post often so we get to know you." This thread is one of the true gems on MFP. We are all at different places in our journey to fitness but we are united in our understanding of the process.
@Morgori - Luv me some gumbo! Although my favorite NewOleans dish is dirty rice.
@Nikion901 - How good for you to have such records available. Seeing it in color is amazing.
Love to all,
Lori
It's not about being the best - It's about being better than you were yesterday.

Hello, everyone! Started out late today. Spent the morning in bed catching up on Zzzz's for the first part of the holiday. lol Just now ate breakfast. lol I am so far behind eating! Well I wasn't perfect all last week but I did lose the 5 lbs that I gained the week before when I was really bad. So that's a good thing. I still can't get under 240 though. So frustrating! I am hoping this week goes well and I get into the 230's. Hope everyone has a great Monday! Let's do this!!!!!0
-
My Monday check-in (10/12/2015):
Weight today: 249.0
Weight lost since previous weekly check-in (10/5/2015): 3.2 pounds (only aiming for 2 pounds/week).
I'm still trying to transition from 2 meals/day to 3 meals/day but only managed that for 2 of the last 7 days.
Finally was able to exercise every other day during the last 7 days.
I'm still keeping my 2-hour post-meal blood sugars under good control (under 140 mg/dL) for the last 7 days (other than 1 meal where I hit a 2-hour post-meal blood sugar of 149, which for me, is still good compared to the high 300's I've hit in the past).0 -
Hi everyone!
@barney-- great job this past week!
@terri-- glad you got some extra sleep; that makes a world of difference in losing weight.
@lori-- glad to hear your husband is vocalizing his plans so you can start forming yours. Enjoy Kinky Boots!!
@niki-- great advice to yourself.
@tom-- Yum! Wish I knew it was gumbo day sooner. My DH makes a mean gumbo, but it's been awhile. I'll have to plant a little seed...
@missie & tammingtons-- Welcome!!!
@tinkie-- Oh wow, laser tag!?!? I didn't know that still existed. When I was in college, some friends and I were in a laser tag league and we were AWESOME! LOL Seriously, we were league champs 2 seasons in a row--my claim to fame. Social media specialist? That sounds fascinating. Can't wait to hear more about what that entails.
@kelley-- glad you are getting through your pre-surgery and that you'll have some post-op help from your mom. Yes, doc this morning confirmed upper respiratory infection; he gave me a z-pack and sent me on my way.
Monday Check-in:
Well, the doctor's office weighed me at my check-in and it was exactly the same as at my appt. over the summer, so I haven't done any damage with the sporadic logging and walking-only "exercise" routine. That being said, I haven't made any progress either. I still haven't renewed my gym membership--mainly b/c I don't want to start paying for my next year until I know I am well enough and have the time to head back to the gym. I thought about going tonight to pay, but I have meetings on Tues. and Wed. after school, so it seems a waste of two-days worth of paying. If I'm feeling better on Thursday morning, I will call when the trainer is there in the morning (she said I can renew it over the phone) and then go work out after school.
Grading Goals: (I HAD TO POST THIS B/C IT'S SO RARE)
NONE!!!!!
Yep, I'm all caught up on grading as of today. Of course, I'm collecting 41 papers tomorrow, but any day I'm totally caught up is a win.
Not only am I caught up, but I only had a minimal amount over this 3-day weekend. This meant a lot relaxing and some meeting with friends. My friend who moved back from Lake Geneva wanted me to go TV shopping with her, so we did that yesterday. I also got to visit with some friends of hers who came by to see the house; I hadn't seen in quite a while, so that was nice.
Today, I spent the morning at the doctor's office, then met a friend for a birthday lunch at a Thai restaurant I'd been wanting to try. Afterwards, I stopped at the mall b/c some friends had bought me a shirt at Loft for my b-day that I needed to exchange. It was super-cute, but didn't look good when I tried it on. It was very loose-fitting and unstructured, so I thought maybe a medium would look better than the large they bought me. It did look a bit better, but I still didn't love the style on me. I ended up finding a cute pair of gray dress slacks that fit perfectly, so I got those instead.
