  • Like others have said leave your money at home. This worked for me at my office (until they installed Apple Pay...).
  • I went vegetarian a few years ago for the animals. Like you I was really bummed out by the thought of not eating meat anymore because I loved the taste and meat was the focal point of every single dish I ate. So I started out in stages - first went the red meat, then gradually went the fish, then eventually went the…
  • I'm a binger with no self control, so I can't keep certain foods around as I can't just have a portion - I have the whole packet. I live with my parents, so I've had to ask them to hide all of their sweets and chocolates, otherwise I will eat them. I don't like being this way, or living this way. But there was a reason I…
  • First three months I lost 22 pounds. I'm now at the six month mark and have lost just over 40. The process hasn't been steady - there have been maintenances and gains. But I've trusted in the process and overall it's working!
  • Thank you so much, everyone. I was in a horrible place with it all this morning, but a day of being outside with a friend and coming home to your thoughtful responses has really put me back where I needed to be. Remembering the scale is just a tool and not a judge is immensely helpful. I feel silly for having got so worked…
  • This is amazing, really big well done! <3
  • My favourite meal is my last meal of the day, so I do my best not to waste my calories on breakfast. For this reason I have a protein shake made of out vanilla whey protein powder, half a frozen banana, one cup of chilled black coffee and one cup of soy milk (tastes like a frappuccino!). It works out at about 200 calories.…
  • I kept my weight loss attempts a secret at first - I was afraid I'd fail and be judged for not making progress. I was also loathe to receive unsolicited advice (I like to figure things out on my own, which I have done). However, 34 pounds down and I'm now more open about it with people. I work in an office and a big issue…
  • Use the powder in your belly button too, that works for me. With regard to the chaffing and breakouts try some tea tree/anti-fungal shower gels which are marketed toward problems like jock itch. I purchased mine off Amazon.
  • Desk monkey checking in! I have to take a packed lunch and leave my purse at home, or I WILL spend in the canteen. I'm not a massive packed/cold lunch fan so making food for work is the most difficult meal for me.
  • Weigh all food and plan every meal on MFP. I truly had no idea what a state my diet was in before I started doing that. Another thing is to factor in a bedtime snack. I ALWAYS want one and for months it was taking me over my goals because I didn't take it into account (or I thought I could fight the desire because you're…
  • I like to make a shake out of: 1/2 banana 1 cup iced coffee 1/2 (or full) cup soy milk The banana and coffee will give you energy. The caffine will also help you burn more calories. I like to also make it into a post-workout shake by adding a scoop of chocolate or vanilla protein powder.
  • I weigh every day. As some people have said what the scale says every day isn't important. It's the trend overtime - which is why I use an app called Happy Scale. It shows me the gradual decline over time, even if the individual days fluctuate. It keeps me grounded and motivated.
  • Great work! :)
  • Very inspiring, well done!
  • Also a desk monkey! I'll send a request. What are your guys habits when it comes to eating at work? I used to be a horrendous over eater and have more than my day's total calories in just the seven hours I was at work. My downfall was either taking lots of food to work or taking my purse to work and purchasing from the…
  • Love this thread! Vegans and vegetarians with open diaries, add me! I went vegetarian 2 1/2 years ago for ethical reasons (it was when Facebook videos played automatically, and I was forced to acknowledge the abuse that went on in slaughter houses). I lived on pasta and cheese for a long time - learning to eat vegetables,…
  • Peanut butter sliced banana on Tesco Finest protein bread, toasted.
  • Well done! This is very inspiring!
  • Open diary! Try to log every day, excluding takeaways and meals out. Vegetarian.
