Why am I always pleasantly surprised with the scales after a night out drinking?

Every time I go out, I dread getting on the scales but the next morning I wake up and my weight has always dropped!

Sometimes, I think it could be because of all the dancing but last night there was no dancing.

Any explanations?

Don't be fooled...as the above poster has said, alcohol massively dehydrates the body but you'll see your weight return to normal after you've refuelled with water. Sorry

    I believe it's dehydration

I'm the opposite though I retain water when I drink :)

That makes sense. I definitely felt dehydrated this morning on my way to work :)
Drinking my green tea and water as we speak.

Either way, its lower than i've weighed in over a year so it has definitely motivated me! Got my gym gear with me so I can go after work!

Alcohol is amazing for purging carb bloat. That diuretic effect is fantastic, so long as you don't overdo it, and make yourself miserable. A couple of glasses of Scotch, and I've been known to wake up five pounds lighter. :D

If I have an important meeting and I'm wearing a shift dress I have a couple of vodkas the night before. Great for the flat tummy effect the day after o:)

alcohol is a diarrhetic so it can um...empty you out when you get up! That coupled with dehydration and you peeing loads the night before equals low weight for some!

As long as it's not motivating you to drink more alcohol, it's all good. ;)
