caffeine causes me water retention and palpitations, so it's a no-no for me.

hi, i have at least another 50 to go
-
my face seems to be less bloated looking, and i've dropped 2 waist sizes since mid-may.

i've found by not telling anyone you're on a diet helps, let them see the results for themselves, i've lost 2 stone (28lbs) in 8 weeks but it's still not been noticed by anyone other than my wife and kids. i put that down to me gaining 6stone in under a year so people who ive not seen in a while still think i'm slimmer…

bread was the first thing i threw out 7 weeks ago, i substitute 2 roasted portabello mushrooms for a bread bun when i fancied a burger, i couldn't tell the difference! but bread is a no-no in low carb diets, along with pasta, rice and potatoes, there are several alternatives out there.

you're already at an ideal weight for a 5'7" person

do you log tea/coffee? high sodium food makes you retain water as does caffeine, deli meats and canned foods are the biggest culprit.

i seem to eat just to make up my calories, i eat a lot of turkey breasts during the day and they are low calorie, but keep me feeling full, so i'm always in calorie defecit i can't see the point of eating just to make up my calories when i'm not hungry? i'm a large bloke but i find it hard to even eat 1000 calories a day…

i try to eat under 90 grams a day, but my love of fruit especially bananas raise that up. but i make sure my protein is high, im quite sedentary so low carb makes sense to me.

Opinions are like arseholes - everybody has one. my opinion is..if you find kale helps you lose weight, then carry on munching, no problem.

i've only been dieting 6 weeks and can now wear the jeans my daughter bought me in 2012! down to a 38 waist from 42/44, still a long way to go beore i can fit in my wedding suit though, i was a 32 waist then.

p.s cut out as much sodium as you can and stick to fresh. ALL processed foods contain obscene amounts of sodium. Tinned foods, deli meats etc, chuck them away.
-
i don't log my activity, im quite sedentary but i walk to the shops every day, i dont log it i just stick within my food calories and anything else becomes a bonus.
-
i still drink quite heavily but i've changed to red wine and diet lemonade, 1 bottle of red wine is equivalent in calories to just 2 pints of beer or 3 cans/4 bottles, i always make sure i have 500 calories left on an evening to compensate for the wine. i know if i stopped drinking i could lose weight quicker but i enjoy…

i lost 40lbs in 3 months in 2009, gained back 70lbs in 7 years! a lot harder this time for some reason.
-
try red wine and diet lemonade to replace the beer jonny, a bottle of red wine has as many calories as 2 pints of lager. considering i drank 8 pints a night previously i think its a step in the right direction.
-
i'm 11 months from 50, i'm determined to lose at least 50lbs by then, good luck!
-
i would have thought thawed, as ice is heavy.

i gave up all white things (bread, pasta. rice, pastries) and replaced with high protein food like cod and turkey, if i fancy a sandwich i put the filling in between two roasted portabello mushrooms instead of bread buns, and for wraps i use a large lettuce leaf in place of a tortilla wrap and roll ip some turkey breast…

you are more or less in the same boat as me jonny, i realised something was going on when i was finding it hard to find clothes that fit me, until i stood on the scales and weighed 20st 7lbs, my first thought was "i was half that weight on my wedding day!" so up i got and on my journey now, a stone lost in 5 weeks. funny…
