I've seen it mentioned a few times throughout the thread; being more comfortable actually saying things like "I'm hungry", or "I feel like ice cream" to people, even your close friends. Before, if I said that it felt like they would do a mental eye roll, or a sarcastic "yeah, sure". Maybe all in my head, but it made me…

Rice, Laughing cow cheese wedges, Worcestershire sauce, tea, jalapenos, pickles, and homemade tortillas.

Despite some super intense cravings from exam stress, I somehow -after some intense primary school calorie math - managed to keep to my daily calories!!!

Hi! I'm no expert, but from what I understand its just a matter of consistent weight loss, spot reducing in certain areas just isn't possible. I have the same issue with my hips and thighs. Just keep with the calorie deficit, and it should come off eventually. :)

Oh sorry, I meant 10850 calories IS my deficit total. That's the amount I need to stay at or under to lose 0.5 lbs a week.

For the first time ever....yes. Last night, right before I took a shower after swimming 2 kilometers. It was amazing, one of the best feelings ever. Just stood there hugging myself, grinning like an idiot. :D

Amazing loss in such a short time! Good job, keep it up!

I'm confused; isn't the BMR the number of calories one would need even if bedridden/comatose? So shouldn't you be eating at least 1340, even if completely sedentary?

Thanks everyone for your contributions! Ashliefische is right, I didn't realise 1lb loss per week was aggressive. With many people aiming for 2lb per week, I thought it was perfectly fine. But thinking about it, it does make sense for rate of weight loss to decrease as they lose weight. My goals for weight loss aren't…

I understand your frustration, but I do agree with aggelikik. Its not your family's journey, its yours. It'd be great to receive support from loved ones as we go through it, but that simply is not the case for everyone. Myself, I've had to hide everything about my weight loss from my family and friends, because there is…

Thanks for your quick replies! CharlieBeansmomTracey: I'm losing because despite being a healthy weight, I store a lot of fat on my hips, thighs and stomach, which I really want to be rid of. Thanks Lounmoun, that makes sense. Didn't realise it should be .5; now I'm not so unhappy about not losing anything last week.

It happens, probably even to the most self-restrained of us. I find a "splurge" day even helps me in terms of weight loss, but that might be just me. Just don't worry about it, log it, and start a new day.

I love porridge! But its started giving me really bad GI problems, so I can't have it anymore. :( Really bummed about it, its so filling and perfect for cold mornings.

I was just thinking about this. I realised quite recently that one reason I've failed so often with weight loss/fitness is because I just couldn't bring myself to weigh or measure. And without that I had very little that actually motivated me to continue, so I would usually just give up.

How do I take it? Pretty much intravenously. B)

My knees are constantly nicked! :o

Awesome! I hope to have that kind of result one day. Can I ask about the time period between the two photos?
