Have you determined the underlying cause of the depression? Exercise may temporarily raise endorphins providing temporary relief, but just like a sugar high, the bottoming out is less rewarding.

The downside of a sugar high .... feeling lethargic, moody, less satisfied.0

I eat sugar and never felt lethargic, moody or less satisfied. Sugar gives me energy and makes me happy.1

For me, the underlying cause of my depression was serotonin. Once adjusted, my depression lessened dramatically. I eat way too much sugar every day, it doesn't seem to play a role in my mental state.0

You intended this as a response to the Depression and Exercise thread, not as a separate thread, right?2

I know the 2 main causes of my depression. One can possible be "fixed" with medications, the other with less legal means.
Sugar makes me happy as well.0 -
