I have got the Joseph Joseph tri-scale https://www.josephjoseph.com/en-gb/triscale - it's amazing and so space saving!

Then get ready to start feel energised to eating better and moving more because there is a great community of members here ready to give you any advice and encouragement you need to hit your targets! Welcome to MFP :)

Wow those no crunch ab exercises look great - I literally had no idea there were so many ways to hit abs! Thank you. Thank you everyone also for all the great encouragement and advice. I'm relatively new to working out (except for running which I have done on and off for a number of years) so will need to look a bit more…

Eating out less as well will mean you cook more at home so can incorporate lots more fresh fruit and vegetables in your diet which will be great :D

Let's do this! 2 days of being good (well goodish) and exercising - good start!
-
Fantastic advice - thank you!

I am English and one time I was on an American flight from Birmingham, England to New York when I was offered some "chips" by the air stewardess. Now, I was fully aware that in America "chips" are what I would know as "crisps". however, the "chips" that I had been offered were in a cardboard box so I was SURE that they…

As in a long time to train to build up my stamina to be able to get up them, rather than the hills themselves taking a long time to get up (although I'm not quick by any stretch of the imagination!)
-
Wow thanks for all the useful info - really appreciate it. I am quite heavy (182lbs) and there were a few hills (they have taken me a long time to be able to run up them so it is hard work!) so sounds like it may have been accurate - woop! Makes me feel even more motivated to run now.

I agree, however, the real appeal of 5:2 for me was that I only had to count calories 2 days a week and it did not change the rest of my week at all. I'm in a different place now and happy to track all the time so maybe the maintenance version would appeal now!

Same here! Or pints of Guinness, peroni, San Miguel..... So good!
-
My diary is open - feel free to add me as a friend. I try to cook from fresh as often as I can (this has gone downhill slightly the last few days / week as I have been sick but on good weeks I probably cook 90% of my evening meals from fresh :) Not vegetarian though!

You've got this!! No point snacking on cookies at work - the cookies can't take away the fact that you are at work (which sucks) so they can never be that enjoyable! You're going to feel great when you wake up tomorrow knowing you resisted AND worked out!
-
I did 5:2 for a while and the advice I always received was YES you can exercise on fast days but NO you can't eat back the calories. I generally found walking was the best bet because it wasn't too strenuous but it took me out of the house to take my mind off eating :) Good luck!
-
If you had asked me about 2 years ago I would have whole heartedly recommended 5:2. I managed to lose 2.5 stone incredibly easily (within about 7ish months) On the 5 days of normal eating I was still having takeaways, treats, pints in the pub and doing no exercise. The weight just kept dropping off no matter how bad I was…

I agree with this - brushing teeth is a really good call. Having brushed my teeth I associate this with "not eating" as it is usually right before bed or after breakfast so the cravings deplete. Plus nothing tastes right after you have brushed your teeth!!

I like watching HIIT workout videos - there is a trainer called Rebecca Louise who does LOADS of different types of videos (I forget which company she is affiliated with but if you find her videos you will find similar types of videos with different trainers through the same company)- her 7 minute work out video and…

Well done! I am just at the beginning of a (hopefully) 3 week dry spell. My regular drinking patterns are not dissimilar to yours except I probably drink slightly more 1 night a week but have 2/3 dry days. Any tips would be gratefully received (I am dreading Friday night!)

Day 2: 16,900 woop!
-
Literally just because I have given it up I could have fancied a glass of wine tonight. Went for a run instead and the feeling soon passed though :)
-
Early night for me so I will post my steps for the end of day 1: 18,450 - over the moon given I have a long commute and sit at a desk all day :)
-
I am going to try (well up to Thursday 25 Feb anyway!) good luck!

I'm in! Current weight (1 February 2016) 196 lbs. Plan to use MFP to make sure I have a deficit in my calorie intake and up the exercise by walking on my lunch breaks and doing at least 3x runs (or other form of higher impact exercise) per week. Also NO alcohol!
-
I'm in - fitbit says I have done 8734 so far and it is only lunch time! Let's do this!

Thanks Daizee_x - looks like we have v similar weight loss goals!