Exercise Goals:
Mon-- walk gunner
Tues-- rest day (meeting)
Wed-- rest day (meeting)
Thurs-- walk gunner + gym (crossing fingers)
Fri-- walk gunner
Sat-- walk gunner
Sun-- walk gunner + gym0 -
Hello everyone. I have had a snacky kind of day but thanks to working out later then usual will still come in under calories for the day. I am just not hungry for a couple of hours after my workout so I am skipping dinner after snacking all afternoon. I had a personal best at the gym today. I have been trying to put in short bits of jogging while on the treadmill. The longest I lasted till today was about a minute before getting winded. Today I went for just over three minutes. That felt great.
@karen I hope you are starting to feel better
@kah sounds like you are about ready for the surgery. Let me know how the salads turn out. I have thought about trying those myself
@robin you are such an inspiration. After everything the last year and you dont dwell and feel sorry for yourself. You just pick yourself up and say you are going to get it done now. I am really proud of you.
Welcome to all of the new faces. I hope you are all doing well and embracing all this journey has to offer. Okay now I am off to clean the kitchen. Have a great night all.0 -
Good morning, y'all! I hate days like this. I have to work both jobs (full-time one and part-time one). Had to be at 1st one at 8am, get off at 5, go straight to 2nd one by 5:15 and not get off until 10pm. UGHHHHHH I do it about 3 times a week so you think I would be used to it but I'm not. 14 hour days are killer! I also have to go right before lunch and get my bi-weekly shot. I get weighed there so I tend to not eat anything until afterwards so my eating on time is not on time! Like I said... I hate days like this.
I get to go look at a new townhouse that I'm trying to rent tomorrow. I know I'm going to like it. I just hope I can come up with the money to get into it. We HATE the place we're at right now. Sooooo can't wait to move. I hate moving so much but I'll do it just to get outta the current place. lol
I promise I'm not trying to be Negative Nancy. It just ended up being that way. lol I'm feeling good otherwise!
Have a great day!0 -
Good morning everyone.
Happy Train Your Brain Day!
Train Your Brain Day is Oct. 13 established to encourage people to expand their minds beyond their typical boundaries and engage them in brain exercises, puzzles, games, brain teasers, riddles and trivia games.
These brain exercises are to help your brain tap into a little more of its potential capacity, since scientists claim we use only a small part of what our brain is capable of achieving. They can also work to keep your brain healthy so it stays fit so it can continue the work it’s already doing, and help you stay sharp for lifelong learning.
One such puzzle that people use to keep their minds sharp is Sudoku. It is available in several different levels of difficulty. They are based on logic and require players to use creativity, patience, critical thinking skills, and focus.
You can also observe Train Your Brain Day by beginning to learn a new language that you’ve always wanted to learn. You can engage in classes or buy audio lessons in any language to become more fluent. Take classes in your local university or online. Sign up for a class you’ve always wanted to take in a discipline you’ve always wanted to learn. Buy a book on bird watching and start learning all the species you will be observing through your binoculars.
I thought growing up was something that happened automatically as you got older. But it turns out it's something you have to choose to do. ~From the television show Scrubs

Happy Hump Day!!! I’m so glad I’m at the halfway point. Once again I’m feeling exhausted. I haven’t checked in either and got off track once again. I know this is a pattern. When I’m not eating well, sleeping, exercising, tracking, being accountable, I feel like crap. Imagine that??!!! It’s time to get back on track. On Sunday, Cyrus and I went to Six Flags with my boss Randy and his family. Amusement parks are NOT my thing, but the sacrifices we make for our children. We were there from 12-10. WAY too long and it was Fright Fest. It was so hard going to work Monday AM and I think that’s thrown off my whole week. I cannot wait for the weekend.
@Kah68 (Kelley) – I’m not moving just Greg. I have my rental until December. I’m going to sign for another 6 months and next spring make a decision about Cyrus’ high school. A lot of stuff to consider for Cyrus before we get him settled for the next 4 years. I think I need surgery or something to get me motivated. Just kidding! You’ve been so organized and getting your life in order for the recovery time after surgery. So proud of you!
@RobinsEgg (Ellen) – You’ve got that right about staying low and off the radar. I’ll stand by my boss that’s for sure, but we’re both not going to let this guy take us down. About my friend, I don’t think he realizes how lucky he is to have me. LOL!! I don’t mean that in a conceited way at all, but I have a lot to offer. A friend shared with me there are three types of relationships (giver/giver, giver/taker, taker/taker). I’m been feeling a little bit like giver/taker. Unfortunately, I’m seeing a pattern in myself because my failed marriage was the same thing. I know he’s going through a lot so I’m trying to be patient because that’s what you do in relationships and help each other out. I was single for 11 years and ready to jump full force into meeting my Prince Charming. Well, I feel like the past 5 months we’ve been together I’ve been doing a LOT of giving. Sigh.
