I'm 58. Making solid gains. SL5X5 Starting Strength. Go for it!

I did it for about a year. Followed it to the letter, got surprisingly good results in strength & appearance. I'm in my late 50's & my legs started to really hurt after a year of 75 - 100 heavy squats a week, so I switched to another program. I got no results from that, however, I blame that on the app, not the program, it…

I did StrongLifts for a year, at home with a cheap rack & bench & some garage sale weights. Results were surprisingly good.

Clearly you look awesome. Maybe try a different outfit. Little black dress?

The secret to great waffles is to pour the batter into paper cups to the amount of one waffle & let them sit for 5 or so minutes. The air rises out, making much nicer waffles. Then just pour a cup into the iron & go. (Plus, you could weigh the cups.)

Medium rare - but really scorched on the outside. Make the charcoal hot as lava!

You have an excellent attitude! You'll do great.

Start out lighter & slower. Got on a proven beginner program like Stronglifts 5x5 that starts out light & follow it to the letter. The program will advance you at a proven rate that will maximize strength gains & minimize soreness.

You're doing the right thing. Use MFP as your primary tool. Don't get drawn off by "diets". Log EVERYTHING you eat as accurately & honestly as possible. Use a food scale as much as possible. Stay under but near your calorie goals. Stick to it, you'll get it.

Most of those old machines had some kind of over head press station. Maybe a bar could be put across that. Post picture or model number.

You look pretty good for invisible.

Great job! Great commitment. Beautiful in both pictures. Keep it up.

This is exactly the case, & is coming along now.

Yeah. This. ^^^

I retain about 3 pounds for a few days.

As above, Get on one of the beginner free weight programs. community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10332083/which-lifting-program-is-the-best-for-you Set MFP to gain 0.5 pounds per week. A slow bulk is good for your skin & you are young, you'll be fine. BTW, great job on losing the weight, your profile pic looks great.

Squats & bench. (Trying to train myself to love OHP)

I bought the paid version after a coupe months. I like it. Well worth it IMHO.

It's hard enough to keep calories down when losing weight. Protein supplements usually are about 250 cals per scoop. When I'm cutting, I just do my best to hit my macros. It's a pretty lean day that i'll get out the protein powder.

Definitely this^^. And follow a beginners program like starting strength, stronglifts or strong curves. Don't make up something yourself.

Wow! Thank you.

I'm 56. I did SL 5x5 for just under a year. I followed the program exactly (with the app). I pushed it heavy. The gains were very good, better than I thought would be for my age. I think that the volume of squats jump started & drove those gains (my gut feeling). Over time however, squatting 3 times a week caught up to me.…

I just did a quick search & found this bench: link for $114.00 & this rack: link for $299.00. Again, obviously there would be shipping. I bought all my bars & plates at garage sales over time, but new sets have come way down in price. As others said, this is the kind of rig that it takes. It is safe to use by yourself, so…

Definitely this.

I use mostly free weights. I grip the bar just a little off center til it feels right.

I gained 4.9 pounds from Friday morning to Monday morning. By this morning, (Thursday), it was all back off again. Logging & CICO is a lifestyle & it works. Don't beat yourself up, stick with it & you'll be fine.
