@Jacquifly I'm speaking for myself, but I'd say keto, or low carb has given me a long term good habit of basically avoiding things like processed food and refined sugar.

I'm also looking to get new scales. I'm considering the Nokia/withings Body+ scales that somebody else mentioned. How are they working out dor you @_mr_b ?

I meant to include vegetables. But truth be told i don't eat that much. I usually have 1 salad per day. But the thing is that's more than i used to have before the diet. Why are supplement pills not the same, vitamin wise?

For all wanting to know my weight loss, i started at 210lbs now I'm 195lbs. Been eating how i am consistently for 28 days quite comfortably, appetite wise, I'm eating without long gaps and I'm eating good food that's not high glycemic or processed. I believe a fair bit of that initial weight loss may have been water and…

Thanks

I'm not voluntarily eating 1000kcal. I've been dieting and i seem to not have the urge to eat anything more and my intake is only 1000kcal after logging.

Yeah, i am not really shooting for low carb but that's what it's working out as, I'm averaging about 50g carbs daily as I've cut out bread, pasta, fries, chocolate, juice drinks. Carbs come from fruit and condiments just. I've been doing this for about 30 days now. I'm not particularly active due to having torn knee…

Is this some sort of 'healthy' ice cream? I've seen the name float about.

Oatmeal, cold and uncooked. Eggs, any which way.

Not as embarrassing as being fat and uncomfortable in my own skin. If you try to lose so weight, you have a problem that you have identified and you want to commit to resolve it- that's the opposite of embarrassing.
-
Great comeback. It is hard to debate when you are in the wrong.

Ok guys, the consensus is I up my calories a bit, so thanks for the advice on that. @meelisv , the reason i do keto / low carb is not because of any particular ideology of it, although i know the low carb ideology, but just because it just suits me better. It controls my hunger better, I'm a real sugar craver between meals…

Reduce the dependencey on high doses of insulin over time. Look, you know about type 1 diabetes more than me as I'm not unlucky enough to have diabetes, but i gave my time to give the OP "ANY" advice as she requested with the best intentions and I'm happy to yield to anyone with better expertise, like yourself to help the…

Thanks guys

You cannot be the judge of what is useful unless you are the OP. Your opinion isn't fact, I'm sorry. It was definitely a snarky comment, it came across very patronising and dismissive despite a lack of evidence to refute the article on your part. I get the article might be against your beliefs and you don't like it but…

You do know what it means when people put words in inverted commas, right? I'm not saying they are the same thing, the difference in names implies that they aren't the same thing. Daft example: a row boat and a cruise liner are still boats, but they aren't the same lol.

Nut butters can be dangerous in terms of weight loss as they are so calorie dense. It's very easy to overindulge.

Also, the article states immediately beneath the diagram: "When I say generally that a chronic intake of over 150 grams of carbs can lead to insidious weight gain over a lifetime, I am factoring in the concept that many people are at the effect of a familial genetic predisposition to storing fat easily under the carb…

Yeah, whatever works for you, you know so that's fair. It's not my article, but it may (or may not) give the OP some useful information (that's up to her, not us). She asked about carb limits, i provided an article that states these and also gives rationale behind it's conclusions. I provided something, something she…

Hi. I yield you are better suited to help this chap over me. I know what type 1 diabetes is, i know you NEED to take insulin. Yes, type 2 is the diabetes that can be actually reversed, but that doesn't change that i did read people say that they 'reversed' their type 1- whether or not that is correct or credible is another…

150g is the upper limit i should say. Probs aim for 100g.
-
150g According to this article, see the diagram near the bottom. Interesting article in it's own right. https://www.marksdailyapple.com/a-metabolic-paradigm-shift-fat-carbs-human-body-metabolism/

So I'm not very experienced in this area. But i believe when a person eats carbs and sugar (both are converted to glucose (energy) in the blood) insulin is released to either store the energy (as fat or glycogen). If you eat a carb based diet you will have a lot more instances where you will need to take insulin to deal…

Breakfast: 2 slice bacon, 2 organic eggs, tomato sauce. Lunch: salmon fillet oven baked, veg, nuts. Dinner: Ribeye steak, veg.

Lots of meats, lots of fish, eggs, vegetables (except starchy ones like potatoes) some cheese, some nuts (basically avoid peanuts and cashews), coconuts (every which way). If you go low on carbs you should eat fatty cuts of fish (mackeral and salmon) and meat (ribeye steak, sirloin steak, chicken with skin, untrimmed…

I can just about guarentee (as im a sugar junkie at heart) that if you eat paleo, or even low carb high fat, correctly, that your cravings for sugar will subside after 2-3 weeks but it's the initial 2 that's 'hard'. Say maybe 3 weeks you'll have a much reduced appetite and you'll be well happy as you'll be feeling not…