@lilzmil79 – No worries on the personals. You do what you can do. The only way I can do it is using a Word document like Kelley mentioned as well? I’ll leave it open and make comments than just copy/paste, but everyone does whatever works for them and when time permits too. Some days I just don’t have the time, but when I can I try to touch base. We’re just glad to see you back. Also, I read your post about leaving the stores without candy or baked goods – so proud of you!!!
@tinkie_04 – Welcome! This is a great group who will support you. Check in daily if you can. Accountability is key. Regarding your Thursday Truth last week (I’m a little behind), I totally agree. I guess we use those other terms to make us feel better, but when it comes down to it fat is just fat. I really wish I would have changed my lifestyle in my 20’s. I’ll be 47 next week and it’s so hard the older you get. It’s a vicious cycle of ups and downs. I’m trying to get control of my life so I can enjoy and live life to the fullest over the next 47 years. LOL!!!
@Terri70 – Loved your NSV at the Goodwill. Nice!!!! What an awesome feeling. Definitely not judging you about the Goodwill. It’s not my thing, but I have friends who find some amazing deals. You go girl!!
@Laurie – Girl, you’ve been so busy! I hope you’re still finding time to climb and ride because I know how much you enjoy those activities. I’m glad the Fall Harvest Festival went well. One event checked off. Hopefully, once you get these various events done you can take a little breather.
@cblue315 – I know many of us get frustrated when we are doing everything right, but still gain a pound or don’t see a loss. Like you said, we have to just keeping doing what we’re doing and see what happens. You refuse to get bent out of shape about it. Lori, I always love your attitude especially now more than ever. I know how difficult divorce can be, but you’re not letting him get you down. Stay strong my friend. You deserve to be so happy and it’s coming. Keep pushing forward. No negativity!!
@MrsRucker32, @Kristinearden, @Tammingtons, @Missie0611– Welcome!! You’ve found the best board on MFP. The folks here are awesome and if you’re looking for people who will be around and support you it’s this board. Check in daily if you can. Accountability is key. I look forward to getting to know you.
@Skinnyjeanz (Karen) – I hated to read you're still feeling under the weather. This has hit you pretty hard this time around. So you went to the doctor, but what’s the deal with your symptoms? Glad the grading was caught up even for a day. Nice accomplishment.
@Goinstd12 (Tracy) – Even though I don’t want to I probably need to do the sleep study again. I did one a few years ago and have the CPAP, but got away from using it. I’m sure that’s why my body has been acting weird lately. I’ve been finding these other gadgets like this headband thing and pillow hoping to help my sleep. They seem to work some, but probably not as good as the CPAP. I just hate, hate, hate that contraption and feeling like Darth Vader. LOL!!!
@BarneyRubble – Baby steps. You managed 2 days eating meals. Over the next 7 days, try for 3 days. Great job on the exercise too. You’re doing it!
@Jtconst – 3 minutes? You go girl! I’m so proud of you. Keep pushing yourself. You’re doing great!!

HI, my name is Christina. My goal is 162 lbs. That's a loss of 162 lbs. I have lost about 70.
I've been working out and getting my activity in. I have changed a lot of things. I have changed my diet drastically over the last 3 years. However, I have found that I am slipping. I eat right, then have a snack that's not healthy and full of sugar. Or, I eat out. I know that I do best when I eat at home, but I don't seem to have the time anymore - especially now that I have a lot of things going on. I work full-time, go to school full-time, run admin for a business part time, have a dog, fit in workouts, and try to see my grandma a few times a week. I'm exhausted.
My Wednesday wish is that I will wake up tomorrow with the drive and determination to get back on track and lose another 20 lbs before the end of this year.0 -
Back again! It's been a few months or so but I'm back at it again!! I just got engaged a week and a half ago and I feel like that is motivating me a bit. I don't want to be this big on my wedding day and I don't want to be this big when I start having kids. Time to get refocused!!0
-
@jennbo-- welcome back and congrats on your engagement! Any thoughts on when you will get married? Are you planning a big wedding? How exciting and a great motivator.
