  • I think most people struggle with this in some way or another. For me, I always feel like I'm misleading. With clothes on I look pretty good and in shape, but take them off and you can see the reminders of my severely overweight life. For now, I'm still learning to be healthy, which includes loving my body with all its…
  • Thanks for all the advice guys! It seems strictly external to where I don't feel it in my leg, but more on. Shopping on amazon for a foam roller tonight!
  • I keep meaning to use a foam roller! For whatever reason my gym only has one and most of the time I either can't find it or someone is using it. Maybe I'll be more diligent about using one and see if that helps
  • I don't think there's any such thing as a good/bad carb but I do think timing and portioning can make a big difference. Simple catbs like bananas or even candy are great after an intense workout to aid in recovery...just don't go nuts and eat a ton
  • I'd take a guess that you've recently upped your fiber intake (unintentionally). It'll do it every time! Which is a really healthy thing to do but until your body adjusts you're gonna be a little more gaseous than usual. Just make Beano or some other anti-gas med your best friend for a week or two ;)
  • ^^ These are actually my 2 faves. And I highly recommend getting a Misto (or using any store bought spray oil)! It helps any seasonings stick and the uses so little oil it's less than 5 calories
  • Typically speaking your body will not build muscle and burn fat simultaneously. Thas why bodybuilders go through cuts/bulks. When you're bulking you're eating a caloric surplus + lifting heavy and often. It enables you to build muscle mass but also causes you to gain fat. Which is why you then cut by going into a caloric…
  • I definitely do! I think the same way in terms of portions. Like, pizza, for instance. I could maybe squeeze in 2 slices but I've never been able to eat just 2 slices of pizza and feel satisfied. So...for the time being I've just avoided things that I know I have no self control with. Hopefully as my journey progresses…
  • Thanks for all the help guys! Sometimes my type A brain goes nuts and wants to analyze things to death
  • When I started lifting I did a 3x/wk full body routine and recently switched to a 4x/wk upper-lower split so we basically are opposite lol. But, speaking as someone who's done both I definitely feel the upper/lower split is more challenging (which is why I switched). Since you're considering upping your weight I assume…
  • I, personally, use coconut oil in a spray container (they make olive oil ones as well). Or you can purchase a Misto sprayer and add your own oil. Anyway it comes out in such a fine mist it's seriously a negligible amount of calories...like less than a gram of fat...so I don't feel the need to track it.
  • I stick close to my calories and focus primarily on hitting my protein and fat macros using carbs to fill in whatever is leftover. I also try to hit my fiber goal. Other than that I look at the numbers but don't give then much weight.
  • I tried this for about 3 days back when I was vegan and before I started really researching my diet. I think, probably like veganism, it works well for some people. Personally, I've discovered through trial and error that I'm not very carb tolerant so eating Raw til 4 (and eating a vegan diet period) made me blow up like a…
  • I'm pretty loyal to Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard. Tons of flavor options and all pretty tasty. Good macros (24P, 1F, 3C) like 5 grams BCAA and 4 grams glutamine per serving. I get it cheapest Vitacost.com... $58 for 5lb or $30 for 2lb
  • I've been using MFP for a few years but have only recently started taking it seriously. Always awesome to have people to talk to about the experience. Add me!
  • Totally feel ya girl! Sucks when you're the only one of your friends starting something new and no one really gets it. Sent you a friend request.... I think lol
