This is what happened to me. I was obese prepregnancy. I was told to gain maybe 15lbs. I didn't gain all that, but after having the baby, I had lost about 26lbs. My baby was born small, but healthy. This. Please do NOT take advice, especially weight loss advice during pregnancy from random folks on a message board. There are instances where not gaining weight/losing weight is what's best for the baby, but let a Dr tell you if that applies. Not us.

I used to make white bread, bologna, ketchup and mozzarella cheese "pizza bread". It made my mother sick. And I could eat a dozen deviled eggs in a sitting if my parents let me.

I weigh daily. At first, I did feel like I wasn't losing what I thought I should, and that bothered me. But I just kept doing it. It doesn't bother me anymore. I care more about the overall trend of my weight loss, not the daily fluctuations on the scale.

You can get pregnant at any weight, but it does carry additional risks such as preeclampsia, gestational diabetes, increased risk of needing a c-section, and some other things. My husband is supportive but his own food choices sometimes rub off on me. I do have a history of ED so when he sees me weighing food and anxious to burn off calories he immediately thinks I'm headed downhill. Oh thank god I'm not the only one! This "clean eating" stuff was inches away from making me want to give up all together. I'm eating whatever so long as it's in my allowance - it helps me stay on track. And if I want more, well I better get off my *kitten* to earn that ice cream