@christina-- welcome! Great job so far losing 70 pounds!! You sure do have a lot on your plate. I know I do best when I actually schedule my time to exercise and try to cook/prepare healthy meals ahead of time. Of course, I know that's easier said than done. I'm failing pretty badly at doing either at the moment, but every day I try to get back on track.
@susan-- doc said I have an upper respiratory infection and prescribed a z-pack. I'm halfway through and my lungs no longer hurt when I cough, so that's good. Still some congestion and coughing, but it's definitely better than it was. He agreed with my self-assessment that I was suffering from a combo of fall allergies and a cold--said he's seen a lot of that lately progressing to bronchitis or a URI. I talked to margaret today, and she's planning to join us for the Shamrock Shuffle.
@tom-- I absolutely loved the show Scrubs! Thanks for the quote.
@terri-- Sorry you are so busy with work; that sounds like such a long day.
@tammy-- thanks for the well wishes; I'm feeling a bit better. Congrats on your increased running endurance! I remember moving through those milestones, and though they sound small, they are a BIG deal. Three minutes is great! Keep going and before you know it 3 will be 5 and 5 will be 10.
AFM-- meeting after school, but I still managed a walk with gunner which he loved. The weather was nice, so I enjoyed it too. Still have the cough, but it seems to be clearing a bit. Not sure if I will make it to the gym tomorrow--playing it by ear.
Wed Wish:
No surprise, but I'm being selfish with my wish. I just want to get better, so I can get back to the gym.
Exercise Goals:
Mon-- walk gunner DONE
Tues-- rest day (meeting)
Wed-- rest day (meeting) WALKED GUNNER
Thurs-- walk gunner + gym (crossing fingers)
Fri-- walk gunner
Sat-- walk gunner
Sun-- walk gunner + gym

Good morning, everyone! Going well the last couple of days on plan. Sticking to it! I get to sign the lease on my new place today at 1:30. I can't wait to move from where we are right now. We all hate it with a passion. I totally hate moving but will deal with just to get outta there. lol
Have a great day, y'all!0 -
Hi everyone,
I was just reading some of your posts and thought I should post something too.
Well, I got my 9-year-old son (he is on the autism spectrum and verbal, but acts and talks more like a 4 or 5 year old) onto the bus and off to school after he was home for a couple days with a cold. He can be exhausting, but now I can focus on me! I just walked on the treadmill for 37 minutes0 -
Welcome all of you wonderful Newbies! I'm not going to welcome you by name right now - you will understand in a moment. Just want you all to know I'm here to help you along as much as you need - don't worry - go ahead and send me a P.M (personal message) any time you want if you need any kind of info about how this MFP place works, or ask it right here. I'll be your friend and I'm usually on this discussion at least 3 times a week. I'm full of love and hugs and no anger or shaming done here by anyone if you backslide or eat more that you say you're going to. We have all had our weak moments and falls off the wagon. We help each other get back on - the main goal is to keep moving forward. Just don't quit permanently for such a small reason!
AFM - Lori (@CBlue) you might recall putting a band-aid over an abrasion on my upper left shoulder after my evening shower one evening you were here. Well, the darn thing got infected and was terribly sore deep down, to the point I didn't want to move my arm. I saw my G.P. and he suspected it was a spider bite and put me on docicycline for 7 days - just started this Wednesday - well, the jokes on me. It has definitely wrecked havoc on my digestive tract. I knew to avoid all the milk and calcium and other warned products for 2 hrs before and after, and have been compliente, but to no avail.
On Monday I start a new job with a new client and interviewed with her Wednesday afternoon - and nature called about 2 hours into the interview. I tried to keep my cool, I felt I dare not use her "powder room", so as soon as she said I could leave, I drove home like a demon, parked a bit illegally at my building, left the windows down, ran inside to my condo, and I haven't left home since. I have almost run out of TP.
