I’m the OP here and I’m bumping this because I need motivation. I lost 105lbs then my wife had my son and I’ve gained around 80 of it back. I’m 26 years old 392lbs and actually scared for my health.

Thanks for the advice guys I am about to get back into the gym regularly my girl had a baby 12/20 had to take a couple weeks off.
-
great job man I started at 415 lost 100 so far hoping to see results like this
-
@fb47 I have gained quite a bit of muscle since I've been lifting clearly I fall into the 1 and 2 categories but It has slowed down a lot and that is fine I understand eating at a deficit it will cause that.
-
These are good points and I kind of figured I started so heavy that eating at a surplus at any time sounds crazy to me but I know that I will get to the point where I can for now I think I should focus on strictly eating at my deficit and continue to lift to maintain the muscle that I currently have.

Thanks guys I want to make a complete body transformation not just look the weight. I am only 25 years old and just had a baby so by the time my child is older I want to be a completely different person
-
Great job man this def inspires me your body type now is what I would like to have. I am a lot shorter at 5'11 but I started at 415lbs already lost about 100 lbs right now I'm bouncing between 318 and 315. I've been lifting since about February 2017 but have not gotten the results I want. Started my weight loss journey…

I got tested multiple times and they showed me the results and I def believe them because I had "other issues" also. I have to see the Endocrenoligist next month which is crazy I had to wait like 4 months to get in to see them. So basically I just need to wait to speak with them. Since I have starting lifting my "other…

Thank you for all the feedback guys. I am going to follow a routine from now on. I have done a lot of research and I am going to follow the 5x5 stronglifts routine. When I first heard about it I did not think it was challenging enough but now I see you add weight every time so I know it will be challenging. I guess I…

Dude get a gym membership. No reason to be scared at all. Go there and ask people they will help you. I have the same grazing problem you have here is my solution. Plan out snacks in advance. Plan a late night snack for when you would normally graze. It works but currently I haven't been doing that and I have fell back…

Also I can almost always get to the gym 3 times a week plus on the weekends I am always doing active things. The problem with going to the gym is I cannot go the same days every week so it makes adding the calories odd like I would have 4 days of eating at 2090 then 2 days in a row adding gym calories and eating more. I…
-
Thank you for the help I will make sure to add everything and to weigh everything also. I agree I do not like seeing that on my TL. I see people like burning 1200 calories doing hiking or stuff like that. I just hope they do not try to eat those back lol.
-
I agree I really think I like this idea better so I need to go in and removed the exercise that I added earlier. I have never been a fan of eating more just because I exercised.
-
Yes it does make sense and I thought that is why there was a difference. I will stick with the TDEE because I do not add/eat back exercise calories and I think its just natural for someone to struggle when cutting more calories which is what I am doing by not adding the exercise. I think this will work better and if it…

I agree with that @mrsnattybulking I have had a calorie goal lower than 25% this whole time and I have been fine
-
So it says to maintain I should eat 3378 per day. I want to do 2lbs per week so I am going to change my settings right now to 2378 which is an increase from the the 2090 and I really think that will help me.
-
So here is something new I tried the TDEE thing and it tells me to eat 2533 calories to lose 1.7 lbs per week. I set it to 25% calorie reduction which it told me is dangerous. What I do not understand is that I look at myfitnesspal and it is telling me to eat 2090 which I understand does not include exercise and the TDEE…
-
Good point sounds like I need to simplify it and just figure it out for myself that way it is something I can stick with.
-
Thank you for the feedback. I agreed I eat a lot of empty calories and I should replace that with nutritious foods that would allow me to feel full longer. I would be down to set my own personal goal instead of trying to debate between these 2 but I am not even sure what I would set that as I guess I need to mess around…

I think a part of my problem to is I am thinking to much about muscle gains and I have really been busting my *kitten* with weight lifting so I try to focus on getting protein and sometimes I choose protein over staying within my calorie goal. I know most of this is just things I need to change myself. I have to make the…
-
for the people who have commented I have not changed my calories. I am still at sedentary and still having the same problem. I know I should have made a change already I am just afraid that I will up the calorie in take and start to gain weight. Part of my problem is that it is hard to eat back my exercise calories because…

To reach 100 lbs lost. Weighed in the other day at 325 lbs and I started at 415 lbs so I have 10 more lbs to go this is really exciting then after that I can work on getting under 300 lbs which will be the most exciting.
-
This is my favorite success stories so far. Great job man and keep it up you are looking good. It is an amazing transformation. Your starting weight and current weight are basically my exact goals also. Started at 415 and my goal is 230. Currently at 325 which puts me about half way to my goal.
-
Thank you I cannot wait to reach 100 lbs lost I think that is when it will become real.

SW:415 lbs (December 2015) CW: 325 lbs (May 13 2017 GW: 230 lbs by January 2018 Loss last week: -5 lbs Total Loss: 90 lbs I was stuck at 85 lbs lost for about 3 months and now I am back on track. -
Good job I myself am approaching the 100lb mark. I have 10 lbs left to go its really exciting.
-
another one. My story I started January 2016 and I have lost 85lbs so far. Simply just started counting what I eat with minimal exercise. As of now I have been Yo-Yoing for like 4-5 months but its all my fault I am getting my eating under control again to kick start my weight loss again. You can do it though get started…

85lbs. Still have a lot more to go but this is the same outfit in the 2 pictures. Hope this helps
-
Thank you I might try some of these. I would like to make protein bars or something like that. I want to try to use them for post workout snacks.

I think from what I have read you cannot technically convert muscle into fat although the recomp process seems to be similar to that but instead of the fat actually converting your body will use the fat as energy to repair your muscles. Thanks everyone for the advice though. I think that I am going to continue with my…
