I like the land o'lakes light butter with olive oil. 50 cals a tablespoon (half of regular butter) I am kinda of a full flavor food gal though, so I also buy really good quality regular butter and just use less when I need to get tight with cals.

I use it to make oven "fried" chicken fingers. Delish.

I was diagnosed with PCOS 27 years ago aka the dark ages. And honestly the knowledge and treatments have barely evolved. Are you on regular metformin or the extended release? On the extended release I have not had a speck of abdominal upset. Regarding weight loss I'm afraid I am not much help. I am a classic case of the…

Are you on any treatment for the PCOS? I assume you are on medication for diabetes (dm2)? You should have a pelvic exam every year due to the PCOS as it puts you at a greater risk for a number of things, including cervical cancer. There are also certain panels the gyno would look at that might help determine treatment…

You can get it at the drug store. It's a little bottle of solution with the number the read should be, say 120. If your meter/strips read that then it is working fine, if not then you have (probably ) bad strips. Last time i got some it was about $8.
-
Have you tried testing your meter and strips with a control solution?

I am serving g beef brisket sliders and bbc chicken flatbread pizzas. Moderation is key but the flatbreads are totally good for you but you can't tell.

Oh my god. Want. The UK is so lucky! For me fried chicken - I could eat it until I clucked - and yellow cake with chocolate frosting, family recipe.

Often those with pcos have the best results when they follow a diabetic-like diet plan. I was diagnosed with it almost 30 years ago and reduced carb is the only way I have had real success. My suggestions would be to start with maybe finding a salad you like and can switch up a lot. If you don't like veggies much just…

Thank you!

Hey Dan, have you ever used the monk fruit as a sweetener in cooking? I just bought a package of organic monk fruit sweetener to facilitate some low carb/low glycemic impact baking I am experimenting with and I can't find much first hand knowledge of using monk fruit.

I just made these today, they are good. Even with the honey they are net 12 carbs each. https://elanaspantry.com/chocolate-cupcakes/

In the comments it talks about not holding planks for more than 30 seconds. I know very little about this, any truth to it being bad for you?
-
made it to 50 secs today! Up from last time when it was only 35!

Celery is really good as a filler in stir fry. Cut it at and angle and don't cook it too long so it stays crunchy.
-
Up to 35 secs. Gonna keep plugging away.

After losing a significant amount of weight: "Don't gain it back!" Um, thanks? I hadn't thought about that at all. And then I gained it all back.

My A1C in October was 12.0. Today, just 3 months later it is 6.4! Food really is medicine, y'all.

30 secs. Getting better!

I was diagnosed with PCOS 28 years ago. Yikes. I was once tolde that I was a "classic case"in a room full of med students who were staring at my ovaries. Nice. I went 15+ yrs without a period, had a massive heart attack at 35 and have diabetes. I wish I had gotten my act together years ago but I feel like I am making…

I feel like a slug, but 20 seconds today! I will get there!

I think she means something made at the store and sold out of the meat section. That's why I assumed they are mushrooms with ground meat.
-
Look at you, handsome! Wonderful job!
-
Me too. When I do get it I get the whipped just because it spreads easier so the tiny portions serving is goes further (or at least seems like it.) I do not keep it in the house when I am going through a period when I am struggling with my eating.

I made zoodles topped with a lighter but still rich and yummy Bolognese sauce. And good parm.
-
do you have a general idea of what type of stuffing is in them? If so I would just weigh one of the mushrooms and use that as the amount of filling.. example, if it is sausage and cheese stuffed and weighs 2oz, count as 1 oz sausage and 1 oz cheese. The mushroom itself can be a freebie. Sometimes all you can do is guess.
-
Anyone make the crockpot bolognese? I. Am thinking to try it tomorrow with zoodles.

you look great! So pretty!
