46, down 76 lbs so far using MFP. For those starting your journey this year, you CAN do this. Have faith in yourself, trust the process, stay the course. :)

*sniff* that's beautiful :)

Just fads. Your liver/kidneys will do all the "cleansing" your body needs. Some people might see an initial loss, hence the idea they are "kickstarting" things, but that is usually water weight and not real fat loss.

wow, ok. I wish you the best of success with your journey. (and if you were more familiar with the boards, @kommodevaran is very helpful) I hope someone else can provide you with the answers you want to hear.

@kommodevaran wasn't implying anything, just pointing out very common things that many overlook when they are trying to lose weight. There was nothing there implying you are an idiot, just a request for more information or for you to ask yourself those serious questions and in the next answer, you give the bolded…

Sometimes we fall in love with the wrong person - maturing is realizing when things are not good or healthy and making a change. No one will think less of you for leaving a toxic environment. You are 18 and have so much living to do. Get out on your own, really learn who you are and enjoy life. You may find someone 1000x…

Weigh the finished dish, divide how many grams by the number of servings you think you'll get out of it (say 6) then you can portion out accordingly. (Use weight, cups are much less accurate in pretty much everything :) ) and yummmm beans rock.

I have donated almost all my bigger clothes, with the exception of some sweaters and tops that I can still wear - even though they are really big on me. It's a little scary, but also pretty cool. I had kept a few "smaller" clothes over the years in hopes of fitting into them again... most of which I do now and a few that…

I'm going to throw in my vote for this one, too

definitely Frito's (I go by grams, though.. even more sad) but I find a few added to chili or whatever will add the flavor and I don't need a ton. Peanut butter was a sad day. Fish was a nice surprise. Pretty decent calorie range there oh. and my fave spring mix. If I wanted to, I could eat a mixing bowl full and barely…

lol I think that might have been my spirit animal in my younger years :)

Depends on my mood. I usually say "Excuse me, the line is back there." and maintain eye contact. That's usually all it takes. Sometimes I just let them go.. which always bites me in the rear since they are usually going to be a PITA transaction. lol

Thanks, everyone! :)

Me IRL most of the time.

You are awesome, @MissusMoon :)

I upped my calories a little from where it was set because I was getting cranky and stayed hungry at the lower level (1300 cals) so I upped it to 1450 and have been happier - and still losing - there.

You are a rock star!! Congratulations on all your hard work!!

lol this made me chuckle.. nice one :)

Set smaller goals. Go for the first 10 or 20, when you hit that, pat yourself on the back and then go for another 20. Pick something out of your closet that is a little snug (we all have something like that hiding in there) and hang it up where you can see it, make fitting into that another smaller goal. Take each day as…

Authentic is a liquid term since there are as many regional (and household) differences to cuisine as there are ethnicities. What is authentic to one family in an area isn't to another, but most will have flavor profiles that are similar. For Indian (vegetarian - Indians know how to do vegetarian) try Madhur Jaffrey Saveur…