There was even a knock on the door tonight and it was our Maintenance man, Jorge, who luckily is a personal friend as well, and when I opened it, he acted so relieved! He said he was worried because I hadn't been putting out my trash, and the car was suspicious. Bless his heart! I told him my story - and he took the keys to my car and drove it to my garage spot for me and brought my keys back - what a sweet guy. You don't find many people like that!0 -
Well, my company is gone and my travels are through and I am feeling pretty good, because the first week I maintained (no weight gain) and today I was down 2 pounds. I was so worried I would set myself back with all my "off diet" eating. I had an Aha! moment with my counselor and it has really helped me react appropriately, which in turn keeps me from emotional eating.0

Good morning everyone.
Happy World Spine Day!
Every year on October 16th people from around the world join together to raise awareness on World Spine Day as part of the Bone and Joint Decade’s Action Week. The World Spine Day (WSD) theme for 2015 is “Your Back at Work”, focusing on the importance of education related to good spinal health and prevention of injuries in the workplace – help promote WSD by sharing a “spine selfie” of “Your Back at Work”!
Spinal disorders, such as back pain, neck pain, scoliosis and disc disease, to name a few are common, and they can have a profound effect on a person’s overall health.
Research has demonstrated that poor postures and inactivity can contribute to the development of back pain and other spinal disorders.
Back and neck pain is one of the most common reasons for workplace sick leave.
50% of the working population will experience back or neck pain symptoms at least once per year.
In a recent study low back pain ranked as one of the most “disabling” conditions and sixth in terms of usage of health funding
To help mark World Spine Day, participating health care providers and organizations around the world are encouraged to plan special events focusing on education on “Your Back at Work”! Please refer to “Resources” tab for the WSD Toolkit and other relevant educational materials to help you get started!

Hi there, feeling cabin-fever; we are just a couple miles from a big fire here in Bastrop county. We aren't in danger from the fire but smoke from the fire is a big problem. With both me and my DH having COPD we need to avoid it at all cost. We thought about bugging out but the only place we could go is Austin which is also in the smoke path. So we are staying put with towels under the doors to keep the smoke out, and we have 3 powerful air cleaners running to keep the air clean. Today is our 3rd day in lockup, pretty boring.0
-
Goinstd12- I hope you can avoid the smoke path and try to have some fun.
Susan- finding the time has become difficult with so many things interfering and conflicting with my life right now. I am still biking, climbing and running but swimming has dropped off my radar for now, just don't have the time or desire to fit that one in. I did climb tonight the first time in 2 weeks, it was great to get back to it. Next week I will be off again but due to a party that a friend is having not to mention a 10K run that I am suppose to do the next day. This will be very busy week again but I will make it work.
Karen- I am glad that Margaret will be able to join us for the Shamrock Shuffle as well. I am looking forward to that event. At this point, I am seriously considering flying in on Friday and leaving Monday.
My life has been very busy with getting stuff ready for the Zombie run and making sure everything is ordered. This past week, I ordered the race bibs, the problem was that they require 4 weeks for the custom bibs. That is what I wanted but had to settle for the standard bibs but that is what happens when you wait for someone else to get back to you. Lesson learned on that one. I ordered the flags and managed to get a discount so that was a positive. Ordered the shirts on the 12th only to learn tonight that they won't be ready until the 28, which misses both of our packet pick up days. This is a bummer since I made sure to get the order to him earlier than requested. However, if he doesn't raise the price on us for ordering fewer shirts then I will be happy. This will also enable to have the runners turn in their belts at the end of the race in exchange for the shirt. The bright side is that we don't have to transport the shirt boxes to the packet pick up sights. There are officially 100 people registered for the run and I still have another week to collect registrations. I hope people will not wait until the last minute to sign up but sign up this week. I may extend on-line registration to a couple of days before the run to make life easier for people.
Today, I had an unexpected day off. It was suppose to be professional development but due to lack of a raise or step increase the board decided to give the day off. While this does not compensate us for the lost pay, it was nice to have the day free with no meetings to attend. Therefore, I spent the afternoon purchasing a new road bike. I am very excited about the bike and get to pick it up on Wednesday. I will be putting the cage pedals on this bike until I am use to the breaking system and gear shifts. I still need to get comfortable in the clips so I don't fall again. While at the bike shop, they were able to adjust my cleats so they are easier to get in and out of thankfully.
This is the first weekend, when I have nothing schedule so I am looking forward to relaxing and of course grading some papers. Hopefully, they will go fast but you never know.
