I've been teetering on Pre-diabetic for a couple of years now. Morning fasting sugar usually between 105 and 118. I've proven to myself that it can be better controlled by watching carbs. I can get it under 100 if I discipline myself. Easier said than done.

68 years old here. I've got another 12 lbs to go to hit my high-school weight. I've been fighting "mindless" eating for a long time. My goal weight is what I weighed my last year in high school. I'm 68 now and only 8 pounds away. It's a hard 8 though!

As many have said, there is no such thing as wild tilapia. All farm raised in various stages of polluted water. (Some better than others). I stick to wild salmon or pollock. Man, try to find wild caught shrimp. Almost impossible in my area.

Aside from the sugar in regular soda and the usual suspects in artificial sweeteners, the phosphoric acid found in many sodas is very detrimental as it robs calcium from your system. It took me awhile but I finally moved to unsweetened ice tea with lemon.

I personally found that cutting back on simple carbohydrates helps. Increasing protein seems to curb my cravings. My personal favorite is a couple of celery stalks with cream cheese.
