  • If it just water weight, no worries. Increase your fluid intake and the pounds will come off in days. You cannot gain five pounds from one cheat day until you consumed 3000 plus calories.
  • For someone your height, you are quite trim so I would not say you would have to do a whole huge weight loss routine. It sounds like you just have to tone up with some planks or crunches. Are you sure it is fat and not just bloating? I thought I had loads of fat in my belly and it turned out to be digestive issues causing…
  • I would just keep exercising and inputting your food on here for another couple of weeks and see what happens. If you see the scale stop going up and you are certain it is fully functioning, go to your doctor as the weight gain in spite of all your efforts can be a symptom of something like low thyroid function.
  • As everybody else said, follow the doctor's orders because if you hurt yourself, you may not be able to exercise for much longer than two weeks. I know it is disheartening, but the two weeks will go by fast and at least you can still focus on your diet.
  • My cheat day is once a week for one meal and it never ruined my progress. It kept me motivated and my instinct was never to go eat unhealthy for the rest of the week because I knew if I really was craving some high calorie food I can have it in just a few days.
  • I really appreciate your feedback and motivation. It was just disheartening to go from seeing progress to a frozen scale for the most part for months. I will wait it out like you said and add more movement to my daily activity.
  • Thank you both so much! (@BWadeRN - I definitely have to check out what is going on with my PMs! So sorry you had a problem. That is so awesome you broke your plateau! :) ) The thing about decreasing food is if I decrease calories I would be eating fewer than 1200 calories a day. In terms of what I eat, I make sure to not…
  • You're welcome! I agree with you about diet Sunkist. I feel the same about diet Fanta orange and diet Dr. Pepper and even certain brands of diet root beer like Barq's and A&W. When I do have soda once in a blue, I indulge on a regular one. A friend told me that while diet soda has no calories, believe it or not in the long…
  • Don't feel ashamed! You are amazing for having lost the weight the first time around and wanting to do it again. If you did it before you can do it again. Just try not to think of 2013. Start fresh AMC stay patient. Keep thinking of those muscles you want to get back and take it a day at a time.
  • Different devices say different things. I rode a stationary bike once that had a calorie burner and compared its reading to MFP being sure I input the right speed and MFP claimed I burned more calories than the bike claimed. I know the inconsistency is annoying, but I chalked it up to the fact that I exercised was more…
  • Don't stress too much about the scale going up. Our weight fluctuates all the time every day. The most likely culprit for sudden weight gain is water retention. Drinking water can help and tea is also good because it is a natural diuretic.
  • First of all you are gorgeous! Secondly I completely empathize with your situation. I remember after getting halfway to my original goal the scale froze for a over a month and I felt really discouraged. Just keep doing what you are doing, though. That's what I did and then after a while the scale resumed going down slowly.…
  • You are not failing at all! There are so many people out there that either do not acknowledge they should lose weight or they do, but complacently do nothing. You are a success because you want to do something about it. Increasing your water intake is a great idea. I, too, had to do that. It is crazy that we can store a…
  • Thanks so much, everybody!