Hope everyone has a great week. Next week will be busy again but I will find time to exercise. I did see a decrease in the scale today but don't want to jinx it. I want the downward movement to continue.0 -

Hello everyone. Just an update after surgery, it was Friday--lasted two hours, longer than my doc anticipated but went well. I'm home, with laryngitis from the anesthesia, but resting somewhat comfortably. I'm keeping it elevated most of the time so no real swelling so far. Marcaine pump was removed today, only meant to last 48-hours. So far pain is moderate--hope tomorrow I can alternate rx pain meds w Tylenol. First shower today was frustrating & felt like a workout , so hope that gets easier. I think these first two weeks will be the most frustrating, follow up w doc on the 29th for evaluation, suture removal & cast change. Just taking it one day at a time.0
-
@Kah - Kelley - wow you have incredible fortitude. As far as showers go - forgetaboutit! - Pit baths my lady. At Camping stores they have these incredibly huge cleaning wipes (I swear they are 3x4 feet) for personal hygeine - I'd default to those until your a bit more agile. Don't go breaking something just cuz you're used to a shower a day. No one cares if you smell right now.
AFM - feeling a lot better! New antibiotic is in charge finally - hives are gone.
But tons of chores need to get done. Went thru tons and tons of towels and sheets and altho I did a lot yesterday I still have more to go.
I heard from MNWALKINGQUEEN (Holly) today. She said the service for her son, Kenzie, was yesterday, and it was "both sad and moving. The church was packed and people had to stand in the rear. All his friends came, and people from my old job at Target and my new job came. I gave the eulogy" Sorry, I tried to quote as best I could...

@RobinsEgg (Ellen)~LOL I have a bench for the shower plus a removable shower head & a waterproof cast cover (I'm in plaster cast from toes to my knee), so all prepared for actual shower. A bit cumbersome but I managed. I'm glad u are feeling better. Thanks for the update on Holly, sounds like a nice service for her son, continued prayers for her--give her my best.0

Good morning, everyone! Things have been CRAZY in my life. I'm moving Saturday! UGH! Soooo much stuff to do. Did lose a lb for my WI this morning, so I'm happy about that. But this move has me so stressed. My face is breaking out from it, but I'm not over eating. I could use a couple able bodies to help move if you feel so inclined! lol Right now it's just me, my 17 year old son, my 23 year old daughter and my 4'10" sister-in-law. This is going to be interesting. That's for sure. I put out an email to my grad students requesting help but no one has offered to help yet. UGH!
Have a great day, everyone!0 -
Monday Check-in ... I have stayed the same yet another week ... because 0.2 on the scale difference is no change at all. Not depressed about it though as I have been cooking all my meals and keeping tabs on the carbs and sodium so I know this is a good weigh-in. And, it is, in actuallity, down 4 pounds from the beginning of the month ... when I had a lot of water retention.
Yesterday a friend posted a contest photo on my social media of a give-away for a huge pizza and chicken wings ... this is Buffalo ... and those 2 foods have caused more people to get fat than anything else, including myself. Gosh I wanted some so badly I had to sit on my hands not to pick up the phone and order some of that good stuff for myself. Actually, what helped in the end is I filled myself up on a huge salad until I was near to bursting ... and then I took a look at my favorite pizza parlour's menu on-line and really zeroed in on the prices for that food ... I could make dinners for a week on what one small pizza and an 8-piece wing order would cost! ... but, deep, deep down, I know that one day soon I will have me a slice and some wings ... I just need to plan for when that will be.

Good morning, Everyone. I'm following along and enjoying meeting the new people. My weight is still struggling bouncing around about 10# up from my low in March. I'm not happy about it, but can't seem to get past the stress and focused on doing better. I am getting a good walk everyday, but it's raining today so I may not get to walk this evening.
Last week we had 3 dr. appts., this week we have two, plus some blood work, and of course, physical therapy twice a week, and a "Fit and Fall Proof" exercise class twice a week. Since DH can't drive any more, it really keeps us running. The MRI of his neck revealed a bulging disc between the 4th and 5th cervical vertebrae. We have to add to his physical therapy for that. The nurse forgot to order the lumbar MRI so we still have to do that. The neurologist says that nothing she has seen would explain why he is so cold all of the time, so we are going to have to have a thyroid workup. I'm really looking forward to our little roadtrip this weekend!
@kah68 best wishes for a speedy recovery.\
Onward and downward. Kaye0
