  • Guys you can do it. I am 11 weeks in without giving up and i used to be just like you! Always failing after a week or two. Out of those 11 weeks i only had one week where i had a fair few bad days eating and that was because of a weekend trip to amsterdam and a birthday dinner (and a sod this week might aswell enjoy this…
  • What worked for me personally is not exercising to begin with. In the past dieting and exercising have gone hand in hand. Fail my food and i stop exercising or giving up on exercise would mean giving up the diet aswell. Work out how many calories your body needs to maintain the weight you are, then take 500 calories off…
  • Brilliant. Mind me asking what you did to get rid of your belly? (Haha sorry).. Its just my partner has been desperately trying to lose hers with little difference despite exercising most days and eating at a pretty bug calorie deficit bless her! She has a cheat days on saturday but cant see that being the big difference.
  • Go to your profile and under goals you can enter your own calorie goal. Work out your TDEE and enter that number as the goal you want to achieve
  • You can still eat your favourite foods, whether it pizza and icecream or indian takeaway or a mac donalds. The key is to plan in advance (ideally the day before) what meal you want and shape the rest of your meals around that treat meal. You dont have to be under your calorie goal every day, just 5/6 days a week instead. I…
  • Brilliant. Just what i needed to know. Cheers
  • I used to believe the same as you in regards to eating no carbs for diets. I would always fail in the end aswell. Since mid February i have lost over 2 stone (28 pounds) and thats eating at a calorie deficit. I find cous cous with sauteed red onion and chopped up grilled peppers out of a jar a really good low calorie but…
  • I love this thread. Pop in at least 4/5 times a week to keep me motivated. So many legendary people in here.
  • Probably when i got to 20 pounds loss is when i really was convinced. Ive since lost another 7 pounds and still feeling really positive and more motivated then ever to keep going and hopefully lose another 21 pounds!
  • Awesome dude. Well done.
  • When i went to amsterdam last week in one evening i ate a bbq spare ribs and chips for dinner, apple crumble crepe for dessert, a waffle with caramal and ice cream and then a mini hotdog abit later!
  • Same. Feel free to add me for same reason anybody.
  • As long as you have worked out how many calories your body needs to maintain your weight, and stayed under your that amount by 500-1000 calories a day (after adding back your calories burned from exercise) then you will have lost weight.
  • Typically.:: Tea and sugar, Shredded wheat and 300ml of milk for breakfast Apple, banana mid morning snack Ham brown bread sandwich with light butter for lunch Canned Soup for dinner if i want to have a low calorie dinner Cous cous with sauteed red pepper and onion with chicken breast or steak A coffee with 2 tsp of…
  • You can do it, you just need to try. The first thing i would suggest is to work out how many calories your body needs (google TDEE Calculator) and then take 500 calories off this number. Then weigh your food and key it into your food diary so you become aware just how much you're overeating. This should help you to cut…
  • Started MFP 7 weeks ago, 24 pounds down and a fair few more to go! But im honestly delighted to feel confident enough to post a picture that really shows a difference. Like im finally doing it right after all these years! Feel free to add me anyone, im always looking for people to help spur me on and vica versa!
  • I haven't even thought about a reward, perhaps because I don't have a goal weight because i genuinely don't know what weight i need to be to look as good as i want to! I have fat on my hips that have reduced LOADS over the 7 weeks i have been going, but i need a lot more to go too. To be honest, my reward will be allowing…
  • Happy with my progress so far. Still a long way to go though so I'll keep ploughing on...
  • I hear the best use of it is the weekly meetings which help keep you motivated. The whole converting calories to points is apparantly how they can sort of justify the price for the membership. If you need interactive support to help keep you motivated its probably a good idea. If you can keep motivated by seeing results…
  • Nice post. Im almost 7 weeks into my weightloss and following similar points to yours i have already lost 21 pounds. Its cool to see people who have made it knowing one day i will get there aswell, i have never been more confident in that.
  • A cheat day for me is eating my maintenance calories really, so if im having a dominoes in the evening i will eat a really light breakfast and lunch.
  • When you finally fit into the clothes you got for your birthday/christmas that were always too small but you kept anyway in the hope that one day you would fit into them.
  • Yeah, the restaurants website isnt up and running yet because theyve only just opened so i couldnt really do that but in the future i will definitley be choosing my meals before i go. And i went for that run in the end anyway and supposedly burned 450 calories so im back to feeling good again!
  • Thanks guys. Still wish I could find the motivation for a short run later to offset some of the calories, haha. But thanks. Ive actually worked my *kitten* off at work this week, far more then my calorie guide allows for but im trying to lose fat here! So any day over my goal feels like im slowing my progress.
  • Counting calories worked for me aswell, i was able to eat busicits and chocolate bars if i wanted to and the stress of NEVER BEING ALLOWED TO HAVE THEM disappeared. I COULD have them? But i choose not to now really, but if i do i log them and see how much it leaves me for the day. If i have had a bad day then i just have a…
